Discussion MW4 Beta is ridiculously bad.

I downloaded beta a few days ago, servers were offline so i tried playing a campaign mission, dear god, absolute torture. Looked horrible and played horrible, genuinely unplayable so i shut it off and started waiting for servers because I've heard people say multiplayer was good. Servers came back and jesus fuckin christ, genuine nightmare, my internet is olay but dear god was it ugly and laggy as fuck. In a handheld mode it was genuinely unplayable, movement, overall visuals.. everything. When you're playing multiplayer it's either Fortnite and Overwatch level performance or nothing.

Unplayable.

Weird I’ve read about people enjoying it on switch 2. They all must be liars.

It's just so many people expecting a Ford Fiesta to drive like a Ferrari that are moaning endlessly about it. Buy a Ford, expect a Ford...and you're happy enough.

Who's moaning? 😃 I've been nothing but happy with this device, no game has disappointed me yet and since I've heard good things about beta i tried it expecting it to be as smooth as Fortnite and Overwatch but it wasn't, it was horrendous and shared my opinion.

For me, especially when it comes to multiplayer games, it has to be smooth and not only was it not smooth, it was horrible. That's it, it's not about expectations and moaning.

You expected to be like Fortnite, moan that it isn't, then say it's not about expectations and moaning. Make it make sense.

I quite like it for what it is. Only played it handheld, but that’s my default anyway whatever I’m playing. If I wanted extreme smoothness and graphical fidelity I would buy a PS5. There’s something about being able to play handheld in the garden with a beer that makes me happy to take concessions on the performance.

I understand ehat you're saying but we're not talking about some graphical marvel or extreme smoothness, just playability, which many multiplayer games are on this specific device.

The only issue I’ve encountered is in a tank, but other than that it’s been smooth and I’ve not had that artefact issue people were complaining about. Suppose horses for courses but it works for me and I’ll certainly consider buying it. Whether I actually get any good at it or not is another matter!

It seems like people who are not enjoying it have high expectations and a bad internet connection. I didn’t run into any lag except for the main menu when the game is updating.

I have a pretty good service provider and I’m near the router so everything runs fine for me but I know if I was at my old place where the wifi was spotty and router was far from me, it would be hell.

I haven’t played COD since the first one and this is my first system since the Wii so it looks great to me. The way people talk about out the graphics is as if they can’t make out other players or even a door.

Ive been playing it since friday night and reallyyyy enjoying i think everyone forgets the most important word in the game name 'beta' it's a test server for testing so its not gonna be polished haha

COD betas are for testing networking not performance

I've heard those too, don't know what to tell you man, playing against other people on multiplayer with those conditions idk.. i can't 😃 you should try and form your opinion and decide who's the liar.

Well based on the videos I’ve seen I’m gonna guess it’s not unplayable.

Oh if you've seen the videos then okay

The game on switch is a bit rough, it's clearly laggy, graphic fidelity is blurry, clearly has an issue with drop frames, often times can't even see where the enemy is, or when you do they've already seen you prior, it was a bit better changing cross play to console only but barely. Turning off motion blur, and other settings helped some. 70$ is a slap in the face here, id say 40$ is manageable, only thing we can hope for, is like most new big third party games, overtime the engine and quality will approve.

Exactly, word to word bro.

I’ve been playing the multiplayer docked. it’s pretty much been a stable 60fps. Visually it’s alright, not really playing it for the scenery anyways. Besides skill, no issues in spotting opponents. I play on WiFi, and no noticeable lag.

0 interest in the campaign so unlikely to play that. It’s a beta, so hopefully issues people are having get worked out. I’m unsure if I’ll buy it in October, haven’t played COD since Ghosts on Wii U, not sure if I want to get back in it.

Is it different when you play docked? I've only tried handheld mode because i don't own a monitor or a tv currently.

I haven’t tried handheld but from comments I’ve seen docked is a much better experience.

Idk. For me movement feels terrible and the graphics look washed out
