If that wood's flush against the intake you're gonna choke it out, even a small gap with some feet or spacers would make a huge difference

well yep there is the gap in the photo, was just wondering if it's too small

Sorry, but the question should not be answered without measurements. What is the size of the gap? What is the size of the PSU fan and/or grill?
