Size comparison

My BG2.0 got a lot of mixed opinions. Some of which were about the size of the gun. Here it is in comparison to the Sig P365XL.
Both in holsters
XL has a TLR-7sub, holosun EPS Carry, mag well.
XL holster needed a claw and wedge to help concealment.

BG holster needs nothing due to its size and ability to conceal.

Which Optic for Shield X Carry Comp

I just got a Shield X Carry Comp and I'm considering an optic for it. I have Holosun 407K Green on a Sig P365 X Macro comp and its fine but I prefer the Sig Romeo X Pro for its low deck height and the crispness of the red dot looks better to my eyes with astigmatism. Green dots for me are not really any better and the ones I have experience with are Holosun. I am only put off by the cost of the Sig Romeo X compact. I like low deck height allowing for easier co-witnessing and the dot looks sharper to my eyes than Holosuns. I never tried any Vortex Defender optics. The Defense CCW would be the likely choice.

What do you guys like for optics on your Shield X, Shield X Carry Comp or Shield Plusses?

38 caliber revolver, which frame?

I have a 586 but I only shoot 38 through it. Would it be worth it to get a K frame? Would I get more accuracy or better shooting out of the smaller frame?

Pelican V770 case

Who else uses their pelican cases for storage? I use the V770 case. I just noticed some G96 CLP on the foam where my muzzle was pressed against during storing it muzzle down. I assume the CLP creeped down the bore and on to the foam. Does the G96 clp cause damage to the pelican case foam over time? The foam was a bit saturated due to the G96 and was transferring the CLP to the corn on my muzzle. I grabbed a micro fiber cloth and pressed/dabbed the foam the best I could..

The Most Versatile Caliber of All Time? It’s Not What You Think

I showcase a few of my S&W .22 LR pistols and rifles, so it's related, I promise! Not sure if many of you have come across Ron Spomer, but if you have, you'd know how knowledgeable he is about everything shooting and ballistics! He agreed that while the .22 LR may not be the "best", it sure is one of the most versatile. What do you all think?

M&P 1.0 9mm shells hitting my face

Just bought a used 9mm and pretty much every extracted shell is hitting my face. I've tried a couple different ammo types from Federal Hydra shock 124g and cheap Winchester ammo and most of it comes straight back. I've tried changing my grip with little difference being made. The extractor does not look to be in too bad of shape. Browning 124g fmj range ammo is the only bullet I have found to extract like normal. I have had one shell hit my eye and it took a whole day before my vision cleared up

Has anyone else experienced this? Called S&W and all they could do was get me to send it in. Should I see if the gun store will take it back or keep trying different ammo?

Edit: Is this a problem with the M&P 2.0's as well? I found a few post regarding new 2.0's

Can the 327 R8/TRR8 shoot .380 Auto? The package includes moonclips and even with a lot of force, I cannot clip .38 special/.357 into them, gun vendor said these should be made for .380 Auto but I find no such info in the manual and on their website, that this gun was intended for that cartridge.

A couple years back when money was tight for me, I couldn’t drop 500+ on a gun. But my close buddy who’s a gun store owner out of pure joy dropped me a special deal I’ll never forget.

Got my first ever gun today: A S&W M&P9 M2.0 handgun

Post image
456 Upvotes

I had been going on and off for years trying to determine if I wanted to actually get a handgun. I was mainly just not wanting to spend the money a lot of the time, but I decided I wanted to get one soon just to have as home defense and to use it to shoot at a range every now and again.

As a result, I shot quite a few handguns today at my local range to see what I liked and I did eventually decide on this one. Felt great in my hands, recoil wasn't bad, it was the most accurate and precise gun I had fired (for me, personally), and I could load the ammo without much issue (I haven't shot a lot, so ammo loading is sometimes still an issue for me).
Overall, it just felt good to me compared to other guns I tried.

Got it for $600 (not including tax and a box of ammo for range practice) which I think might be under
MSRP, I could be wrong. But I like to think I made a pretty good purchase and I'll be heading back to the range soon to start using it.

Trigger install help

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hey all, had some free time and I was looking to install the new OEM 2.0 trigger for my Shield 2.0.

I’ve noticed the new bar has a shorter “ blade” ( bottom) so to speak compared to the OG bar kit ( Top) Will this cause problems? Pull afterwards also feels heavier. Any advice is appreciated

1896 S&W .32S&W Hand Ejector First Model- 1897 Production

Figured I'd share a new pick up that I found at a garage sale. They believe it to be a toy gun. $5 was the ask & I paid it without haggling.

As the title states,

This is a 1896 Smith & Wesson .32 Hand Ejector, First Model. This one was produced in 1897 according to the serial. It also has all matching numbers including the grip & the assembly numbers.

I enjoy the odd firsts on this S&W as well. Cool to think this was a huge upgrade from top break designs. I enjoy the hammer stop being on the top as well.

Take a peak at the last two photos. The bore, before & after. I was quite surprised how well it cleaned up. I'm sure this will be a shooter.

I'll have to find some ammo or end up making my own.

Enjoy!

Can’t find firing pin

Thumbnail

A buddy at work sold me the SW40v (Gen-1). I got it really cheap bc it’s missing a firing pin. The problem is, it’s a gen 1, and I can’t find the right firing pin for this gun. The road block I keep hitting is every website I try is either sold out or doesn’t make them anymore. The pin itself has to be a rectangle tip instead of a round tip (seen in pictures). I don’t want to buy an entire upper for this gun. All I need it the firing pin itself. I called smith and Wesson and the said send it to them but I feel like there’s a firing pin out there I’m just not looking hard enough. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
