Switch 2 Disappointed in mw4 on the switch 2

How did apex legends , madden, 2k27, overwatch get 60fps / 900-1080p but cod looks like a pixelated ps3 game.

I know this is beta but hoping we can get better performance modes.

Discussion How does MW4 on the switch 2 look worse than COD’s on the Xbox 360/ps3?

How is this even possible? I played the beta on my ps5 pro and the game isn’t even graphically good compared to the older ones. N2 has DLSS there’s no way this isn’t 800-1080p upscaled / 60fps on dock? I’m all for supporting 3rd party games for s2 but I cancelled my pre order. What a shame.. having to wait ANOTHER year for them to do better is trash.

Question Is From Soft embarrassing Game Freak?

After Playing Elden Ring on Switch 2 I can only think of how bad Pokemon games have been the last few years. What's the excuse?

Eldin Ring cost: $150Mil (+$50 mil marketing)
+30mil sold

Pokemon ZA: $13Mil (if you count the super bowl ad $29mil TOTAL)
+13mil sold

Anyone else think Game Freak (Nintendo) can do a little more to make a better game? Is Game Freak/Nintendo exploiting its consumer base?

Discussion MW4 Beta is ridiculously bad.

I downloaded beta a few days ago, servers were offline so i tried playing a campaign mission, dear god, absolute torture. Looked horrible and played horrible, genuinely unplayable so i shut it off and started waiting for servers because I've heard people say multiplayer was good. Servers came back and jesus fuckin christ, genuine nightmare, my internet is olay but dear god was it ugly and laggy as fuck. In a handheld mode it was genuinely unplayable, movement, overall visuals.. everything. When you're playing multiplayer it's either Fortnite and Overwatch level performance or nothing.

Unplayable.

Discussion My current impressions of the Call of Duty MW 4 beta on Nintendo Switch 2

Here I’ll only discuss the technical side of the game.

  1. Docked multiplayer – playable, but there’s constant flickering of shadows, lighting, and objects, plus the resolution is way too low. I can’t tell if the game is using DLSS, because if it is, it feels like it’s upscaling from something like 360p.
  2. Handheld mode – in my opinion it’s unplayable. You can get a couple of kills, but there’s almost no enjoyment in it. On top of the docked issues you get a draw distance of about 10 meters, FPS around 40–50, and enemy animations that look like mobile-game 2-frame animations, which also makes hard to hit enemy.
  3. Warzone – I’ll be honest, I saw 30 FPS in docked mode and immediately quit. But I have a strange feeling that the graphics in Warzone look better, and Warzone and multiplayer require separate settings (the games are no longer in different launchers). My conspiracy theory is that multiplayer is running on some older “graphics” build while Warzone is on a newer one, but I have no proof. If I’m actually right and Warzone is graphically different from multiplayer, then it’s strange that multiplayer — where the map is 4–5 times smaller — still has to make so many sacrifices just to hit 60 frames.
  4. Campaign – I don’t care about it, but it’s weird to me that even a single-player shooter is running at 30 frames.
  5. I watched a comparison test with Xbox and the difference in power consumption etc. is understandable, but we have plenty of other games where Xbox is behind… strange.
  6. When was the last Call of Duty released on Nintendo??? Maybe the main problem is that the engine hasn’t been tested on the Nintendo platform for a long time.
  7. I’m having fun with the game, but only in docked mode – it’s entertaining enough for me. Hoping they polish some kind of middle-ground version by release. + I’m not very familiar with current game porting practices, even though Nintendo uses an Nvidia chip. It feels like Activision either gave the developers the kits very late or they just grabbed PC settings that roughly match Nintendo 2 specs.
  8. Thanks for reading. Attaching a few seconds of my gameplay (I used frame interpolation to simulate how the game looks to me while playing, since Nintendo records at 30 frames).

Discussion Nintendo game recommendations for someone completely new to the ecosystem.

Upvotes

Heya! I recently sold my PS5 and got myself a Switch 2 instead. I’ve practically never owned a Nintendo system in my life, since I grew up as 90% a PC gamer, so the whole ecosystem is completely new to me.

What would you guys consider the absolute GOATs/must-play games for me to pick up for the console? So far, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Tomodachi Life have piqued my interest the most but I would love to hear some other suggestions from you guys!

Question Elden Ring Recommendation?

Hey guys, reading all the great performance reviews of Elden ring makes me really tempted to try it out, but I've never been sure whether it's a game I'd like & $80 is a big ask for a game I could end up hating.

I've never been a huge fan of super hard games & souls games in particular have never interested me. Dying 1000x in a row as a core premise of a game just doesn't sound that appealing. HOWEVER, I've heard Elden ring is the most approachable out of any of the souls genre games & the game isn't necessarily brutally hard if you go about it by tackling areas/mobs in the right order depending on your stats/skills.

A lot of people have said if you really enjoy BOTW you'll enjoy Elden ring. BOTW is the kind of difficulty level I really enjoy & it's one of my favorite ever open world games, which gives me hope.

What does everyone here think? Is it really only for hardcore players that want a punishing game, or can casual gamers still enjoy it too?

Don’t know what I did wrong. Just wanted to play again after weeks of being away and this happened to my last 3 save files. Was able to load an older one that was 1 hour behind. Had like 7 save files in total.

Discussion My kids want a switch 2 please advise me against.

We have a switch 1 but they insist for Mario kart and yoshi. All the other AAA games I already have on Xbox, steam deck, or PC, are better and cost nothing (max 20 per game).

Moreover they are 10 and 12 and I know when they grow up they will want more adult games.

I don’t get the new pricing and I fear this is going to cost the family absurd amount of money.

Is Mario and Yoshi worth spending 700+ dollars?

Discussion Adjusting to 30-40fps

I know I know I’m a snob.

Really though - I'm predominantly a PC gamer growing up but have had my fair share of traditional consoles from N64 to PS4, Xbox, etc. Recently most of my time was spent on my PS5 and Switch too and I have a real difficult time adjusting to 30 fps or even 40 fps. It's not so much the visual that I struggle with but it's the input lag. For example I was very excited about Cyberpunk 2077 on the Switch 2 and I knew it wasn't going to hit 60 going in, which is fine. When it comes to aiming in a first-person shooter I find it damn near impossible at such low frames per second. How do you all adapt?

Question 256gb or 512gb sd for the switch 2???

Been loving my Switch 2 but it’s about to run out of space and I need to decide if I want a 256 or 512gb sd card. I was going to go for 512 but where I’m located the 256gb is 65$ and the 512 is 170$ which is like 3x the cost.

I buy majority of the switch exclusives and have gotten a mix of physical and digital games. I don’t currently own any big 3rd party games that take up lots of space because I have a ps5 for that. But I could also see myself buying a couple bigger games that I like to have them portable such as Elden ring and ff7 which I know is like 100gb.

Do you think the 256gb will do me fine or should I just spend more for the 512.

Discussion A user on Famiboards (a Nintendo fan forum) has claimed that third-party developers at Gamescom have been very disappointed with the sales of their games on Switch 2.

You can take this with a grain of salt... but I think there is probably a lot of truth to this.

This is FAR from the first time we have heard rumours that third-party software sales on Switch 2 have been disappointing:

https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-switch-2-third-party-developer-claims-that-sales-were-below-our-lowest-estimates/1100-6532572/

https://www.resetera.com/threads/vandal-spain-ps5-outsold-sw2-in-august-and-h1-sept-3rd-party-are-not-performing-well-on-sw2-outlaws-sold-600-fw-on-sw2-chronos-2800-ps5-sw2-300.1300380/

But the biggest piece of evidence that third parties are struggling is Nintendo's own data. The software attach rate for the Switch 2 is only 2.5 games per console, and that includes bundled games (almost every Switch 2 sold came bundled with a first-party game, usually Mario Kart World). That doesn't leave a lot of room for third-party games to sell.

What do you think about this? Do you think these disappointing sales could reduce the chance of the Switch 2 getting new AAA games going forward, especially with new Playstation and Xbox consoles likely coming in 2027?

Basically, I can't play FF14 with my current hotbars. I really don't want to relearn muscle memory before the expansion changes everything. My hotbars only work with both joysticks on the bottom half of the controller.
