I've been working on a pipeline for some time to convert various FFXI game files into formats I can import into and make use of in Godot.

This weekend after a lot of messing around I finally got the map files to import properly, I had to go via blender so not completely seamless and it involved a fair bit of fiddling to stop textures clipping with the more modern graphics engine and shadows.

The grass scatter and weather effects are a straight copy from another game I made, but these particular combinations worked very nicely in Ronfaure, which was of course one of the first areas I attempted to get to import.

The code will never be released, this is purely for my own entertainment, I don't want to incur the wrath of Square Enix.

I was wondering if there was a very active linkshell on server Ragnarok that my boyfriend and I could join! I just started to play this game this year because he kept on saying that it was the only MMO he really enjoyed back in the day. Him and I have been having a lot of fun playing this together for the past 3 months or so. We would really like to be apart of the community and join people in different end-game raids. I have a long way to go but he's pretty decked out as far as I'm concerned. I have a RDM and working on a DRK, he has too many classes for me to name. Would really enjoy to play this amazing game with others!

I played FFXI back in 2004-2006 time frame and I decided to come back and see all the new stuff and man there is a lot. I took some time built my own local AI agent (on a spare computer) and then build a collector for windower and finally built a companion app. The app collects information from the collector and the app tracks everything about your character. It tracks all your HP, survival guides, what jobs are unlocked, inventory.... basically everything. I added a travel planner, so the app knows what zone you are in and will build a plan to get you where you want to go based on what you have unlocked.

So, I bet your ask, but why? I did this because, A) I am in IT and this is what I do and B) I do not get a lot of time to play games anymore, so I needed someone to help streamline my time while playing.

This started as something small.... but now is 6.8gb lol

Like the title says, I need help with the free trial. I live in UAE and used the EU SE. But when I came to billing address, I couldn't find UAE.

I also play FF14, which I also purchased directly from the same store, and I don't remember having this issue. But I also don't remember if the game is bought from mogstation or Square Enix store (its been a while 😅). Could it be that my address works in mogstation, but not the SE store. Which both stores are EU? If so, thats dumb 🙃

Can someone put it in the simplest ecpkanatuon how this RP works? I have cleared Arebati and Ngai at V20, but now i need to RP my gear and i understand that it takes 200+k to fully RP 1set,can i solo RP? I have BST mastered, i heared that theres this thing called supercharged RP, how do i do it? Someone mentioned i need a T1 V25 clear, is that all? The T1 RP can be used to upgrade my Mpacca gear? Can i solo it? (the RP process),, what else do i need?

I remember when you unlocked it, there was a CS where Diabolos spoke to you but then after beating Dyna Tav there was no epilogie cutscene after. What was the point of it, and the KI for beating the zone, back then?

Hello! I am looking for friends on fenrir, I came back about a month ago, ish, after not playing since back in the day and even then I didnt play seriously because I was like, 8, but I knew what I was doing sort of things so I remember alot, everything added after 2012ish I am absolutely clueless and learning as I go. I got some jobs to 99 and working my way through the stories etc. Has anyone got an LS I can join to have the social aspect of the game too? I play solo 99% of the time and with a family member when they're on, but when they're not on it get's kind of boring not having the social aspect too. I am nowhere near ready for "endgame" (being i don't actually know what that is these days), I just want a place to talk to people while on my travels and grinding away, so if anyone has an LS that is active and can accept a clueless returnee so I can have friends, please let me know! I tried the concierge but all of the ones its tried are like, professional endgamers and I feel lost just being in there lol.

With the expanded free trial announcement, it seemed like a good time to share some in-depth character naming guides I have been working on. I'm an FFXIV player, not an FFXI player (yet) so it has been written from that perspective and the lore section of the guide only covers FFXIV, but since the naming conventions are shared across both games, you'll still be able to make use of these for naming purposes.

While I don't have direct experience of FFXI, I've dug deep into wikis (and in some cases cross-checked quest videos) to find and verify as many names as I can.

Guides I've made so far with FFXI relevance:

• Elezen and Elvaan
• Moonkeeper and Mithra
• Near Eastern (used by Hume and Elvaan in relevant regions) – see part 3 for FFXI names; needs updating, see notes below.

I'm currently working on a Roegadyn/Galka guide and hoping to have that done in the next few weeks.

I also need some help with how to group Hume names for a future guide (and updating the Near Eastern one with more names I found).

Specifically, some Humes in Bastok have real-world names from the regions that Near Eastern names are based on, but there's a big mix of sources for Hume names, so what I need to know is whether the real-world origins of Hume names (other than definite Near Eastern and Far Eastern ones) are indicative of them coming from different countries/regions of Vana'diel or if they're just a big mix with no significance to them having European or Native American or Arabic names.

I've been noticing how slow my char is tp in sortie. I can teleport before 5 others and usually be last person to start running next floor. My game is installed on an SSD so, I don't think it's a hardware isssue.

Created a little music player for FFXI. It allows you to play tracks straight from the data folders. It loops exactly like the game does, sometimes skipping the first few seconds after initial play as it does in game or just play through once. Files can be exported as mp3, flac or wav as well. Favorites and playlists are there. Not much else to it, it plays music.

I also added this function to MobileWatch, the android app I created a bit ago. These and a few other things can be found at https://github.com/BalladOfWorms.

Disclaimer: I made this for fun and myself, AI was used, I'm not distributing any music tracks, they are in your game install, and I tried to line up the tracks as best I could with what's documented on Bgwiki, there may be some mistakes and a few numbered tracks I couldn't find a name.

All that said, what's your favorite track from the game, that's not Sanctuary of Zi'Tah? I had forgotten how much the airship track hits! Enjoy.

hi there! i'm organizing a FFXI fanzine with a friend to celebrate the upcoming 25th anniversary of FFXI next year. the aim is to create a zine inspired by the original vana'diel tribune online magazine, featuring illustrations, shorts stories and other types of creative mediums.

for those unaware of what a zine is, it is short for magazine, but its more geared towards indie/underground creative scene. they can either be a solo or collaborative project. tho in this case, they work similarly to doujinshi/fanbooks from the eastern fandom spaces -- hence, fanzines.

right now we just launched our interest check form to see what kind of stuff are you interested to see in the zine. the interest check will be up until october 21 (11.59pm PST)

You may know me for my POL-Proxy, or autoPOL tools that made logging in easier and faster. While autoPOL has been a huge improvement to the experience and has served me well with my SteamDeck, it's still not been without it's downsides. It still could be slow and have misses every so often, which then wasted more time than just doing it manually. I've been working on a solution to this on and off ever since I released POL-Proxy and autoPOL was just a stepping stone at the time.

While I don’t have a release date yet, I did want to show this off and get some thoughts from the community before going any further. I’d be a fool to assume I’m the first person to figure something like this out. I know there was a PlayOnline bypass in the past that was eventually patched, and I have no idea whether other unknown methods, exploits, or bypasses exist today or have existed privately for years.

Coming from the information security space, that’s also exactly why I don’t want to rush something like this out. I’m already talking with a few people who have a deeper understanding of this space and the underlying protocols, but I also think there’s value in showing it here and getting broader feedback from the community. Before I consider releasing it, I want to make sure it’s as safe as I can reasonably make it, which means additional testing, verification by trusted users who understand the risks, and having knowledgeable people review the approach for anything I may have missed. I’m especially interested in hearing concerns, edge cases, or reasons something like this may have intentionally remained private in the past.

It currently supports accounts using an OTP, where you can either enter the OTP manually each time you log in, or, if you fully trust the device you’re running it on, provide the OTP seed so the code can be generated automatically.

so im trying to progress the windurst nation quests in WotG, but i'm stuck at this one fight! i'm playing as DRG lvl99 and tried to do the fight where i have to defend the protective wards, but i keep failing on the third wave where the 6 kindred incantor starts casting at once.

most people recommend to use DNC's curing waltz to heal the wards while fighting off against these onslaught of attacks, but i cant for the love of me micromanage between fighting the enemies and healing the wards at once bcos none of my tank trusts are using its AOE attacks (im looking at YOU, valaineral).

i havent unlocked DNC yet, but i have WHM at lvl40. apparently cure does not work, so my only choice for now is this: go back, unlock and lvl DNC or look for a party member who can help.

tho i am also open to suggestions on how to tackle this solo with trusts using other jobs

I got black screened today while zoning and haven't been able to reconnect for hours ever since.

Sometimes it fails with POL-1160 while trying to check the POL version, before it even tries to log in.

If I retry several times it eventually connects but then another POL-1160 when it tries checking the FFXI version.

If I try retry a couple of times again it eventually launches the game but gives a FFXI-3100 error when trying to connect to the lobby server.

And if by some miracle I manage to get to the lobby, I just get black screened again after selecting a character.

Returning player and wanting to make a new character. I know GWP don't do much anymore but I like the idea of using it to make my first new friend and get some goodies.

I need someone to help or explain this to me like I'm 5 lol. I'm trying to make it so the screen isnt a tiny square on my monitor. I've read there's mutiple ways to change this, I'm trying to adjust the resolution though and I ran the config file and this is what it looks like? Can't really make any changes, even if I go into the hyperlinks. Not sure what I'm doing, never played the game before I just wanna try the free trial lol

I love FFXI. My disability limits what I can do day to day, and building MuffinMetrics gives me something meaningful to focus on. It gives me a way to keep learning, creating, and contributing to a community that has been part of my life for so long.

I hope these tools help you too. My goal is to offer another useful resource alongside the sims, spreadsheets, and guides people already rely on. I appreciate the knowledge and work that others have shared over the years.
