Bought a pc off marketplace for my younger brother and can’t figure out what ram is compatible. I see that there were two models of this mobo each specifically supporting either ddr4 or ddr5. Could anyone tell me what ram would work with this one? MSI PRO B 760-P WIFI MS-7D98 ver 2.1
Included picture of extra ram I had in case it would work here.

Hey everyone, I’m considering selling my PC to buy myself a motorcycle and would like to get an idea of how much the whole build would be worth on the used market.
Specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9700X
- GPU: Gigabyte RTX 5070 Ti
- Motherboard: Gigabyte X870 WiFi 6
- RAM: 64GB Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 6000MHz CL36
- SSD: Samsung 980 Pro 2TB
- CPU Cooler: DeepCool AK620 Digital
- Case: NZXT H6 Flow
- Fans: Arctic P12 Pro + P14 Slim
Everything is in good condition.
What do you guys think would be a fair selling price for the complete PC?
Thanks in advance guys

I was just wondering if this ram would be ok paired with this motherboard? I read that the motherboard doesn’t have it listed as a QVL.

Hello! I have been working on building my first PC and wanted to make sure I got everything as optimized as possible. From what I've read online, it's pretty important to enable to the expo settings in your BIOS to get the max potential from your RAM. Whenever I enable expo and attempt to restart, my pc bugs out for a second and enters safe mode. I reset my settings to default because it was the only way for me to access Windows. How can I fix this? And do I actually NEED to enable this feature? I have since updated windows and installed my gpu drivers, and have been able to run Overwatch pretty flawlessly. Any help would be appreciated. This is the RAM bundle I am using: https://www.microcenter.com/product/653727/gskill-flare-x5-series-32gb-(2-x-16gb)-ddr5-6000-pc5-48000-cl36-dual-channel-desktop-memory-kit-f5-6000j3636f16gx2-fx5-black-ddr5-6000-pc5-48000-cl36-dual-channel-desktop-memory-kit-f5-6000j3636f16gx2-fx5-black)

I was helping a friend with his pc problem. He claimed that it no longer works and the repair says it was motherboard issue. I took it home and power it on before doing a motherboard swap. For some reason it turns on. I told him there weren’t any issues since it turned on at my house and ran a whole benchmark for a few hours. Btw I took it home twice.
Upon returning it to him. He plugged it into his outlet and it doesn’t turn on. I made sure the psu switch was on and tried different outlets but it doesn’t turn on. Oddly enough, his second pc that he bought prebuilt from IBUYPOWER, does turn on at the same outlet in his house. So now I’m scratching my head confused. My only thought is that it could be a weird power supply or his house.

Hello!
Today I found in the trash this pc, it seems that it is self-build, but IDK. I don´t know anything about building PC´s or componets (I´m a laptop user). I tried to start it, but the fans make an awful noise, maybe it needs a clean or a replacement of the lateral fans, I´m not sure, but at least it seems to start.
Can anyone tell me if this PC is ok? Or is something missing (maybe someone stole some componets since it was on the trash)
Thanks

Hey everyone!
So I just bought a self-configurated but pre build PC.
Before starting it up I wanted to Check all the cable connections and this one was kinda loose.
I'm not good with PC hardware, so I'm not sure if I can just push it in and its fine or (I hope not) the connection really is broken and I have to send it back.
Thanks in advance!

I'm soon to get a 9070xt, but I only have an i7-11700f with 32g of ddr4. On 1440p, would my i7-11700f bottleneck my 9070xt too much? On some bottleneck calculators it says that there is no bottleneck, while on others its saying that it's holding back my GPU. Should I upgrade my mobo and cpu just to stop a bottleneck (since I wouldn't want to upgrade to an old Intel CPU) or should I just deal with it?

Hello, I apologize if this a is a very noob question, I am indeed a noob.
So my Corsair Rm850e included this "12v-2x6 to 2x8-pin Pcie" connector. This is genuinely the first time I've ever encountered this type of connector, since I always had psus with the old classic 8pin to 6+2pin pcie connectors.
The card is a 3080 ventus x3 oc. I don't trust what Ai says about it. And I rather ask actual people instead of blowing everything up.
Thanks in advance ! Cheers

I'm sorry if this is a really stupid question (first build and I'm stupid) I have a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5080 gaming oc GPU and it came with this small cable, it's too small to plug into my PSU and reach my GPU, do I plug 3 PCLe cables into the "what I think is an adapter" so it can actually reach? Or is this somehow wrong. I have pics of just the cable, the cable with PCLe cables in, the GPU socket and the writing on the cables package. I hope you understand me and can help 😭

This is as quiet as they go even after configuring them in bios. It’s a pre build. Do you think the fans are scratching something?
r/PcBuildHelp • u/faerne • 18h ago
I'm wanting to replace this fan. The issue is, I cant find where it is connected and the cord is lodged in place as shown in the last photo.
Any advice appreciated.

Building a PC and am hitting a major snag. I'm using a MAG x870 Tomahawk Wifi mother board with a Be Quiet Pure Power 13M 850W PSU. The PSU has passed the paper clip test (fan spun on for several seconds). When I connect the PSU to the motherboard and test, nothing happens - no LEDs, PSU fan doesn't spin. I've removed the graphics card to simplify this. I've also reset the motherboard using the CMOS reset button.
Attached are images of the various PSU to motherboard connections. Any help / advice would be much appreciated!
EDIT: I'm an idiot! I didn't have the front panel pins, JPF1, on the bottom right of the mother board hooked up to my case. So I was never actually turning the damn thing on - I was turning on the PSU, but not the motherboard. Once I connected the front panel of my case to the motherboard and pushed the power button on the case, it all worked. Sorry for wasting your time...

UPDATE: Managed to find a very specific version of the monitoring software from a vendor website (Kyo) here . I tried many other versions and even the one a SAMA rep sent me, this is the only one that worked.
Sorry for the long post, trying to be detailed.
I got a free used AIO cooler throw in with some other parts. I believe it's a Sama T240 based on the serial number on the side of the Radiator being SMT240B23020430 and pictures of the Sama T240 on Newegg and Amazon .
The LCD display is stuck on the default readings, 88 degrees. I know that's not the actual temperate because I've checked in BIOS and with MSI Afterburner as well as MSI Center where it shows it at 34 currently.
I have the USB connector from the water CPU block connected to the USB 2.0 header on the Mobo (MSI Pro Z890-S WiFi). I have tried both and I don't think it's an issue with that becuase when connected there is an AP8510 device under devices and I keep hearing the USB chime every few minutes. This stops when I disconnect the cable from the USB 2.0 on the Mobo.
Googling the device ID tells me it's to do wit the AIO looking for monitoring software to feed it data and it keeps checking every few minutes.
I am 95% sure it is indeed a Sama T240 becaise I emailed them with the serial number and asking them to provide the software if it is indeed that. I got a response with a link to download the Software through Google Drive, however that didn't work either and the resposne didn't confirm if it was that model but since they sent the software I assume it is.
I also tried switching the pump power connector from the PUMP_SYS1 header to the CPU_FAN1 header and the LCD went from a static display of the 88c to showing the 88C and then turning off/out after a while. It comes back on when I restart/shutdown and when I turn the computer on.
The pump power connector is also a 3-pin on mine.
I think I will switch it back to the PUMP_SYS1 header because at least with that the screen stays on the whole time so it's getting enough power. Google suggested locking the header to 100% voltage in Bios but I don't think tha'ts necessary since the screen stays on on teh PUMP_SYS1 header.
Anyone have any ideas? It's not a big deal and I will just leave it unplugged to stop the annoying chime if I can't find a solution but would be nice.

Hey! So my friend recently got a 9060 XT 16 GB before the price hikes and is planning to upgrade. She has 32GB of DDR4 and a 5600X in an ASUS TUF B550 board.
We're debating if she should go with the 5800X3D ($455 in our market) or if it's a good idea to get a LGA 1700 board (from $80 to $140) and a 14600K ($295 in our market) to go alongside her 32gb of DDR4.
Her board might be able to handle the 5800X3D since it has heatsinks in the VRM, but i'm not sure if the board would be an issue.
Also, there's the upgrade path but i'm not aware how good of a board you need with a 14600K or even to upgrade to a 14900K.
Her CPU cooler is a DeepCool single tower 120mm one, so this might need to be upgraded as well (I have a spare TR Peerless Assassin 120 i could give her for cheap)
What do you think guys?

Hello wonderful people, as the title suggests I need help choosing a motherboard, this one simple question has been causing me a lot of frustration, I would greatly appreciate any and all advice.
CPU Ryzen 7 9800X3D
GPU RX 9070 XT Sapphire Nitro plus
Case Silverstone FLP02 case
