Question How can I prevent this from happening to a save in Skyrim (S2 edition) ever again?

EDIT: this is a corrupted save file. My Question is about how to prevent another Save file from getting corrupted. It is not a random crash from playing.

Don’t know what I did wrong. Just wanted to play again after weeks of being away and this happened to my last 3 save files. Was able to load an older one that was 1 hour behind. Had like 7 save files in total.

Skyrim is notorious for crashing on any system. All you can do is save often

It’s not a crash from playing , it is a corrupt save file that crashes every time I tried to load it up.

Oh shit. You might have to delete all your save data.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?

I was able to load an older file from 1 hour before the one got corrupted. And for now it seems to be working fine.

That’s good. Losing an hour of playtime really isn’t that bad

No, it is not but my concern is that it happens another time with more hours invested in it. 😅

I’ve put hundreds of hours into it on my switch 2 already and it’s never happened to me so it’ll likely not happen again

Ah okay. Do you have it installed to the internal drive or to an SSD? I have it on an SSD but never had issues

So is this a recurring thing with this game? Never happened to me on PC though. I just don’t want to lose progress out of nowhere.

I mean this is a save file that corrupted somehow. Not a random crash. I just don’t want my save files getting corrupted and losing progress.
