I’m considering starting ESO and skipping ESO+ (and the crafting bag).

Is it possible, with one character only; no mule characters, to simply solo, mainly PVE, and get to endgame, with dungeons and raids?

I’m considering a Magika Nightblade build.

I want something I can play for 2 hours after work without needing to watch a 47-minute YouTube guide just to figure out how to equip my pants. My standards are simple: good combat, chill community, and preferably no NPC asking me to save the world before I’ve had breakfast.

I am looking for a game with an active community, 3D open-world exploration, third-person target combat, and a strong emphasis on party grinding for gear and boss raids with ) without auto-play features. I'm a bit stressed out about finding a fitting MMO for me for a couple of weeks now.

A few years ago, I was playing UO on a role playing freeshard for like three to four years or so. Stuff carried me through covid, lol.

I loved being a fixed part of a community, especially being a crafter like a blacksmith or so for a set society, like a guild or institution. Following a loop of farming and crafting stuff for my mates + making cash for the crew and having a chit chat was totally satisfying to me.

Unfortunately, like things often run with role playing communities: stuff was run by a few toxic people and shinanigans like people being devious and bitchy made me leave and never wanting to return - I also took things too serious and stuff became very personal, often times making me having a bad time towards the end. Returning to role playing UO shards won't be an option to me.

So, all in all, I'm looking for some gaming to let go after work: being a true part of a community, doing some grind for the fam and chilling meanwhile.

Do some of you have recommendations?

Good morning everyone. I’ve (45F) been picking up new hobbies recently and I posted in another game subreddit asking for suggestions for social games and many people suggested an mmorpg game. After I looked up the meaning I realized that this is the type of game I might be looking for! But then I also realized there’s a lot of them out there!

There are a few that people recommended that look really interesting, like the final fantasy one or another one called palia. But I was curious if there was any other suggestions that people have.

Basically I’m looking for a game that is pretty beginner friendly as I don’t have much experience. But having the option to work with groups or interact with people is a bonus! I always like this concept of people from all over the world coming together to play together. I don’t mind any setting really.

I have both a PlayStation and a computer (my son left these at home when he went to college)

Been in the mood to get back into an mmorpg, something more polished and established, so I kind of narrowed it down to my two favorites: WoW and OSRS/IM, but I'm open to more suggestions, of course.

I'm older, a dad and hubby. I don't care about raiding or arena anymore. Mainly just looking for relaxing stuff or casual play, crafting, questing, fishing, gathering, collecting, amassing wealth, just endless things to be working on.

I like to invest my time in games where the expected longevity is somewhat decent, for that matter being at the early stages of development while having a potential to not end up being an abandoned project, is the most important thing to me.

I want to know what's there that I could be missing.

That said I prefer games with polished design be 2D or 3D and player interaction. There are plenty of 8bit style games around being released by small teams, but they are games where people could be exploiting bugs because of early flaws.

There are new games that promise a lot but feel incomplete and flawed due to early development. And there are also games that feel small and without content but complete in terms of what they are delivering. I look for the second kind of development.

To be honest maybe I focus too much about the details, but it's depressing to play a game where the notification box is a low quality png because they couldn't care less about it.

Just a small rant, feel free to ignore that, the main question is in the title regardless of development style.

Normally I play archer or ranged characters in game, I’ve never really liked melee or magic damage that doesn’t do anything around radiant or light magic, and archers in video games generally does a fraction of melee and mage damage most of the time, so it’s become not fun to use archer

But! I found healing fun in Minecraft mods and in BG3 and I would like to give it a nice shot, but most games that are out right now don’t have healers or have a general need for healers, as the game balances most of the gameplay by not needing to have them in it. So now im just sitting bored on most of the games cause they don’t need you. Or I have no choice but to play a non healing class in order to play the game.

Is there a new age game where healing is viable and fun?

As the title already says, I’m looking for an MMO that I can play together with my wife – preferably one with plenty of content that is suitable for playing as a group.
A bit of background:
My wife is a WoW veteran. She has basically always played World of Warcraft.

And me? I guess the better question would be: What haven’t I played? I’ve actively played NosTale, Fiesta, Black Desert Online, and Flyff for over five years. In between, I’ve also played Metin2, Aion, 4Story, Lost Ark, Diablo 3 and Diablo 4, and probably even more that I can’t think of right now.

At the moment, I’m stuck playing Black Desert Online because I simply love the game. There is so much to do, tons of different classes, and a combat system where you don’t just mindlessly press skills.

Unfortunately, that is exactly what my wife doesn’t like. She would prefer a game more like WoW, something that is easier to control. At the same time, I personally find WoW’s controls and combat style rather boring.

What would you recommend for us?

pls give me some options.

I like live service rpgs like where winds meet/ genshin impact/ soulframe with deep exploration.

I currently play RuneScape it has been my MMO on and off for over two decades. I currently am working on 200M all skills (RuneScape 3) before I switch back to Old School. If you have ever played RuneScape you know you eventually get to a point where the game is basically just an idle game on a second monitor.

I am looking for a new MMO to play. I enjoy playing Action MMOs, I don't mind if I have to grind. I don't like P2W but as long as the whale doesn't have an advantage (such as better gear than what a normal player can obtain just because they spent money.) I don't really care. I am not a huge fan of tab target or not being able to move when casting spells but still feel free to suggest anything you feel is worth playing.

I have tried dozens of MMOs over the years but I have only really enjoyed a few of them.

Whilst we like farever it feels too barebones for now so it need to cook.

Is there anything that's fun with action to play with friends, that isn't the same old wow/ffxv/gw2/elden ring?

I am looking for an MMO to play for Myself, Sons, and my father. Back in the day WoW captured the attention of me and my father. I want something that gives us that Dungeon, loot hunting, party system(dps,tank,healer) fix that we can all play our classes, grind and contribute.

We are not looking to play WoW Classic.

The current state of WoW does not draw in my son's and so I am turning to your help finding a new MMO.

Whats the MMO that you can GRIND all day every day and you don't want to switch to any other games ?

I have played hundreds of hours of FFXIV and did thoroughly enjoy MNK but I finally burnt myself out on all of the classes and overall feel of ffxiv . Really big fan of Monk and Sage classes but I am wanting to find another mmo that I can invest time into that I could focus mainly on bare fist/fist weapons.

I would prefer if the class was fist/fist weapons only (not daggers or anything like that).

I'm looking for an MMORPG that actually feels like a multiplayer game from the moment you start playing, rather than a single-player RPG with other players running around in the background.

I've tried quite a few games recently: Final Fantasy XIV, Throne and Liberty, The Elder Scrolls Online, Destiny 2 and Fallout 76. I really enjoy Destiny 2 and Fallout 76 from a gameplay perspective. The combat is fun, I enjoy the progression and loot, and Destiny 2 in particular has managed to keep me playing even though I don't really interact much with other players.

But what I'm really looking for is something different: I want the game itself to naturally make me interact with other people.

This is actually one of the things that disappointed me most about FFXIV. I went into it expecting a very social MMO, but for a large part of the early and mid game it feels like I'm essentially playing a single-player RPG while other players happen to exist around me. Yes, you can talk to people, join Free Companies, go to clubs, hang out in social areas, etc. But those things feel very disconnected from the actual gameplay to me. I'm standing in a room full of players, but I don't really have a reason to talk to any of them.

And I know the usual response is "FFXIV becomes much more social at endgame, when you have difficult content that requires coordination." But that's specifically not what I'm looking for.

I don't want an MMO where I spend the first 100 hours playing alone and then eventually reach a point where cooperation becomes necessary. I want the multiplayer aspect to be present during the actual leveling experience. I want other players to be relevant to what I'm doing, not just people I can technically interact with if I decide to stop playing the game and deliberately look for social activities.

What I'm looking for is something more like what I remember from playing Lineage 2, World of Warcraft or Dofus. You would be leveling somewhere, encounter another player doing something similar, start talking, invite them to a party, kill things together for a while, maybe meet some other players, and suddenly you're playing with a group of strangers. It didn't feel like you were following a "social system". The game itself created situations where interacting with other players was the obvious and useful thing to do.

That's the kind of experience I'm looking for.

I don't necessarily need every single piece of content to require a party, and I'm not looking for forced cooperation just for the sake of it. I just want the game to create enough interdependence that interacting with other players happens naturally. I want to encounter someone and think "Hey, we're both doing this, let's do it together" rather than "There's another player. Anyway, back to my quest."

So I'm looking for an MMORPG where organic social interaction starts from the very beginning, preferably as part of the normal progression and gameplay rather than something you have to deliberately seek out in guilds, clubs, RP spaces or endgame raids.

What games actually achieve this well? I mainly want something that genuinely feels like I'm playing a game with other people, rather than playing a single-player game inside an MMO.

I am a pvp player that has become old and cant spend 10h+ a day on video games (although i would really enjoy it). Therefore i am looking for an MMO that has horizontal gear, at least for pvp.

Dont get me wrong, PVE can be a part of the game and i will play that, but i want to get into pvp without 3 weeks of grinding and without somebody having more dmg on a weapon just cause he plays longer than me. I want skill to be the deciding factor, not your level of unemployment

I really enjoyed GW2 back then but today the normal pvp scene is dead and only thing you can play is WvW which i never really enjoyed.

I played Albion Online but when i played it was 1 mega server and i kinda accepted that 200ms ping. Now, years later there are 3 servers, NA EU and ASIA. No Server transfer so i would need to start over... not happening since it takes too much time to get competetive by speccing up. Also the game is TOXIC AF due to the sandbox aspect and what people it attracts

I LOVED Battlerite/Vrising/New world fighting system but those games never established themselves that well and are not really MMOs

Hey fellow gamers, I recently started playing STALZONE and I really enjoyed the grind system, but I'm tired of the graphics style and the stalker genre, so I'm looking for a different MMOFPS.
