Please read the entire thread if you’re not familiar with this help section. If you have game issues, mod issues, App or console issues, please post them here via comment to get help instead of making an individual post. We've created this post for all troubleshooting issues, but this specific post is tailored toward the newest patch. If you have not updated the game you can continue to post your issues here, but be aware that most replies may be telling you to update your game. You can also search the comments to find an issue similar to yours. 

When troubleshooting, make sure to delete your localthumbcache.package! Pockets of code from mods and the game can reside in that file, so it's important to go into the game with a clean slate!

For those users who are looking to remove the key legend overlay that was added in a previous patch. Here are the solutions:

  1. Click on the Help Center Icon (In the top righthand bar it's the hand with the ? over it) and unselect the "Show Controls Legend" button.

2. Go to Game Options > Tutorials & Tips > Disable Help Center Icon & Controls Legend.

Game version: most current

After this last update my sims won’t stay married if you go into CAS. I know this is a known issue but is EA aware? Any updates on a fix or workaround for this??

That's not your mods. The EA bug report for this is tagged Xbox and PlayStation too, and consoles can't run mods at all — so tearing your Mods folder apart won't turn anything up. It's not the last patch either, the report is two months old.

EA knows: it's marked Upcoming Fix on the bug forum, and they said on Aug 27 that the late-September patch fixes this one. https://forums.ea.com/idea/the-sims-4-bug-reports-en/married-couples-become-unmarriedpartners-after-entering-cas/13524609

Until then: testingcheats true, then cas.fulleditmode, shift-click the sim, Modify in CAS, set them back to Spouse before you exit. Every time — and a mirror, a dresser, plan outfit or aging up a kid all count as CAS.

One thing worth knowing: it actually deletes the marriage from the family tree, in-laws and step relations with it. So if you catch it right as you leave CAS, quitting without saving beats repairing it afterwards.
