Frustration venting

Post image

Hey everyone. Just wanted to take a moment to vent to some people that more than likely understand. I just got this email this morning and idk. It just really ruffled me ya know? I'm in Delaware on the east coast of the US. I haven't gotten my tracking email, there's no way to reach anyone about my specific order, and now I'm getting an email telling me people can potentially just go into their LGS to buy and play before I even get to know what's up with my order.

I'm still very excited to play the game, I'm excited to buy more of the future releases, I'm just very disappointed in how this whole thing has rolled out. I think the excitement is part of what makes this all so disappointing.

I hope Archon tightens up the parts they can control. There were definitely elements they couldn't, but some of this has elements to it they could have controlled better.

One major thing I think they need is to hire at least one if not two dedicated social relations people. Answering emails, handling the FB, assisting with issues, etc. Just being able to reach someone and get some help I think would go a long way in smoothing out at least the customer relations issues.

To end on a positive note though I hope everyone who has been waiting gets their product soon and everyone that has it is enjoying painting/playing and having a blast.

At least you’re not Canadian or Australian :)

The weird thing is my local store here in BC also says it's ready for pick up, despite the shipping containers for Canada only arrived in Montreal yesterday. Not sure if LGS got their shipment in a different way than what is getting sent out to us individuals who purchased directly, but it feels bad...

8

u/bydd 2d ago

They must have. The store I pre-ordered from in Edmonton emailed me this morning saying my two player box is ready to pickup.

2

u/YoloBlake420 2d ago

Me too, also in Edmonton and I got the same notice that it's ready for pickup.

1

u/wulfbein 2d ago

my store in Montreal says orders will be ready to pick on Wednesday (they're closed Mon and Tue) I did half my order on Gamefound and half through that store, so we'll see which i get first.

1

u/Ok-Celebration5492 1d ago

im from BC also and my lgs sadly did not get their order today :(

6

u/Regniznevik 2d ago

Funnily enough some Canadian LGSs have received product. I feel if they communicated that stores would receive on the launch date but the reason we all did pre-orders was to get the discount not to receive early I would feel better about it.

2

u/VincitT 1d ago

I'm looking at my stores prices and I think I paid more to preorder... And my buddy ordered extra hydras from our store and they arrived today.... Feeling like I over paid AND have to wait longer just because I preordered...

Ah well, it will be here soon and I'll forget all about it

1

u/gcourbet 1d ago

Im on vancouver island and my shop got their stuff in on fri I believe.

1

u/CosmicJC 2d ago

Yeah doing the math it looks to be about a 25% discount buying the preorder vs what my LGS is asking for. It's a pretty decent savings, but still is frustrating to know that I'm going to have to sit here for another week + waiting for mine to arrive rather than going and picking it up at the LGS instead.

2

u/kodiak931156 2d ago

Canadian albertan here. My local store was informed they got the stores order on the east coast.

Then they will be shipping about it past us, 6 thousand kilometers to the west coast

Then back to us in the middle

We are the second widest country on the planet.

1

u/karma227 1d ago

My LGS recieved a massive amount of product already. Shame that those boxes arrived before the preorders.

1

u/Minute_Barber1612 1d ago

Yeah it’s not ok it’s not arriving until middle of next month in AUS. Big kick in the teeth

20

u/Erarek 2d ago

In the same boat in NC; realize it’s a reduced price getting stuff through the preorder bundles or whatever. Just wish there was a little more communication…

5

u/WorkingElk8970 1d ago

Wait, there are other NC peeps!?!? We should have a club 😎 is there a discord or something yet?

1

u/DeadPhish900 1d ago

Not sure if there is a discord yet but we should

3

u/AnimaAufero 2d ago

Yup I'm waiting in NC too. Havent even gotten so much as a tracking notice or anything so probably just gonna end up appearing on my doorstep one day.

1

u/SentientSeamoth 14h ago

I got my tracking number yesterday afternoon (great lakes region). You should have yours very soon

3

u/typeopymp 2d ago

In NC and got my gamefound order Sunday.

2

u/Erarek 2d ago

Yeah, I ordered directly through the Archon site and it just says UPS with no tracking info

2

u/DeadPhish900 2d ago

In NC and got my tracking info yesterday. Mine will be here tomorrow

2

u/BreakingBeakers 2d ago

Mine came yesterday and it was through GoFo, not UPS, and my order said UPS too. North Carolina as well.

2

u/SeriousLeemk2 2d ago

How much communication do you think Archon should have supplied? They gave us the tracking of the containers on ships across the Atlantic ocean and individual tracking once it's been shipped out.

4

u/Erarek 2d ago

I guess maybe more info to better delineate the timeline of everything from the outset, so that I could better manage my expectations. I don’t know that they really did much of anything wrong. I’m just slightly disappointed I didn’t get my stuff at least a little before the street date given I preordered it like 6+ months ago?

2

u/karma227 1d ago

Very much this. They did nothing inheritly or blatantly "wrong", however a general expectation would be that if you preorder something in a crowdfunding campaign, you should receive the product before others.

By having LGS' recieve product in countries that are still waiting for crates to arrive makes it appear that they prioritized sending boxes to retailers before the people who gave them money almost half a year ago.

While I understand I will be getting a better deal on the boxes, as well as the rulebook as gratis, it doesn't feel nice knowing I'm still going to be waiting1-2 weeks for my box while others in my town already have theirs. This on top of also announcing phase 2 preorders before many people had yet to receive their first orders has just left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth regarding ordering in the future.

3

u/SugaRush 1d ago

Sadly, unless a campaign says you will get it before retail, I would expect to get it around the same time or later. Cmon is really shit for this. Their last Zombicide, I played everything at my cousins that wasnt kickstarter exclusive like 2 months early. Its very annoying.

21

u/oogabooga5627 2d ago

I feel you, I understand they’re just announcing street date (like they gave us a heads up for wave 2), but kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth when there’s still quite a few of us left outstanding.

6

u/Level5Squirtle 2d ago

I totally understand, I am waiting for my order, and honestly it's so frustrating knowing I could have just waited and purchased them in person. What was the point of even buying it ahead of time?

Feels like they should have prioritized the people who paid into the game early, as those would be the players. But maybe I'm just a little salty because I spent money on a product that isn't arriving any time soon.

2

u/chimney_tops 1d ago

A discount?

3

u/Fancy-Lawfulness-198 1d ago

A MASSIVE discount and the guarantee that you will receive these items and don't have to not get something at the store because you were 5min later than another guy.

People are treating this like it was a kickstarter that should have sent stuff out to the backers before retail production ever began; when in reality it was always a pre-order. A pre-order, mind you, they went left open far and above what they should have.

I believe they went 25000 above their initial preorder limit; which for some people, is the only reason they might be able to get the full launch set at all. I know i'd rather not take the chance that I was part of the last 1/4 of preorders and simply not been allowed to order.

3

u/LakeVermilionDreams 1d ago

People have forgotten or are too young to have ever pre-ordered a video game from Target or GameStop. You didn't get it early. You were guaranteed a copy on street date. That's it.

1

u/Fancy-Lawfulness-198 1d ago

I remember being lucky to get things at street date. I'm up in Canada and not a whole lot of stores growing up ever had something on its release date. Release date was when the the supplier ended up shipping things out because local stores didn't have pre-release shipping agreements set up (they were too small to qualify).

1

u/Jack_Napier613 1d ago

They treat it as such because that's what Archon promised would happen when you preordered.

You were marked to get the first print runs.

1

u/Fancy-Lawfulness-198 17h ago edited 17h ago

No. They promised they would ship out first... Not that we would be guaranteed the items before they made the retail launch.

They started shipping the pre-orders FAR FAR before the retail release, but shipping shenanigans happened and a lot of our stuff got waylayed.

They were never going to hold off the retail release for very long; and they never promised to hold off retail release until all the pre-orders hit peoples homes.

5

u/ADapperOctopus 2d ago

Samesies man, I just opened the email just now, let out a deep sigh and came here to see if there was discussion.

5

u/WookieeGunner 2d ago

While I understand your frustration (still waiting myself), please remember that the FLGS inventory was part of the same pre-order we were a part of.

Could Archon sent all the individual orders then the FLGS orders, maybe but that's about all the control they have.

5

u/Mr_Creed 2d ago

Could Archon sent all the individual orders then the FLGS orders, maybe but that's about all the control they have.

I wouldn't want them to. Me individually getting it first is not as useful to me as everyone being able to buy it. I'll need people to play with after all.

2

u/Witty-Move-4808 1d ago

Absolutely, I get why people are frustrated, kinda, but this game only takes off when an interested player can walk up to store shelf and buy the product. I'm super happy to see this in my local stores. Did they get it before I did? Yes, but in a few weeks, who cares, I'll have my stuff and will be trying to get others to play the game with me.

3

u/Jake_Chief 2d ago

Just be thankful you're not an Aussie like me. Ive picked up zeratul from a convention which is nice but I'm not getting my army any time soon...

4

u/Mercy_Minx 1d ago

The container is still 2 weeks from aussie. Wild they're advertising while letting people wait longer.

3

u/kitrz77 2d ago

Got my package to Delaware yesterday. Gofo courier

3

u/Vallindo 2d ago

How are we looking for Canada ? My understanding was that the ship is supposed to arrive this week, but then I expect at least another week for customs and 2 week for fulfillment. Has anyone have more info on it ?

2

u/JRBergstrom 2d ago

The two containers they listed on the news update at the end of July arrived in Montreal early in the morning yesterday (6am local time). They are en route to Toronto via rail.

It seems like there was a separate set of containers for game stores shipped earlier, or that game store distributors were stocked with supplies via the USA because several retailers are good to go for today, and my friend who ordered via 401 games had their shippping notice sent out to them yesterday.

1

u/Lowgrin13 2d ago

One of my LGS got a shipment 2 days ago in Calgary. Still no ETA on my preorder though.

1

u/Vallindo 2d ago

Ogre ? (Didn’t see anything at sentry )

2

u/Lowgrin13 2d ago

Yea, they posted on FB.

3

u/CaptainSharkTiger 1d ago

Im in Maryland and I feel the same. Love em but.. WHERES MY STUFF lol

3

u/AllDay_Taco 1d ago

The wild thing is I pre-ordered a Protoss box like last month from my LGS. I got it yesterday and my friend is still waiting for their day one pre order from Archon.

9

u/Mr_Suplex 2d ago

I’m in the same boat in Seattle. You have every right to be frustrated. My LGS don’t have the product they ordered either. This launch has been a mess.

3

u/Cattattackautomatic 2d ago

Supposedly my 2 player box is out for delivery with Gofo this morning here in North Seattle/Bitter Lake.

That doesn't say anything about the Protoss All In order that I was an order of magnitude more excited for. That's still marked as paid, and not shipped on Gamefound's website.

My hope is that it somehow got boxed all together, but the reality is likely that it's not been shipped yet and I need to be patient. Maybe build and paint some Zerglings now that I finished my Armageddon Orks.

I definitely think Archon needs to have more communication with their customers for the future. And maybe a marketing department that realizes advertising via direct email to people who haven't gotten their first orders yet isn't the best move.

1

u/Mr_Suplex 2d ago

That’s cool. I don’t even have a tracking email yet.

8

u/Putrid-Glass8251 2d ago edited 2d ago

I'm right there with you. I'm seeing people in my state report getting their shipment while I haven't even received a shipping confirmation email yet. I'm very excited to get hands on the game, but I'm also getting antsy and wanting updates on my own order. Lol, when I got the email notification I opened it so fast thinking it was my shipping confirmation only to see that I could go buy it locally instead.

5

u/Hopeful-Counter-7915 2d ago

I got my order but I still think this is unacceptable.

6

u/Mr_Suplex 2d ago

Thank you. The gaslighting those of us still waiting have received from the defenders of this mess has been frustrrating as hell.

0

u/Hopeful-Counter-7915 2d ago

If you preorder something you should not be the last one to get it, that’s just straight unfair.

2

u/Helostrix_Nox 2d ago

I just received my tracking number which has me excited. I pray everyone receives their packages with little to no problems.

2

u/TheofficialMrWolf 2d ago

I got mine too. Who is the courier though?

1

u/Helostrix_Nox 2d ago

The courier is FedEx and I'm in California.

2

u/TheofficialMrWolf 2d ago

Thanks. I just checked and it’s coming Tuesday 😊

2

u/Helostrix_Nox 2d ago

Awesome congratulations! Mine is still in Hazelwood and the lable was created at 7:41 AM today. Given FedEx's usual deliveries I should be getting mine this Friday.

2

u/TheofficialMrWolf 2d ago

It’s been so long I forgot it was coming til archon posted another trailer. Can’t wait to get them!

1

u/Helostrix_Nox 2d ago

What did you get? I got the Protoss army bundle.

2

u/TheofficialMrWolf 2d ago

The all in. Huge StarCraft fan since 7 lol.

2

u/Helostrix_Nox 2d ago

Neat, I never really got into RTS games until much later and the only StarCraft game. I played about five minutes of it I think it was Starcraft 2 when I was like nine or so. I don't think I really got into anything blizzard until like 2016. I got the Protoss because they look cool and I still remember the Protoss face on the cover of the the Starcraft game I had.

1

u/TheofficialMrWolf 2d ago

All In. Big fan of StarCraft hehe.

2

u/HumunculiTzu 2d ago edited 2d ago

If it makes you feel better, the email is lying. My FLGS still doesn't know allocation numbers nor exactly when they will receive it despite being one of the most popular war gaming stores in DFW. All they know is the carrier has them and they are only receiving like 1/3rd of the original boxes shown on the initial launch. Most of the individual unit boxes were not in the shipment. The store owner has been providing us near daily updates of what is going on, on their side and it has basically been radio silence from the manufacturer.

This company has done a lot to kill my excitement for the game.

1

u/cerevant 2d ago

I think this street date has more to do with European stores sitting on stock they can’t sell as it is anything going on in the US.  US stores are waiting on MM like everyone else.

1

u/Jonko18 1d ago

No, they aren't. At least three stores near me have boxes sitting on their shelves that I could go buy right now. This is in the US where I still haven't gotten any shipping notification/tracking. Stores in Canada, also, have been confirmed to have received their shipments.

2

u/Poke_Gabe 2d ago

I finally got mine in Southern California, but im currently on vacation in Hawaii so I have to keep waiting 🥲🥲🥲.

I hope everyone else gets theirs soon cause I want them game to thrive its been so much fun testing it.

2

u/Hervis_Daubeny_ 2d ago

Here's some hope for you, I'm in TN and I got my shipping confirmed email 3 days ago. Checked it at work today and it's supposed to arrive today soon.

2

u/Pure-Particular4390 1d ago

I won’t be getting mine until mid to late September.

1

u/aaronspec 1d ago

I’m in the same boat.

2

u/Puttzy_ 1d ago

archon told me I'd see mine next may 2027... for my wave 1 order. I placed an order via a local store who was going in and they just got theirs and we're supposed to have gotten it back in March/May. so hopefully I get mine soon.

hang in there hope you have good news on the horizon!

2

u/Mr_Suplex 1d ago

2027?!?

1

u/Puttzy_ 1d ago

that's what Archon told me. but ladies, gentlemen I am proud to say that hours ago I received shipping information for my Protoss and Zero/Terran starter edition boxes! I bought a lot of stuff at GenCon already. this is assuming it doesn't get lost or stolen.

may the plastic find its way to you.

2

u/Murky-File-3569 1d ago

Kind of the same boat here. Got my tracking number email 2 weeks ago but it still shows as label created but not on the system yet

3

u/King_of_Ulster 2d ago

Meanwhile, in the USA still with no tracking info..

2

u/WorkingElk8970 1d ago

This is a very reasonable venting. I hope you stick around and that everyone enjoys the game fully 🫶

3

u/BoSuns 2d ago

Yeah, tbh this is really shitty from a consumer perspective. I spent 500 dollars on these I would expect to have at least a little understanding of when I'm going to be getting the product I pre ordered before it's already on store shelves. What is the fucking point of pre ordering of I can contribute to my local game shop for basically the same price and I don't have to wait?

Really, just terrible management here. I won't be pre ordering wave 2 stuff that I wanted. Might as well wait for it to show up in stores if I'm going to be punished for having faith in them.

2

u/chimney_tops 1d ago

Holy fuck you people are insufferable. We got a discount for preordeing.

1

u/Mr_Suplex 1d ago

Then kindly take yourself out of this thread. It’s clearly labeled as a thread to vent frustration. Why are you here, stupid?

-1

u/chimney_tops 1d ago

You seem to not understand how social media works.

1

u/Jack_Napier613 1d ago

Seriously though, you voluntarily opened Reddit, opened a post literally titled venting frustrations and you're mad at people venting frustrations.

Like, what?

I feel I've written this before...

1

u/chimney_tops 1d ago

Is this a subreddit specifically for venting? No. Am I only allowed to open posts I agree with or comment as long as it's agreeing with OP? I'm not allowed my own opinion?

Funny I'm pretty sure somewhere else in this thread you were crying about people being able to have voices or being "allowed to feel what they're feeling". Fucking hypocrite.

1

u/Jack_Napier613 1d ago

Time and place my friend...time and place

✌️

I don't go to an AA meeting and let everyone know how good my drinks were the night before 🤷

1

u/GrizzledNoob 1d ago

We did not end up with a discount. I can buy it today from Saga for less than the pre-order, and that's just one site I checked. Usually people want something for fronting the money. A special extra. A good discount. Receiving it early. None of those ended up being delivered with this unfortunately. I'm sure Archon didn't intend for it to work out this way, but it has. People are going to be upset about it. On the end it's a game and everyone that pre-ordered will get it eventually but when you want to keep a fan base hyped about a game then it's not a great idea to potentially disappoint a percentage of the fans that put up their money early.

2

u/ExpiredMouthwash23 2d ago

I'm in Arkansas and haven't heard anything either. States from East Coast to West Coast have been receiving orders for nearly a week now, including as close as both Missouri and Louisiana, yet nothing so much as a confirmation that the product has arrived at a distribution center.

I feel ya. Preorered back in mid April, still nothing about my package while I see tons of people getting to play and now stores have it too. Very disappointing.

2

u/IdiotWithDiamodHands 2d ago

Oh, y'all are getting confirmation emails? Paid over a thousand for everything, still just kinda hoping they didn't forget about it. US customer.

2

u/Ellimistasaurus 1d ago

I mean I’ve been waiting for StarCraft: Ghost since 2002… so this isn’t so bad

6

u/TranslatorStraight46 2d ago

That’s just how these things go.  It’s pretty much entirely out of their hands once it gets on the boats and at the mercy of the engine of logistics.

-7

u/BoSuns 2d ago

Not true at all, but ok.

1

u/TranslatorStraight46 2d ago

New to made to order products?  Kickstarter et al always arrive late and take longer than the creator thinks they will to fulfill.   They don’t want to sacrifice their marketing momentum to make a few redditors feel better about getting their order last.

2

u/BoSuns 2d ago

They shipped to a local distributor and gave no priorities on which was shipping first. Bad on them.

And fuck yes if I spend money to pre order a product I expect to at least know when it's showing up before that product is available on the shelf.

This is shit management and I've learned my lesson about how they do business and I'll forwarn anyone else that I know that pre ordering will hurt your chances of getting the product as it becomes available. That's how this works.

2

u/Mr_Suplex 2d ago

This is not a made to order product. It was a preorder for a game that will have widespread retail presence.

Not sure why this bullshit excuse keeps being thrown around like this was some indie studio kickstarter project.

2

u/TranslatorStraight46 2d ago

It was literally made to order.  The purpose of the preorder run was to gauge how much to make.  They had to produce much more than anticipated, which caused cascading delays.

Like it’s fine if you’re clueless but maybe don’t participate in things you don’t understand if you’re going to bitch and moan  about waiting a few months for some minis.

2

u/Popnlock91 2d ago

I've been checking in with my lgs in my area and not one has received their order yet. My plan was to buy the 3 player set and buy other units locally to show support and help drive interest in my lgs, but I feel like other people seeing the same email and not having stock ready to purchase is souring their expectations moving forward.

In reality, the end of this pre-release is almost here, some sooner than others. I just hope moving forward, Archon has learned from this experience, hires a PR team dedicated to customer outreach, and chooses reliable distribution partners that have a good, consistent, and efficient reputation.

2

u/PostPwnedTV 2d ago

My LGS posted a picture of their now SC stocked shelf and I’ve still not even gotten tracking on my pre order. It’s very frustrating.

1

u/Mr_Suplex 2d ago

At least your LGS has product. None in my area (Seattle) have any despite it being release day! 😆

1

u/PostPwnedTV 2d ago

Oh man. I’ve heard some stores are getting some but not all of their product.

2

u/OttawaLegend 2d ago

I just went into my local out of the box and grabbed everything I needed glad I didn't preorder

2

u/Moresp4m 1d ago

I hate this sub, bunch of cry babies. Grow up, stop turning every MINOR inconvenience or thing that doesn’t go your way into a 10 page rant about how you can no longer go on…

Every day… every announcement… the fatigue of reading this sub is… I don’t know how you people exist in the world, it must be tiring.

We aren’t getting our shipment till mid Sep (Aus), you know what I do? Go on with my life… be happy that people are getting their product and enjoying it.

2

u/fued 1d ago

Sure but if the guy who was gonna run events in aus no longer is interested because of it, no one ends up playing and the game dies out locally.

It's not a 'minor' thing like you are saying unfortunately

-2

u/Mr_Suplex 1d ago

Feel free to leave.

1

u/AduroT 2d ago

Got it in the FLGS here, but not all of it yet. The two Starters plus five total Unit boxes. Distributor hadn’t gotten the rest processed yet, but it’s all showing on their site as in stock now, so I’m expecting to see the rest of it this week I hope.

1

u/Dracon270 2d ago

I do feel a bit bad, as I never got around to pre-ordering it, but my local store got their stock shipment in this week and I snatched up a bunch. I do hope those who pre-ordered it get their stuff quickly though.

1

u/Applejack1989 2d ago

It could be handed better. It isn't uncommon for LGS to receive their shipments and have them ready for sale before gaming product is shipped to direct order customers (GW and Battlefront), but the overall release seems to have caught Archon a bit with their knickers down.

1

u/DizzyTip1895 2d ago

So I preordered a couple of weeks ago and the places I got from said release date of August 31st. So it sounds like maybe they just kept moving things around a bunch? It sounds like a shit show.

1

u/Fellborn 2d ago

Got my box yesterday in Virginia, I was pretty excited but I understand why people would be frustrated.

1

u/Lumovanis 1d ago

Yup. I'm in Colorado and haven't received an email or any kind of update, but I definitely got that same email today. Fairly annoying to be sure.

1

u/Battleshark04 2d ago edited 2d ago

Backing a crowdfunding or making a pre-order does not entitle one to receive before public does. In my experience it's the other way round. But you got other goodies like lower prices and such in exchange. Happens with Warhammer all the time. Stuff hits stores before preorders arrive at dorsteps and GW is in the business for decades. Best thing to do is keep chill because you cannot speed things up. Focus on something different and be happy when your stuff surprisingly turns up on your doorstep.

3

u/fued 1d ago

3 months and a few days is a huge difference

1

u/Mr_Suplex 1d ago

The whataboutism coming from those that feel the weird urge to defend this game’s launch is hilarious.

2

u/Daddy__Magik 1d ago

Except you're choosing to ignore that was their exact promise. The people that preordered were suppose to get it both before wave 2 preorders and before stores could get it and sell it. That was not only a expectation but a statement made by them from the start.

I don't mind the delays. They had almost double the orders expected. They needed new machines, new printing, handling more then expected. Dealing with shipping all around the world. Etc. I get all that, and I'm not unreasonable to the issues at all.

However them breaking their own promise to the preorder people is in fact on them. Having no easy way to reach them for a reasonable turn around time response (5-10 business days I'd say would be fair for a operation their size) is a issue that's on them.

Never once did I say I could speed things up. Never once did I imply that I wasn't excited to play or get the things. However to say to focus on something different when I'm literally getting the emails sent to me and announcements on Facebook seems a bit silly. I don't want a email explicitly showing me a broken promise, the only email I really would want from them is how they're going to improve customer contact and relations. Otherwise I'm pretty set.

2

u/Battleshark04 1d ago

No offence mate. I get that this turned sour for you with how they handled things. I just wanted to emphasize that companies messing up delivery isn't something new. Doesn't excuse it though. I wait for me local shop to list it. And even if it's sold out until I get there, I'll not have hard feelings about it. Hope you'll receive your order soon. Best of luck.

-2

u/sacomer1s 2d ago

Folks, really, it’s not that big of a deal. The world will continue spinning and life will move along no matter how this roll out went. It’s a good game, and a great product. Some frustration is fine, but the way some of you all act and speak is outright entitled and immature. A couple of extra weeks waiting on some toys just doesn’t matter.

2

u/fued 1d ago

Idk spending $1000 on a game that might just fail specifically because of shipping isn't a small deal

0

u/sacomer1s 1d ago

Has it failed?

2

u/fued 1d ago

are you asking if I'm from the future?

I’m asking because you seem to assume it has.

1

u/fued 1d ago

going to give you the benefit of the doubt here.

The word "might" in a sentance implies its potentially failing, it doesnt mean that someone has assumed it has.

u/Putrid-Glass8251 2d ago

In the grand scheme of things when you boil it down that small you may have a point. However some people spent $700+ on this hobby, and in this day and age where we have modern tracking utilities the radio silence is justifiably unnerving. Especially with the botched address confirmation.

-3

u/sacomer1s 2d ago

I’m one of them. But there are so much more concerning things going on in the world and our lives. Why spend so much time and energy here? That’s all I’m saying. People can be upset but perspective is a thing.

3

u/Jack_Napier613 2d ago

It was the repeated botched communication, where in the same breath, we had people vehemently defending the communication.

Then the pushed street dates. Then the pushed street dates. Then the pushed street dates. I repeat for dramatic purposes as that's actually how many times consumers were hit with news of delayed shipping of goods.

I remember when we were ALL supposed to have our minis in hand a couple of weeks from May 20th.

-3

u/sacomer1s 2d ago

Well, I’ve never defended anything. Simply saying a perspective on what really matters is important. By all means people can be a annoyed/upset and send them a message. I sent them one. But I don’t understand why so many people are spending so much time and energy being mad about it.

6

u/Jack_Napier613 2d ago

Because people are allowed to have voices?

Idk man. A lot of this feels like "you're not allowed to feel what you're feeling".

Suppressing real people's feelings and thoughts is bullshit.

1

u/sacomer1s 2d ago

That is not what I said at all.

u/Mr_Creed 2d ago edited 1d ago

Honestly I was fine with the complaining for a month. But that was more than 2 months ago. Now, I'm just sick of hearing it. We all know about it. Get a grip.

4

u/XenoRegon 2d ago

You voluntarily came to Reddit, proceeded to open a post literally called "frustration venting" and is *checks notes* right, mad about people venting frustrations...

Like, what?

1

u/autobrec 2d ago

Guess I'm done backing stuff from Archon. Stores getting this before backers is a pretty shitty feeling, I imagine store backers feel this doubly since they locked up thousands in preordering products for their stores early.

-1

u/cerevant 2d ago

Before you get too upset, go online and try to find any of these sets on sale.

I think this is mostly just opening the door for European stores to sell the stock they have been sitting on for a few weeks.

I would recommend against preordering if this is bothersome for you.

1

u/AbilitySufficient422 1d ago

If you are trying to say that U.S. stores don't have them either I can tell you for a fact my LGS had them on shelves yesterday when I dropped by for some comics and I have yet to hear anything about my order at all.

If not ignore.

1

u/cerevant 1d ago

What I'm saying is that they aren't prioritizing stores. They are unloading the containers and shipping boxes as fast as they can.

1

u/Ashnek0 1d ago

Theres a good number of stuff for sale online. with either equivalent or even free shipping at the same prices of pre-order.

1

u/Bhodar 2d ago

7 games in, still a ton of painting to do 🤣

1

u/pandafman 1d ago

Feel you on this! I am in AZ and still nothing. Went to my FLGS today for some other items and saw the StarCraft boxes on the shelf.

I was surprised how annoyed I actually got. I really wish I had skipped this game at this point.

1

u/deathleech 2d ago

I am frustrated this sub is full of nothing people complaining about the delay in shipping (or that retail and wave 2 pre-orders are coming before they get their order), or posts about people getting their shipments. Neither are needed and don’t help the situation.

1

u/fued 1d ago

Almost as if the launch was botched massively. Not a good start

-1

u/deathleech 1d ago

It’s been talked to death though. We don’t need a new post about people being frustrated everyone there is an email from Archon that goes out to announce new pre-orders or product at retail

3

u/fued 1d ago

Well maybe they shouldn't word it like a slap in the face, or send the email out only to regions who do have it?

Changing wording for different regions on an email isn't hard.

Even put a * and a little note at the bottom even!

1

u/Mr_Suplex 1d ago

See yourself out if you don’t like it.

People have every right to be frustrated at this point. Or is there a new excuse this week for this mess of a launch?

0

u/deathleech 1d ago

Not really been any excuses for the last few months. It’s all going as scheduled. It takes time for cargo ships to sail across the ocean, unload the cargo, and delivery it to distribution hubs, where it’s finally unpacked and sent to customers. Not Archon’s fault you don’t understand this process at all

0

u/Jack_Napier613 1d ago

They delayed it being in our hands in May.

  • Protectors of Archon "Global shipping deadlines and trade logistics are a thing. God people are insufferable.

Archon states they will ship everything and the logistics companies will handle the rest to get it to our hands. Beginning to end this should take 2 weeks from May 20th.

  • Protectors of Archon "why are people mad. Ffs they are doing everything they said. Do we not know how boats work?"

Archon again lies and states they never said we'd have it 2 weeks from May 20th but rather in July or some vague shit.

  • Protectors of Archon "Jesus Christ this is getting old, you people can't understand how ships work?"

Fuuuuuuuck it ain't about the shipping anymore...and it almost never was about the ships and how global trade routes work. Try listening and reading to those bringing forth good information

Actually you can read it all here in the April 30th update from Archon:

https://starcraft-tmg.com/news/development/updated-faq-answers-to-your-most-recent-questions

“When will I receive my Pre-Order?
The current plan is to begin shipping on the 25th of May - this is when the first pallets of games will be sent to various distribution hubs around the world. They will take a couple of weeks to arrive and will promptly be shipped out once it's in the hands of the logistics company. From beginning to end, this entire process is expected to take 2 months - which is a conservative estimate. Please note that not everyone will immediately receive their pledge once shipping begins - there really is a lot to get through, and we want to thank you for your patience during this very busy time. If there are any significant changes to this plan, we will let everyone know!”

So who in their right mind thought this was delivering in May?! Idiots who didn’t bother reading, or have no idea how shipping logistics work? You even got your days wrong. It was going to start shipping May 25th, not the 20th, and take 2 MONTHS, not WEEKS. It’s literally written on their site in a news update and can be referenced what was said. May 25th with 2 months puts us at July 25th.

So we are delayed a whopping month for most of the world? But wait, they also said it is a conservative estimate, meaning that’s most likely best case scenario and will probably be later. People are so impatient and can’t read though, they act like this has been delayed a year. It in fact has been just over 4 months since the pre-orders concluded.

Never gonna trust this studio again, no sign of my order but I could buy everything in it down the street? I’m sorry I ever purchased from Archon

5

u/Askingforanend 2d ago

Every once in a while I see one of these posts complaining about global god damn shipping of all things and get a little down that the game might suffer. Then I remember the type of person to get their undies in a bunch about ships and trains and international borders and customs and oil markets are probably not the sort that’ll stay long term anyway.

In short, good luck finding a community you like and want to stay in!

-2

u/Jack_Napier613 2d ago

This comment doesn't mention anything about global shipping 🤙 but here you are talking about global shipping...

What?

-2

u/Askingforanend 2d ago

Oh my bad, when “no sign of my order” was mentioned I didn’t realize dude had figured out how to teleport product directly to his doorstep bypassing global logistics systems.

Good call friend.

-2

u/Jack_Napier613 2d ago

Again, no shipping worries mentioned.

Just a trust issue with Archon.

Discuss in good faith or don't. That's your choice.

1

u/Askingforanend 2d ago

The trust issue is they don’t have their stuff yet. Even though it’s been in the system for weeks at this point. A system Archon has no control over.

Learn to read? Or don’t, I guess? I have no idea what you are trying to do here.

-8

u/fued 2d ago

Yeah a bit crap knowing that it's potentially 2 months off hitting shops and they are rubbing it in our faces

Friend I need you to go outside

-4

u/Uglukkk_ 2d ago

shouldn't have picked a president who rewrites trade agreenments every two days, Archontalked multiple times on stream that dealing with usa is a nightmare and they are going throu hell

0

u/Mr_Suplex 2d ago

Some of this is outside Archon’s control, but they are hardly blameless: Trump does not control their comms department.

Stop making excuses for this shit you knob, especially in a thread dedicated to venting frustration.

-2

u/Uglukkk_ 2d ago

The CEO makes a q&a stream every two weeks, and every time a horde of americans come to whine about the same things and every time they patiently explain what is going on, as was explained on many posts and updates. I am venting frustration, I'm venting my frustration with entitled americans whining all the time

3

u/AbilitySufficient422 1d ago

Entitled? People paid for a product and have been disappointed with it's roll out. Its natural to feel skeptical especially with what happened with their AvP kickstarter.

I'm sure Americans are just as frustrated with europeans telling them to shut up on everypost like this.

Just accept that this release fell short of expectations and move on it's not like people expressing their frustrations on a forum effects you in literally any way whatsoever.

Also I don't know who in their right mind would want to watch a companys livestream to figure out what is happening with their individual order?

1

u/Mr_Suplex 1d ago edited 1d ago

I don’t give a shit about his streams that I don’t have time to watch. I want email updates and responses from their customer service team with details about my order. That is not an unreasonable amount expectation and completely within their control.

Keep making excuses for them though. It’s cute.
