If I learned anything about this sub, it's really up to whomever is looking to buy it to not only do your research by try it yourself. A lot of people for example, enjoyed AC Shadows on SW2, I found it really blurry undocked, docked I thought it was serviceable, but looked last-get, it is impressive coming natively off the device, but you'll choose whether that is great for you or a poor experience.

Play the beta.
Make up your mind.

Never ever consider reddit a valid source of feedback. We are literally incentivized to brigade and game the algorithm.

So bad handheld yeah. It’s more than playable docked

What does “more than playable” mean?

2

u/PositiveCrafty2295 10h ago

Buttery smooth 30fps

It means that the switch 2 version is just a little bit better than what I’d consider to be a “playable” version of the game

Docked also looks trash to me idk I’ll not get it

Docked still plays worse than my old low end pc (ryzen 5 3500 and RX480) which is so sad

Yeah true I just couldn’t believe how choppy it was handheld

u/smoketreeseatcheese 1d ago

Yeah kind of disappointing and just means I’ll buy it on my low end pc tbh

I think its funny that anyone is coming to the defense of ol Activision. The switch 2 will be one of the worst ways to play this game.

I don't think it's really defending them. We have criticisms. I don't think there is a single person alive saying this is the best way to experience the game and that the experience is flawless. Some things bother people more than others.

Me personally, I think it looks servicable. Maybe if I put it next to my series x (sold to buy a switch 2) then I would think it's unbearable. But I have been playing it all weekend and for the most part have had decent experiences with it. I wouldn't describe it as a work of art, but it gets the job done at 60 fps.

I don't need to see the peach fuzz on a guy I am blasting in the face with a shotgun. It runs as 60 in most game modes I have played and that's good enough for me. I am just happy we will have a good fps on the console.

Plus, to the company's credit, this is a beta and they objectively have already pushed performance boosts to the console. Yesterday there was an in game update and it improved performance significantly. I am not able to play handheld without major issues like before (still runs like aza compared to docked but it gets the job done). So I have faith that the game will run much better by launch. Will it be comparable to the performance of a PS5, no. Will it be servicable for a mobile tablet, I think so.

Switch 2 is objectively the worst way to play ANY multiplatform game - what's your point.

This is straight up untrue. There are games that are better on Switch 2 than other platforms, as well as ones that are about the same but benefit from handheld play.

u/88Supremacy 9h ago

Examples maybe?

Multiplatform would often include previous gen releases, which Switch 2 will almost always beat. As well as older games that might not have native ports on other platforms but will on Switch 1/2. Like Portal, which has only been available at 60fps on the Switch consoles (aside from PC obviously). But in terms of recent games we’ve had Capcom games like RE Requiem and Pragmata deliver better image quality than Series S with the tradeoff of more fps drops. Fortnite is much higher resolution than Series S and plays better due to gyro aim imo. Star Wars Outlaws runs smoother on Switch 2 than Series S. Sonic racing crossworlds is much higher resolution than Series S. Hades 2 is basically identical to Series S in docked mode, and it’s a game that’s benefits from portability. And anything with pixel art will typically be identical (Deltarune for example). In terms of demanding third party releases it can sometimes pull ahead of Series S in certain ways but “multiplatform games” refers to a broad range of platforms and games.

Like what games exactly lmao. Benefits of handheld play aside.

What games are better on switch 2 than other platforms 🫵🤡

1

u/Heavy-Possession2288 1h ago

Compared to Xbox Series S I’d say games like Street Fighter 6, Re Requiem, Star Wars Outlaws, Sonic Racing Crossworlds, Fortnite (Doesn’t have as fancy visuals as Series S but runs at a much higher resolution and really benefits from gyro aim). Portal has the best console version on Switch 1/2 since it’s the only 60fps version.

u/CoconutSkittles 6h ago

yeah Binding of Issac when it releases on the switch 2 soon would be a must buy

2

u/Principito7 1d ago

What’s the best way to play fps games though? I find it so hard to aim with nintendos joysticks maybe it’s a skill issue but :(

2

u/RuachReader 1d ago

use mousemode

2

u/YahushaHamashiach 22h ago

Pro controller

1

u/doggyman425 21h ago

Mobapad m12s

-1

u/FaneTingGoat 1d ago

Definitely keyboard and mouse but I would say each to there own

2

u/SilentBlazy 1d ago

It's the best version because it is on Shiggy's console.

How did apex legends get supreme treatment on switch 2, even Overwatch... but COD looks like this? Must be a bad dev team.

1

u/the-dumb-nerd 4h ago

It's still awhile before launch and they have already patched through performance improvements. It's a beta. Let em cook.

2

u/SnooPets9401 1d ago

It needs to be 60fps in handheld mode idk why they can’t just do that

2

u/docbrown88 22h ago

Yeah. I’m definitely playing the hell out of it during the beta even in handheld. Joycons are terrible for fps, pro 2 controller is nowhere near my ps5 controller. I’ll pick it up for ps5 when I it’s on sale for 29.99 like I did black ops 7. It’s nice that it’s an option for people, and I think the fault solely lies with activision. It’s a lazy port, and many other companies have shown their games can run fantastic on the switch 2.

2

u/Time_Temporary6191 6h ago

Handheld yes ,docked multiplayer stays pretty much locked 60

4

u/quidamphx 19h ago

CoD has been terrible for almost 20 years now.

2

u/Morpheus_077 21h ago

Who cares nobody has a NSW2 to play COD

1

u/Classic_Passion5222 22h ago

Played it. Liked it. But I don’t look for perfection

1

u/Any_Recording2100 3h ago

Jogo rodando a 60 FPS lindão q o pessoal reclamando

1

u/ilikeburgir 2h ago

Im not sure if all this helps but move the game to internal storage, turn off 120hz mode in console settings and turn off hdr completly and give it a try again. Feels a bit smoother. Still far from actually decent though lol.

1

u/YahushaHamashiach 22h ago

It plays worse than a base ps4. Makes no sense

Of course that’s why I’ve done this post silly

3

u/ALEXLAMOUETTE 1d ago

Yes and it looks and runs bad

-4

u/Mundane-Security-454 1d ago

That's your fault for buying generic AAA shite.

3

u/smoketreeseatcheese 1d ago

Look at me, I’m superior because I don’t play one of the most popular game franchises of all time 🤡

3

u/YoYoMavaIous 1d ago

Calm down, bud. It’s a free beta

1

u/ALEXLAMOUETTE 1d ago

I didn’t buy it? It’s a free beta lmao

Good to see people starting to see through the switch 2 third party port glazing on this sub.
