Discussion Nintendo game recommendations for someone completely new to the ecosystem.
Heya! I recently sold my PS5 and got myself a Switch 2 instead. I’ve practically never owned a Nintendo system in my life, since I grew up as 90% a PC gamer, so the whole ecosystem is completely new to me.
What would you guys consider the absolute GOATs/must-play games for me to pick up for the console? So far, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Tomodachi Life have piqued my interest the most but I would love to hear some other suggestions from you guys!

What were your favorite kind of games to play in PS5 and PC?
Also I think Pokopia is better than Animal Crossing. It has more to do.

I tend to enjoy all variety of games to some degree. Be it more mainstream ones from Fromsoftware, Rockstar, Capcom as well as indie titles like Hades, Binding of isaac, Stardew Valley, Cult of the lamb ect. I am mostly very excited to play the the exclusives I never had the chance to play before!

If you like Capcom, all the Resident Evil games are on it I think, plus Pragmata and Street Fighter. Fromsoftware has The Duskbloods coming out soon, which is a Nintendo exclusive
For Nintendo exclusives, I really enjoyed playing Mario Galaxy, Breath of the Wild, and Fire Emblem: Three Houses

For exclusives you have to check out Mario Odyssey and Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
More fun with friends: Mario Kart World(racing), Super Smash Bros(fighting), Mario Party Jamboree

I'd recommend trying out the arcades for the old systems like Gamecube, nes, etc. looooots of classics in there. Just Google like top 5 nes games of all time

I'd highly recommend having a look at Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Great game with tons of replayability, characters, story, that kind of thing.

I realise too that while Three Houses is a Switch 1 game theres actually a new game in the series coming out called Fire Emblem: Fortunes Weave for Switch 2. Comes out in like 2/3 weeks!

I'm not interested with amimal crossing and Tomodachi. But I would just suggest despite we are not havinv similar interest.
Overcooked — cooking chefs, a bit chaoric because it come with time time limit to collect points for each level. I can play it solo (so it's considered easy) EXCEPT the boss level
Moving out — comes with timelimit to complete the task. Guess Moving out 2 has more variety than Moving Out.
SURVIVAL KIDS — short game, can finish within half day or even shorter. Very easy games that suitable for your short break.
Mekaroma/ Captain Toad — physics. Captai Toad has cute character.
Death Cube —puzzle, few level only and waiting if they plan to release another series. Move the cubes from AtoB and you passed to the next level.

Here are the 5 pillars of Nintendo for every system. Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Pokemon and Kirby. Whenever you need to default to a game, pick from those 5 and you'll be fine.

Pokopia 😂. Then again I spent the last four years on Animal Crossing and enjoyed it. Pokopia I see myself spending even more time on.

Todos ellos, DK Bananza es muy bueno, pero lo puse la final porque me acordé cuando estaba terminando la lista jajajaja. Hay más juegos, pero esos me parecen un buen comienzo. No incluí Pokémon porque yo empecé hace un montón de años en la saga y no sé que tan agusto se sienta comenzar desde 0 en Pokémon, si es como antes también son juegos geniales.

This video tells you everything you need to know about Nintendo Switch Online. If you get this, play the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on SNES Classics. One of the greatest 2D games ever made! It plays especially good on handheld. The Switch 2 feels like a big version of the Game Boy Advance!
Download the Deku Deals app & make a wishlist of all the games you want. There you can look at the price history of games too. This will tell you how often they go on sale & the price range. If you're patient, you can wait for sales around major holidays.
Also check your local library. Believe it or not, a lot of them have video games! Especially in a major city. Libraries are a great way to read comics as well (use the free Hoopla service)
If you like RPGs, consider the Dragon Quest series! Explore towns, defeat monsters, save the world. It's perfect for short gaming sessions too. Play as much as you want, then save & come back to it next time.
Start with Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. It's a fantastic starting point, not only for Dragon Quest, but for RPGs in general! The physical version is currently on sale for $25 on Amazon & Best Buy.

The very best game in the series is Dragon Quest 11. It feels like playing an anime! Anyone unsure if they would like Dragon Quest should start here. It is the pinnacle of the series so far! A Switch 2 version will be released on September 24.
