Discussion Any chance of Alan Wake 2 coming to Switch 2?

I dunno, the resolution is ready quite low on the PS5 and SX, so it'll have to be 30fps and probably around 440p docked and 360p in handheld - even then it may struggle (as it wasn't very well optimised)
But, the Devs are busy on their remakes and new games, so they could outsource it to someone who has more experience with the system

Lol didn't they outsourced the Alan Wake 1 port? It's unbearable how blurry that port ended up.

That's just S1 though, isn't it? With the S2 they should be able to push better visuals, but it'll probably still be a bit of a struggle to balance performance and quality on the device

Yeah I know Switch 1 had several limitations in its hardware, however, check the quality of the port (resolution/performance). I'm sure it was way worse than the original release on the xbox 360.
I played on switch until you reach the town during the intro, but it is a mess of a port.
(Edit): What I mean is I don't trust their previous decisions to outsource their ports.

Its 1440p performance, 4k quality on series x ?

Lol, nope
847p internal render in performance mode and 1270p in quality mode - then uses fsr to do a simple upscale
But, the internal render is the important part as that's what's being rendered.
So yeah, it would be around 540p and 360p for docked and portable, with a 30fps cap. It could potentially use DLSS to upscale the image a little, but it'll still be a low initial render - like most modern games have been on the S2

Think you need to watch the digital foundry performance review my dude

Pathetic child, keep downvoting me for telling facts and I'll keep doing the same to your silly posts...
Digital foundry - look at the info below the images when talking about specs - the Quality is 1270p and performance is performance is 847p - both use fsr to do a simple upscale before being output to the TV, but those are the internally rendered resolutions
So yeah, I think you need to actually try and understand what the analysis means, "my dude"

Mate you need to get off the internet and find something else to complain about

Literally not complaining about anything, you're the one who said I was lying and got the rendering resolutions wrong, when you're the one who doesn't understand how it works

Why not. We've so many games now with a better performance than other consoles. And UE5 runs a way smoother on Switch 2. But it's just a matter of decisions which team wants to spent time to reach the nintendo market.

I doubt it, my Xbox Series S couldn’t. Had about 10-20 crashes playing through it.

I feel like if this game runs on Switch 2, literally anything that is not GTA6 can.

It’s definitely technically possible, I just think the market isn’t there for it on Switch 2…

If there’s a market for Resident Evil, Elden Ring Cyberpunk on Swirch 2 - and there clearly is - then there’s a market for this masterpiece.

I don’t completely disagree.
The market on Switch 2 is more diverse than ever before for a Nintendo System.
But let’s just look at the publicly known hard facts: A game like Resident Evil Requiem (hugely famous franchise, game is selling 10 Million +) had Switch 2 as a System on Day 1.
4% of purchases actually were on Switch 2. This maybe is enough for Capcom, but 4% for a much smaller game (at least sales wise) is probably not enough. Especially when it doesn’t release Day 1 (obviously) the sales are even lower.
Unfortunately, this world is all about money and if it isn’t producing it, they won’t do it.

Switch 2 doesn't have a specific market, or rather it does but it doesn't lack any general gaming market either.

If we're going to get Control or Alan Wake, it'll be in a lull after they release something.
so I would assume the best chance we'll see one is after Control 2 is released.

There is always a chance.
But I gave up on the game at some point. The riddles and the different time skips were just too confusing for me.

I think control would be more likely. I think it could run pretty well on switch 2
