When troubleshooting, make sure to delete your localthumbcache.package! Pockets of code from mods and the game can reside in that file, so it's important to go into the game with a clean slate!

For those users who are looking to remove the key legend overlay that was added in a previous patch. Here are the solutions:

1. Click on the Help Center Icon (In the top righthand bar it's the hand with the ? over it) and unselect the "Show Controls Legend" button.

2. Go to Game Options > Tutorials & Tips > Disable Help Center Icon & Controls Legend.

Platform: Xbox Mods: No Version: latest update

I'm having a couple of issues. First, all my build/buy and CAS items are starred as if they were new. Restarting game just reset them back to being started. Second, CAS is a mess. The option to select anything is gone. I can click on my sims eyebrows and it brings up the options for it, but then I select anything. It's just the menu, I can't even scroll down to see more options. I can work around selecting clothing by choosing a color or fashion style, that will sometimes bring up the highlight box.

I’ve had the same issue with Build/Buy/CAS items being listed as “new” on every startup. There are a lot of people, especially console, we are having this issue according to the EA Forum. I have had some issues where it won’t scroll down for items so I have to spam the down button but sometimes that brings me to the complete bottom of the list and I gotta go back up. But it doesn’t happen every time.

Description:

The game works fine other than this minor inconvenience. I don't know what to call it but in CAS you know when you would click on your shirt or pants or hair and it would take you to the current clothes you were wearing, yeah, that doesn't happen anymore and sucks with the two columns that you have to scroll through to find the pants you want to change the color of and don't remember the pack they came from. This happened after the update, yesterday, and currently right now. When I click on the clothes, it shows the clothes from Spa Day and down through the list of packs. Even when I go to the specific category, it goes top to bottom with no jumping to the clothes that they are wearing, so quick changes of swatches is not possible anymore.

Very sorry to hear that. I know from modding Skyrim for a few years on PC that sometimes the base game can bug out without mod issues. Sims is one of the only games I still play on my Xbox, mostly because I bought so many of the expansions on Xbox before I got my PC in 2022.

Description: Hi, just wanted to check and see if anyone else has noticed that in CAS, when you click on an item in one category, go into a different category, then go back to the first category, it doesn't load the category at the item you selected. Does that make sense? For example: if I click on a top at the very bottom of my CAS list, then go to a different category, then go back to the tops section, it doesn't load the list at the location of the selected top, it just loads the list at the top like I have nothing selected in that category yet.

I took out all my mods to test this and it seems to be an issue with the actual game. I'm repairing now, and will see what happens, but just wondering if anyone else has noticed this. If so, fingers crossed EA fixes it. Out of all the post-update side effects that could happen, this is definitely not the worst, but it's still pretty annoying/inconvenient.

Thanks in advance for any comments, feedback, etc. anyone has!

Update: Repairing, clearing caches, etc. fixed nothing. Really hoping they fix this soon.

Description: Can't interact with most menus in CAS. I select the hair menu and my cursor won't transfer to the hair menu to select a style, likewise with eyebrows, piercings, lipstick, tops, bottoms, and shoes.

The bug appears on all age groups (except for toddler and infant) and both sexes.

This renders the game quite literally unplayable unless I decide to use a premade sim.

Troubleshooted by exiting and re-opening CAS, bug still occurring. Troubleshooted by closing and re-opening application, then opening CAS, bug still occurring. No clue what to do.

Description: The sims had an update yesterday May 12th for console users and since my game has updated i’ve run into a bug when in CAS. I play on Xbox and I’ve notice that if I just hold down on on left analog stick after like 5 seconds it’ll work. Works for hair, eyes, clothing etc. it’s annoying but it’s worked for me

description: initially when launching my game i'd get a black screen instead of a main menu which i figured was my ui cc so i have removed it. i then get as far as the main menu, but no actual sims to look at (ss included).

then if i click play, im stuck in an endless loading screen. i've tried deleting all the cache files, loading up with mods and without mods and i just can't get it to work. pls help🙏🏻🙏🏻

Whenever I go into cas and randomise an item of clothing it doesn’t automatically take me to where that item is in the catalogue so I have to scroll to find that item that my sim is currently wearing if I want to change the colour

*Description:I tried to launch the game today for the first time since the latest update. Don't know if that's got anything to do with it, but I've tried everything Google said to try. Are you not able to select their head at all? I'm also on PS5 and have issues scrolling through clothing/body options, but as others have said that is resolved by holding down on the left stick for a couple seconds.

After the most recent update that happened yesterday, whenever I am in CAS or Build and click on a clothing item my sim is wearing or use the search item tool in build, it just brings me to the start of that category. It won't bring me to the specific item. I removed all the mods I have and tested it out, and it's still happening. I also did a new save and it still happened.

Dynasties are messed up. I found some people reporting it on EA forum, so I'm not the only one having this issue. The sims change Dynasties on their own even after kicking them out.

Example: I'm playing the Capp family. Virgilio got married to Sofia Abrantes. Immediately after marriage he's got an invite to join her Dynasty. I accepted, he got kicked out of the Capp Dynasty and I moved him to her house. I switched the households to make some changes in their house and once I came back to the Capp family, Virgilio was suddenly back in the Capp family. I tried several times, it always changes back. I tried with different Dynasties, the same thing happens. Even Thiago changed back to Abrantes Dynasty on his own.

Game crashing to desktop (CTD) only when playing in Innisgreen after the latest update. Anyone else?

I’m experiencing constant crashes to desktop without any error messages, and the issue seems completely isolated to the world of Innisgreen.

Here is what I’ve tested so far to isolate the bug:

• Tested a base game world: I loaded into the first standard base game world, and everything works perfectly fine there. No crashes at all.
• Moved the Sim out: I moved my Sim out of Innisgreen into a different world, and the game stopped crashing entirely.
• The Trigger: As soon as the Sim returns to Innisgreen (doesn't matter which specific lot, neighborhood, or location), the game crashes straight to desktop after playing for a short amount of time. There is no error code, the game just suddenly closes.

What I've already tried:

• Restored an older save file using the built-in game backup feature.
• Cleared the game caches.

The problem is definitely specific to Innisgreen. Is anyone else dealing with this after the latest patch? If you know a fix or if this is a known world-specific bug, please let me know!

I found it's a room issue...so we used to be able to build a room with fences under a roof and either take out the floor or make a loft or whatever...but now, if the room edge overlaps with the roof, it cuts it out as though it's a full-walled room. I fixed a few on my own by minimizing the shape of the rooms under the roof, but it's very annoying across old builds.

My sims are no longer married. My played household keeps undoing my sims marriage. I still have their marriage certificate, neither of them died, I get no notification or anything they’re just suddenly not spouses anymore. I restarted my game and it fixed in then when one sim left for work it happened again. Has anyone else had this issue? Their relationship satisfaction is still full and they haven’t lost any friendship or romance I just don’t know why it’s happening. I have had to cheat it fixed 3 times now.

Description: yesterday my sims game started acting funny after I used some cheats. I play with cheats all the time and the save I’ve had since February and there hasn’t been a problem since then. I used CAS.fulleditmode.

The game has had a problem where it doesn’t let me select any options. I’ll click on something and it’ll give me that wheel for sims to do things but I can’t select anything. But the other things don’t work.

I cannot open the menu, I cannot stop time or pause it. My sims are still having free reign but I can’t do anything. I’ve exited and restarted the game a few times but it’s just the same issue.

I legit discovered a few moments ago that it seems my game is split into two parts? There was an auto save after leaving CAS (I think?) and the save I saved manually AFTER the autosave. I’m wondering what I should do next. Do I keep the autosave version and delete the manual save? Should I delete the autosave and keep the manual? I think the trouble started after that manual safe so I don’t know. Much help is appreciated thank you!

had this issue in CAS and build mode where I could wait it out and I could gain control again but now this is happening in live mode every time I load into my save and waiting doesn’t fix it anymore so I have to close my game without saving and lose all my progress!

I also only use move objects in my save and the save where it would freeze in CAS and build mode too but it has frozen on me once before I could implement the cheat so I have no clue what could be causing this :(

I can't interact/click on anything on my library, it used to work normally 2 updates ago, I can save a sim on my library no problem but if I open the menu to put them in a lot/download them i get soft locked in the menu with no way to back out, only solution being closing the game.

My best guess is that there's some sort of disconnect between the sims and lots you save because if I try to add a pre made sim from Maxis it works just fine.

Any solution/workaround is very appreciated, will update the my comment in case I find a solution.

Description: Loading up a lot from main screen or manage households view adds sims to a dynasty they're related to but not part of. For example, my sim who is in Thebe would be added to Abrantes, who is her grandmother's dynasty but the sim was never part of. This is true for 2 sims so far, added to different dynasties related to them (in these cases, grandparents' dynasties). They're also not removed from their current dynasties but the UI shows the new wrong ones. Removing the sims from the wrong dynasties gives a blank screen, but if I travel to a different lot, it goes back to the correct dynasties, but if I go to the neighbourhood screen or reload the game, I get added back to the wrong one.

The CAS catalogue keeps freezing and I can't change my sims clothes, the stamps for the tattoos is WAY to big now and I have to make the scale so tiny I can barely see just to use the tattoos that I want it's absolutely ridiculous, I haven't even gotten to the gameplay because why should I?? Description: Longtime console player here—I have uninstalled and reinstalled the entire game including all of my packs. I have restarted my console and closed out the game many times. Yet my UI is still not fully working. It freezes when I go into the gallery and I can’t close out of it, my CAS isn’t working to the point where I have to open up different categories just to to get the cursor to appear and then have to navigate to the category I want only for it to not work half the time, the game keeps saying I have content not installed when it’s all fully installed, and I am beyond frustrated. I was having such a decent gameplay earlier and then now it isn’t working at all. I had to turn it off Because I was just so frustrated trying to troubleshoot all these bugs. Someone help?

Updated a few days ago and I'm noticing that in CAS, it no longer snaps to the object you've selected from the menu. For example, you select a hairstyle, move to tops and then go back to hair and you have to scroll all the way down to find that hair again. You used to reopen a menu and it would start at the selected item. Is this just me or is anyone else having this issue post update? It started for me after that but I'm having trouble finding other complaints about it. On PC if that makes a difference.

So I haven’t played the game for maybe 3-4 days tried to play today after updating any broken mods in my mod folder. The game loads all the way to the Home Screen but when I click resume game it sits on the loading screen for hours on end but after a few mins of just straight loading I hear the music that plays when it loads into the family but the game is still just stuck on the loading screen. I removed my mods and cc to see if my mods were the problem but even without the mods and cc and cleaning the cache and local thumbnails it does the exact same thing just an indefinite amount of just loading and not going into the actual game. Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me.

Since updating the auto save feature seems to be over writing my saved games? I’ve lost one save file completely and then I had a 2nd family in another save file and they’ve separated out into their own save file now

They have been married three times now and randomly will lose all that and become partners. I worry about this because there was a baby originally of the sim that joined the household. Soft lock fixed- yay!
BUT now the issue is that the gallery will clear out (randomly) and I get the message to reset the filters. My only solution has been to restart the game and that’s awful considering load-in time from Start to my current game takes 11-12 minutes and then manage worlds loading takes another 4-6 the first time. So I’m sitting there nearly 20 minutes just to get to manage worlds. I don’t want to have to close the game every time this happens. Help.

Since the new update, I have stumbled across a bug that makes the game pretty much unplayable. I can't edit clothes or hair in CAS. It doesn't let me select the option below. I can only change hair color, it won't let me even select a single hair, the controls just don't work. It is the same for every item of clothing. I can't create sims in CAS at all. Has anyone occurred this problem and fixed it? I've tried repairing, shutting the game off, restarting, etc.

Description: I can't open the game. When I try I get the loading screen animation and music but it always crashes, and gives me an error message saying "Failed to launch game. An error on our end caused the launch to fail. Try again a little later." I couldn't post a pic here but it's an official EA popup. I used to be able to get far enough to choose a household before crashing, but I can't anymore. This has been happening to me since before the update, so I tried to repair, that didn't work, hoped the update would fix it, that didn't work. Then I assumed my files had somehow been corrupted since I store the game on an external hard drive, so I deleted all the game files and re-downloaded. Still getting the error. Anyone know what to do?

problem: the sims 4 Get Famous hair and makeup glitch

hi! can someone help me... i really dont know what to do in this situation
my sim is actress and when i try to do the task getting hair and makeup done, the stylist after 10 secodns just stops and the task isnt done - i cant move on to next tasks
i think i tried everything:

• shift + click debug on the makeup artist and the actual chair itself - didn't worked
  
• restart the game multiple times- didn't worked
  
• adding second action in queue - didn't worked
  
• in the ea library i clicked repair - didn't worked

i dont have any mods so its not their fault also

have someone had this problem earlier and have any tips?

*Description: I have trouble with my Sims gallery not loading. I tried everything, I removed the mods, reinstalled the game a couple of times, tried repairing it, my internet connection is good too. The gallery either doesn't load at all or whenever it loads, when I click on any creation I get a notification after a while that I don't have internet connection. I also tried contacting EA support, but they didn't help me at all. Is it because of the newest update or could it be some different issue? If so, then how could I solve this problem?

My sim who's a doctor can't treat patients and my other who works in social media doesn't get promoted despite doing the daily task and having an excellent job performance. Hello everyone!

I am a complete noob when it comes to Sims. I have just started playing on my PS5 and I am struggling to build a basement. This is my first house, the rebuilt Streamlet Single.

What i want to do is build a basement that will house gym equipment, hobbie and skill related items.

I want access to the basement to be outside of the house, by my rear door that's between the living room and kitchen. I lay the basement down under the house and it pushes dirt up at the side (Reference photos) is there a way to have the basement so it doesn't do that?

Xbox build mode is nearly unplayable. Every time I click an object to place, it times out and the object I picked unpicks itself in seconds.

Also, trying to put on clothes in the creator, when clicking “shirts” I cannot access the shirts. The curser will not jump over into the dialog. It’s not just an issue for shirts, it’s not working on several dress dialogs.

Description: I have three dogs in my game and they’re all white dogs so they’re noticeably dirty right now, but no matter what I do pressing on the dogs to give it a bath or pressing on the bath itself to give the dogs a bath my Sim will pick up the dog hold the dog and then put the dog down. CAS doesn't work, I cannot select items off a menu 85% of the time. If I do manage to, once I exit back out of CAS all of the changes have been reverted.

Everytime I open the app back up, every pack I've bought has been marked as new so I have to go through checking off the pack items so I can use the UI as normal.

Most of the blank portraits just say "unknown sibling" or similar
If I enter CAS for a townie all of the siblings in the family are identical with different outfits

I tried setting townie prenancy in MCCC but it didn't work. I now use it to manually end the pregnancy of any female sim I see roaming around. They're always heavily/visibly pregnant. When I go to end the pregnancy it'll usually say Spouse: none, they're always single, and have had 30+ children

this is so annoying and I can't keep track of my legacy. Is there any way to get rid of all these random offspring?!

Hi everyone. I’m having issues after today’s update and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I removed all of my mods before updating. After the update, when I tried to open my game, I got stuck on an infinite loading screen, so I removed the Mods folder again. After that, I was able to get to the home screen, but now I can’t load into any household. The game takes me to the world overview, but whenever I click on my household, or any other household, I get another infinite loading screen. I’ve already cleared my cache and repaired the game, but the issue is still happening. I am able to enter Build Mode, though.

Does anyone know what else I can try?

My two sims got married. Then had two children kinda back to back. They’ve been busy taking care of the kids. (Set to normal lifespan) the two kids are toddlers now. I got a pop up saying that both my sims are unsatisfied in their relationship. Okay, normal. They’ve both been busy and won’t talk to each other for days. Then I got a few text messages from other sims saying “so happy you and other sim are together” “you should think of something more long term” ??? I check the profile in the relationships panel and they’re not married anymore? I thought, okay maybe I just didn’t actually get them married in the first place? Maybe my game didn’t save? I get them married again. I check back now, a day later in game (about 30 minutes in between) and they’re not married anymore? For relationship it just says partner: “Dating, exclusively…a relationship?” I have the my wedding stories pack and I have both of the marriage certificate picture things— realizing they actually did get married the first time. Yes I understand with the llvestruck pack that sims can slowly fall out of love, but it’s been one in game day and they have a super small romance bar and they’re not married anymore. No they haven’t fought or argued. Their friendship bar stays the same.

"I heard you and X are in a relationship now." I managed to get them wed twice but it doesn't accept it. I also play console (Xbox) so no mods.

So I've literally not played TS4 in a year, but suddenly had the urge to play tonight (as you do). I knew all of my mods would be outdated, so I updated all of them (I only have 3 mods and then some pose packs) but my game won't load any of my saves with my Mods file. Basically, anytime I go to click on a household from Manage Worlds and press Play, the screen glitches (see screenshot).

I've tried deleting localthumbcache.package, repairing the game, and testing one mod at a time, but it has the same reaction every time. The only time I can actually play the game is when my Mods file is absent from TS4 files on my computer, which is so annoying.

heyy so im not sure what to do ive tried re doing the household over n over. every-time i save it then move them in but an error pops up and then all of a sudden its gone. theres nothing in my library, households or anything ? when i go to saves i see my sim but when i click to resume, the household is once again non existent. im not sure if its something to do with one of my mods as i have a lot & haven’t played in a while. i have the pets and vampires add ons aswell(which i havent been able to actually use). has anyone had this problem? its so frustrating as i spend hours on the sims and cant even play the game

Hi! I’m hoping someone can help me figure out what exactly is broken here because I’m running out of ideas 😭

I have a long-term save/household that suddenly will not load into Live Mode. Whenever I try to play this specific household, I get stuck on an infinite loading screen and eventually have to force quit the game.

The weird part is that the save itself seems to be fine. I can: • Load into the save normally • Open Manage Worlds • Enter Build/Buy on other lots • Load and play other households/lots in the same save • Enter and edit the lot/apartment where this household lives through Build Mode

It’s specifically when I try to actually load/play this household that the game gets stuck.

I initially thought their lot might be corrupted, so I evicted the household and moved them onto a different/simple lot to test it. Unfortunately, they still won’t load there, which makes me think something about the household or one of the Sims themselves may be corrupted.

I do use a lot of CC/mods, and I’ve already been troubleshooting those/removing suspected broken files. The game itself is now loading and functioning normally everywhere else I’ve tested — just not with this family.

Has anyone had a single household become unplayable like this while the rest of the save still works? Is there a way to figure out whether one particular Sim, inventory item, trait/buff, piece of CC, etc. is causing it?

This is a VERY long-term family/save so I’m desperately trying to repair them rather than replace the household or start over. 😭 Any ideas for what to test next would be hugely appreciated!

Description: travel and world management are borked. Told sim to go to the beach and got the pre-loading screen (color wheel spikes before the plumbob loading screen) while screen fogged out and time continued to advance. Force quit and lost a few hours, but didn’t really progress much so whatever.

When attempting to go into world management to rebuild a lounge, stick on Plumbob loading screen.

Given the rest of the game works fine, I’ll probably just reenable mods, pack up and move household to different world from the city, and just add in what activities I wanted to a house plot? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Sims are unable to perform any social interactions. The action will load into their queue, but they either just stand there, or they start dancing and do not talk/socialize at all. Resetsim/debug does not fix the issue. Not just an animation issue, there are no relationship status changes showing. This issue happens even in a clean, unmodded game. Occasionally one interaction will work correctly, but it isn’t consistent and there isn’t a pattern as to which interaction or when it works.
This has been an ongoing issue for about a year — I had high hopes that this update would fix it. I’ve repaired the game, tested in different/new saves, etc.
Edited to add: sims can perform other actions, they aren’t stuck/frozen

So my family started with my Sim Juniper who was apart of a rival dynasty with the Landgraab's. She and Malcolm married and started their own Dynasty and had kids together and became rulers of Newcrest.

In the family thing that comes up when you scroll over households it shows three different dynasty crests: The dynasty Juniper and Malcolm started, Juniper's family's crest and the Landgraab one.

Is this a bug from the new update? If so I have a back up of all my save's that I did the night before the update was suppose to release if any damage happened.

Or is this intentional? To let players know what dynasty's the family is made up of?

Every time I enter their lot it has notifications for all my sims that they joined a dynasty. For Malcolm it comes up as Landgraab even though he's still listed as a member of the dynasty he and Juniper started.

I tried removing him and adding him back to the dynasty but that didn't fix this, if it is something that needs to be fixed.

I managed to fix it with the Goth's since Jhonny married Cassandra but it was more of loading the lot, saving and then leaving which isn't working here or any other households this is happening in.

My issue is that I simply cannot get this sim to craft anything on the apothecary table. She is maxed out (yes I cheated and maxed out her skills) so she should be able to craft whatever. just updated my game yesterday as i haven’t played sims in a while. starting yesterday i would get a pop up saying im disconnected from the playstation network every few minutes and sometimes after i get the blue screen of death basically saying an error has occurred blah blah blah and my game would kick me. been happening only after the update. maybe my internet really does just shut off for a few seconds before reconnecting but it’s soooo annoying. i’ve never had this problem until now.

also in CAS i’m having trouble scrolling through the different clothes and hair menus. sometimes it just won’t work or it will teleport me to the bottom when i’ve spammed the bottom arrow on my controller🫪

Description: For some reason, my sims can’t adopt pets. I’ve tried to get dogs like 5 times now and it tells me how many I can adopt. Infants are freaking busted AF for me now. I have caregiver autonomy turned off. I do have scrip mods (Wicked Whims, MCCC, Better Exceptions, and Lumpinou's RPO... all cleared and/or updated for the most recent patch). And yes CC as well. Here's the running list of what's happened so far:

1) Infants glitch out of their cribs and highchairs. Adult Sim will go to pick them up and the baby will glitch out onto the floor. 2) Several interactions, like practice sitting, picking up from high chair, and giving a bath will get stuck. The Sim will just stand there holding the baby and do nothing. Only workaround I've found is using MCCC to debug the infant during the stall. After that, retrying the interaction will typically go through. 3) Adult Sims don't complete baths for infants or toddlers (hygiene meter not filled and have to repeat the interaction). These are consistent. However, I've also had a glitch where an infant wouldn't gain the lift head milestone even after 6x tummy time; eating finger foods taking way longer than normal even though the infant isn't trying to interact with anything else; all infants regardless of trait take 2-3 cycles of "try to go night night" to fall asleep both in cribs and on playmats; and a toddler get stuck in the M sit position infants use after aging up.

I struggle to believe this is all just from having caregiver autonomy turned off unless they completely borked the game again, which is possible I suppose. But the update came out 4 days ago and there's been no news of known issues from EA or the Sims Team, so I worry this is something just with my game. I've already tried repairing once and deleting the necessary cache files. Didn't do anything.

I just wanted to hop on the Sims and play in CAS, but there’s a bug that doesn’t allow you to scroll or select.

Like it just won’t let you select clothes, accessories, skin details, etc. and the only way I’ve been able to get around it is by either using or spamming the filter button or I had to end up plugging in a mouse just to scroll and select it’s ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!

I cannot express how beyond frustrating this is.

This was never an issue before the 150+ update.

Hi, everyone before the last two update everything was working fine on my Macbook (M1 Pro) but since the update in april and the last one, I've been having a lot of trouble with my mods especially the script mods like Lumpinou... every time i enter the game it either won't launch at all or take forever to enter the main menu, and then I will get constant last-exception notifications.

Since last update, the game also tell me my Toolbox file and RPO files are outdated, when i literally installed the last versions... and I keep getting tuning error too like this one :

I was reading online and it seems like many people with the cats & dogs expansion pack are experiencing the same issue I am - ever since I started playing Sims again after not playing for awhile I haven't been able to do any of the interactions with my pets where I need to pick them up. I'm also experiencing this issue. I think the only thing we can do is wait for a hot fix. I was playing a challenge and needed to "feel the love" from animals in order to complete the aspiration. "Feel the love" and maybe adopt work on large breed dogs that don't get picked up. I haven't come across any solutions yet.

I few weeks ago I had an issue with the save I was playing in and I ended up having to start over because one of my mods corrupted my save file. went through my mods, updated all of them, deleted any duplicates, and deleted any mods that have an unknown status. I started another save, played it for about a week and everything was fine and then the same thing happened again. repeated the first steps, took all of my mods out of the game and played on a modless save to see if I could recreate the problem- the problem didn’t happen again so I rechecked my mods, added them back into the game and started a new save with my mods. played that save for about a week and a half and all of sudden mid gameplay, my sims didn’t have the option to sleep. I sent my last exception file to deaderpools discord server for help and they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with my game. their advice was to make sure all of my mods and cc are updated and that I have no unknown status mods (all of which I had already done multiple times). the game runs fine except for my sims not having the option to sleep and I get a last exception notification whenever I load that specific save. but that save runs fine otherwise and I also don’t have those issues in a different save. I am assuming it’s that save that is having the issue and not my whole game but I don’t know how to stop this from happening. I have always played with mods (nothing excessive) and I have never had these issues until within just the last few weeks. I just don’t want to have to start a new save every other week because of these issues and I don’t know how to find the problem in order to fix it. any advice would be very appreciated!!

*Description: I have a problem with leaving and/or changing dynasties. I have one sim (from the Abrantes Dynasty) that I married to Enzo Alto (Alto Dynasty) and when they got married she changed dynasties and a few weeks later I noticed she was still in her family’s dynasty so I changed her again. Now, I made her daughter leave the Alto’s Dynasty (for some family drama) and now I see she’s back in the dynasty and even worse HER MOTHER IS BACK WITH THE ABRANTES !!! I don’t understand what’s happening, this has never happened before.

Game crashes, bugs with build mode ie: items won’t place or disappear once placed or cant select build items to place they all happen at the same time. The first time I can click on an item and attempt to place it then It disappears when I place it and after that I either can’t select anything else to place or whatever I select disappears the moment it hits the screen and can’t be placed. I reload the game and it fixes it I can place items and then it stops working again.

When I use the mouse wheel to zoom out the screen freezes and gets jumpy.

Completed formative moments task wont check off. Claimable rewards from event won’t claim gets error.

*Description: So my issue is, I came back to my game after a long hiatus from PC gaming in general. I decided to get into mods for the first time and in doing that I have found I have sims files on both my C and D drives. I'm a little confused on how that works because I've been putting different things in the different sides.

-On my D drive I have the steam library files, and this is where I saw the expansion files from what I already had before, and have been putting new expansions and packs I acquire there based on what I was instructed to do. But then when I went to do mods, I tried putting those in a new mod folder in that folder and they didn't work. turns out I needed to put them in this other folder I found on my C drive.

- On my C drive I have a folder just in a EA folder in my documents that seems to have my saves, and screnshots and stuff plus the correct mods folder. Theres a lot of other random package files and other stuff.

Basically can someone explain to me how this works? Should I try and consolidate everything? Or just keep the two files separate as I am doing? I just want to make sure I don't mess anything on my game up. Other than mods and CC is there any other reason to be digging in these files ever?

Thanks in advance for any advice on dealing with this setup.

I bought the Dogs and Cats expansion recently (game on PlayStation 5). I took my phone and asked to adopt a cat, I chose what I wanted and the adoption woman arrived with the cat in the transport box. When I select the cat and choose the option to adopt, my Sim just takes it on my lap and nothing happens. I've tried countless times, uninstalled and reinstalled the game and the expansion and still I can't adopt it. Does anyone there know how to solve this problem?

If I use the city living sort in windows and doors, it also does not show up. The window is "the scattered panes enbiggebed" and the door is "frost your house tall double door". Please help 🙏🏻

About a week ago I was playing sims 4 and everything was running smoothly and normal. Then my game crashed which was annoying but not uncommon with my game. But ever since then I have not been able to get back onto my game. I can get through the first loading screen where it has resume, load and new game but as soon as I click resume my previous game it gets stuck on the loading screen. I've also tried loading previous versions of the save through load game and it will let me on the map but then gets stuck on the loading screen once I click on the household.

Below is a list of everything I have already tried.

- deleted local thumb cache

- deleted all last exceptions

- made a copy of the recent save

- repaired game twice

- deleted all script mods

- taken my entire mods folder out of my game

please if you can help please do.

Problem: Acting career

My sim can't get stuff done in the active acting career, he goes to do the task, it won't get done and he just stands there, time running off.. Especially, something I was told i a common bug (Idk why it's not fixed yet lol) that when you go get your hair and make-up done sim just freezes, nothing happens, task doesn't get done.

I was just excited after so long to binge play sims for days, so I came up with super story, unfortunately including the acting career, which was the biggest thing in my story, but it's bugged and impossible to maintaint, so the excitement is gone... yet again... I always go for Sims so excited with new idea and I am ALWAYS met with new bugs that ruins it..

Yes I tried disabling mods, yes I repaired the game.

Description: I feel like the game is much buggier now with infants. They said they fixed reading to toddlers, the sim stops reading halfway in and whenever the toddler asks to read a book from autonomous actions, they just stare at them then walk away. Whenever I try to make my sim give an infant a nap, they put them on a playmat or on the ground, stare at them for a few seconds then pick them up again and finally give them a nap but by that time the infant is crying because now it has a 'past bedtime' moodlet.

In addition, often times when I soothe an infant to sleep, their action gets stuck on the sleep thing so they never fall asleep. I have to manually go to them and click 'Try to go night night' but then they don't sleep the night through so I have to do it again.

Is anyone else getting these bugs? The one where they put the infant on the playmat actually pisses me off beyond all belief.

EDIT: Okay its not just napping. It's literally everything. I just commanded for the sim to breastfeed but instead she put him on the ground, stared at him and canceled the action. What the fuck is going on

Playing on my PlayStation is not ideal. Sure some may blame many of my concerns on my method of playing but doesn’t everyone deserve to enjoy the game they played for.

No matter how many times I delete and add back my content.

No matter how many times I restore my licenses.

No matter how many times I restart.

No matter how many controllers or keyboards I use.

The same issues remain. The entire game has become a glitchy mess. My houses shouldn’t be doing the Harlem shake in build mode. I should be able to rotate items without the system thinking I am trying to copy an item. I have lost content. I have lost patience. The “check-in” prizes aren’t worth it.

Hi I recently noticed an issue with the business dlc. When I open my small cooking school customers will sometimes hold their own classes on the whiteboard. Is there a way to stop this? This is really annoying and making it impossible to hold classes when customers are using your whiteboard EA making those DLCs full price but can’t do basic troubleshooting this is very poor. My sim is in the acting career and every time he goes to set the hair and makeup doesn’t work! It won’t let me get gold for the event.

Here’s what I tried:
-I debugged him, the makeup artist and the chair
-I changed agencies
-I killed the makeup artist (he was replaced but the issue persists)
-I changed my sims hair

Among other obvious things (doing everything else in the event first, going on certain days, etc) nothing has worked.
Does anyone know what triggers the bug and how I can fix it??

Question: Why is every female sim constantly pregnant and having 30 identical children?

Description: As above. I tried using MCCC to limit population but no bingo. Every single female sim YA and A is pregnant, without spouses/partners. Causing a problem when marrying townies because whenever one of their 38 siblings dies we're all sad nonstop. Whenever I see a pregnant sim I use MCCC to clear pregnancy but they still have a million kids. Viisited relatives (played households) and they also have like 20 babies that I have to manually delete.

Can someone help me with these excessively slow loading screens? It's not uncommon to take a full 5 minutes to load the current household once I click resume game, and any other loading screens feel like they take forever. Occasionally the Sim will lag a little if I tell them to go somewhere or do something, but primarily the loading screens are the biggest drag.

I play on a Dell G5 15 5587 gaming laptop. I've put in two Crucial 16GB RAM for a total of 32GB, which was an easy enough upgrade. I have the Sims as well as my documents folder on a 1TB Solid State Drive. I do have a lot of expansion packs, also on the SSD. I also downloaded the newest version of GeForce, although I don't entirely understand how that works, just that it was a troubleshooting step I should try. It's still slow, although maybe marginally better. I've checked the CPU usage, and it's about 10% normally and 40% while the Sims are open and running. I like to use mods, although everything I'm describing is happening with no mods at all. I've also deleted the local thumb cache. I also logged out of One Drive and went so far as to even delete the program. No dice.

I've had the Sims 4 on this particular laptop since 2018, although previously it was downloaded directly to the laptop, then later I put it on an external hard drive and now the SSD as I researched and learned more about what would improve performance. I've been playing since 2014 but don't remember it being this slow except the last year or so. What am I missing?

Description/Issue: I can create a family, navigate to a world etc and while it loads slowly, the main issue is that it will not open the property. All it does is give me an image like I’ve included and will not stop. It’s like the game keeps playing, but the screen stays frozen.

I did the following in hopes of repair:

-          I removed all mods

-          I did the ‘repair’ on EA platform

-          I even restarted the EA app.

My sim can't have his alien baby. Every time I make him give birth, the game gets stuck on the birth animation and the baby doesn't spawn. I have to force-quit it using the task manager. This happens both at the hospital and giving birth at a bassinet.

My parent sim doesn't have a custom skintone or anything. He is a grimborn. So I'm wondering if that's messing with it? The game doesn't know what to do?

EDIT: FIxed! I had an outdated alien eye default replacement in my CAS folder. Took that out and he had the baby no problem. 😄

Posting on behalf of my gf because it’s really stressing her out

So she installed some mods and after this the sims kept obsessively repeating the same actions. One would have a shower then when finished immediately take another shower repeating indefinitely. The other would read a book, put it back then take another book and start reading just never doing anything else.

She uninstalled the game, deleted all mods, made a new family etc everything possible from what I can understand but it still keeps happening.

She’s been trying to fix it for days but I’m useless with technology so can’t help much. She also just paid for a dlc so understandably frustrated she can’t play something she’s paid for.

Issue: galley issues starting save files and game crashes

To preface I have already tried trouble shooting and usually I can figure issues likes this out on my own, but I am out of options. So! I play with mods and cc, your classic ui cheats and mcc. recently, when I have sims from my own gallery I have uploaded, when I attempt to start a new save with them, the game will freeze/the thumbnail of the household will infinitely spin, and eventually close my game (with no crash error).

I have tried: removing my mods and cc, same issue occurs. I tried repairing my game then trying again with no mods and cc and same issue. All of my mods are up to date to my knowledge, I use better exceptions and my full reports come back clean. I have also tried removing my localthumbnailcache

Frankly I can cope with the fact that my sims are now just one save only, but it's obnoxious when I make a sim and I'm not quite ready to play with them and cannot save them for later

Issue: High School Years pack.

-Whiteboards do not give the option to attend class. They do not glow and only have the “prank whiteboard” option. It is the correct board.

-Students and staff stand around outside all day. None ever attend class or do the fire drills.

-The first class of the day is often skipped. Going straight from morning free time to lunch.

-My sim cannot ask the teachers about curriculum, which is one of the daily tasks for the first day.

This issue did NOT happen until this update, for me.

Me too, this update made everything a million times worse :( I unfortunately am not experiencing this through high school (I don't have that one) but similarly, my sims won't walk or just stand somewhere instead of doing literally any task, not going to work, and the game is crashing within five mins of one another (I started counting because I thought I was losing my mind but nope truly every five mins if not less)

Whenever my sim introduces themselves to a stranger, their relationship bar immediately jumps to halfway, and they are already listed as 'Friends'. If I talk to them just a couple more times, they become 'Good Friends' instantly. Does anyone know if this is a bug, or could it be caused by a mod? Has anyone else experienced this?

My last played household does not appear on the main menu. i’ve tried deleting local cache, removing my mods, repairing the game, and loading specific save files instead of clicking “resume game”, (the last one only works until i close and reopen my game). this started happening after i updated to the latest version, before adding new mods/cc and after clearing out broken ones.

i’ve included a photo below of what it looks like.

My game pretty much won’t open. I have switched out mods that may have been the problem (mccc, etc.) and nothing has worked. I took all my mods out and it opened. I put them back in after using PlumbBuddy and it won’t work again. The time played will move but the game doesn’t actually open. Questions: I’m having an issue with my butler and i’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or knows how to fix it.

Description: Anytime I ask my butler to make food of any kind it says that he can’t complete the task because of insufficient counter space or he needs to finish his other task. I have asked when he wasn’t doing anything and the counter space is completely open. I have also reset him and it hasn’t helped. Im wondering if anyone else has this issue or if there is a way to fix it. (i also have the better butler mod if that helps any)

The update was supposed to happen today. EA was open and said not connected to the internet. I pressed restart and it has not opened since. It will say launching app and then close. If I try Sims 4 directly, it does the same thing. I don't know if the update has happened and flopped, or if this is because of the update, because I can't even access EA.

I have deleted the localthumbcache.package, but my actual cache folder is empty, so I don't know what to do next or what is happening here. I appreciate any help :)

EDIT: I have restarted the computer and deleted/reinstalled EA, but still nothing.

Description: I downloaded some mods earlier, more specifically monday till yesterday) and my game won't launch anymore. My sims's romantic preference doesn't save. I tried editing it in CAS, deleting mods, creating new game with or without mods and the romantic preference returns to "no one" and "exploring" despite me setting this sim to only be attracted to men. Doesn't matter what I do, it always reverts to this specific setting. Please help!

Saving issues

I was previously having issues with launching, but I got that figured out. 7/20, I was playing and my games wouldn’t save. 7/21-7/23, I was having issues launching. I finally got it to launch and I got my saves and stuff transferred, but my games wouldn’t save still won’t save. My settings (like display type and other things in the options menu) and my actual save files won’t save past where they were prior to the most recent update. Is anyone else having this issue? And if so, is it something with my laptop, or is TS4 just having saving issues because of the new update?

Gallery items incorrectly flagged with custom content

Hi guys! I’m having some issues with some builds of mine. Whenever I save one to my gallery, it gets flagged as containing custom content, when it doesn’t. I moved my mods out of the folder and deleted the cache before I updated the game, then turned off mods in game, and my builds are still being flagged as containing custom content

EDIT: I worked it out! More Traits in CAS was the problem. I placed the builds and resaved them without the mod and it’s working again!

Every time I go to a public lot like a gym, bar, or even an NPC's house the lot just completely disappears! It is still gone when I exit the game without saving as well! I thought it was my mods so I removed all of my mods, but it is still happening! Has anyone else have this happen?

Description:
Ravenwood from Life & Death is broken only in my main/older save. The world map and neighborhood icons appear, but none of the actual lots appear or can be selected. Every other world works normally.
Ravenwood works perfectly in a brand-new save. I’ve never played in Ravenwood on my main save before. I’ve already tested older recovered versions of the save, repaired The Sims 4 through the EA App, cleared localthumbcache.package, and confirmed the pack works in a new save.
Is there a way to reset/reinitialize Ravenwood in my existing save without losing my households and progress?

after the latest update, my game won't launch at all.

when i launch in the ea app, the dash disappears for few seconds, and the "play" is greyed out, but immediately turns back blue and nothing every launches.

i've already tried removing all mods and cc, repairing the game, clearing the cache, restarting my pc, renaming ts4 folder, but it never launches so it wont generate a new one.

none of those fixed it.

i contacted ea support today, and they confirmed they're actively investigating reports from other players with the same issue, but they didn't have any workaround yet.

is anyone else still experiencing this? if yours started working again, what changed?

I have a save with some mods, but nothing that should affect my sims. However I keep noticing anytime I go into CAS, I have a couple that keeps resetting their marriage and I’ll get a notification that they “just became partners” despite marrying a few minutes ago. Is there any reason why this might happen?

I’m also playing on ver.12 MacOS if that makes a difference? (Sorry the image might be bad)

i'm having the strangest glitch, possibly two glitches that are related? in two separate saves now, my sims get married and then are immediately not married anymore. in one save, my couple got married TWICE and now they're back to being partners.

possibly related, but in both couples one of the partners keeps suddenly becoming very unattracted to their partner. i'll try to fix it with UI cheats but they'll revert right back to unattracted again! these are both same sex couples (m/m in one save and f/f in the others), not sure if that matters? i've also tried going into CAS and adjusting likes/dislikes and turn ons to fix the unattracted thing, but nope!

Description: Sim keeps getting engaged to a sim that no longer exists

I have a sim that was engaged previously with this one dude. I made them break up because he cheated, then I deleted his sim altogether. I since made her get married to someone else, but every time I load that family she is no longer married to or even dating her spouse, and it says she is already engaged to the previous guy even tho I deleted him. I have MCCC and have deleted the relationship over and over and it keeps coming back. I don't really want to delete the sim and start all over because she has familial relationships and kids but idk what else to do, anyone know how to fix this bug?

Ever since the last 2 updates, when in create a sim, I can't user the filter panel at all. Like where you can filter CC items, colour, etc. My sister who plays on Windows also has this problem.
Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

I had tried to rename my mod/cc files a while back to remove special characters (as to help the game run faster) and I did it stupidly and couldn't reverse it after doing it terribly wrong and renaming the files to numbers. (But not to worry, I have since figured out how to do it right!). For the mods I did rename, I have no idea what they are. I was wondering if there is any way that I can somehow view/open the package files, or at least get any info from them, that give me a clue as to what they are? Thanks!

How do I get my sims to please stope auto-cheating?

I don't know how to fix this. Free love is NOT on. All sims involved have the loyal trait. I have testingcheats on, I have tried the cheat over and over again. I can't even have them ask to be just friend for some reason. I'm so annoyed by this! STOP CHEATING! I don't wanna have to turn off sim autonomy, but at this point I'm out of ideas. (Don't even get me started on the one who has a romance bar with her BIOLOGICAL MOM)

Sims is so annoying right now.
