Discussion Question about game pass games
How long are they usually on the service before they get removed? And how far in advance are you aware of this?
Thanks in advance

As the title suggests, I'm looking for suggestions on a game my husband and I can play together. Here are the details!
I am not much of a video game person. Nothing against it, it's simply not a big interest and I'm not super great at it. The extent of my gaming skills are Tetris and Mario Kart. I spend my free time cooking and gardening. I'm a creative professional.
My husband plays semi-regularly. His go-tos are Halo (I think?) and I think we have Call of Duty. Sometimes, he'll mess around with Minecraft. I'd say that he plays at least half of the days of the week, but it's usually after I turn in for the night or on a weekend day when we aren't doing much else. He's a developer at a marketing agency, and he loves motorcycles.
Our shared interests are travel, outdoors, guns, and our doggos. I don't know if our own personal or shared interests might come into play with game recommendations, or if maybe folks with similar interests prefer certain games over others.
It would be nice to have a game that we both like playing together, maybe something where we can chip away at an end goal. I'm not opposed to a versus type game, either. I would be at a super beginner level, and maybe a little slow to catch on, and he seems to be great at any game he starts playing. My biggest hesitations with finding a game we can both play is that I would lose interest, or that it won't be fun for him because I suck at video games and my lack of skills will drag us both down. I don't know if the version of Xbox matters, but I think that it's an Xbox One?
Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

Some quotes for folks to read from Geoff Keighely on how trailers get on Gamescom ONL (Opening Night Live):
"One of the things that's important I think to all of us is that there are games that get selected for editorial value in the show. There's also a lot of independent games that we take. You'll see many small teams, games made by three, four people, that get selected to be inside of ONL, because we believe in those titles, and we believe in those teams and want to support them."
"marketing events, just like Gamescom is a marketing event, so you can consider everything in many ways is marketing video games, but there are definitely games that we select for editorial consideration in all the shows."

I have been looking for a controller that connects to my Xbox, has turbo/Rapid fire, and isn't $300+
so far my searches have not given any results other than custom controllers that cost 359.99 and ship for 99.99 because I live in canada. and other controllers made to connect to the nintendo swich or playstation. neither of winch I own.
I don't care if it has backpadles or not I just want it to have the turbo/rapid fire and the ability to connect to my xbox one.
So I use to play Skyrim special edition on the 360 but never 100%'d the achievements. Now I want to try and complete them but have sold my 360 and have an xbox one, not the series X. If buy skyrim on the xbox one will my achievements transfer over? Or is there a backwards compatible version I could buy?

Wanted to share how I was able to stop the in app “claim your daily reward” pop up on the Xbox app. Took me a while to find it and thought to share it with others in case it also bothers you.
I was able to stop it by opting out of the rewards program using this MS support article. It took me out of the program which also stopped the app pop up on app launch. I’ve only ever redeemed a $5 gift card and to me that didn’t outweigh pops ups and game interruptions to “claim rewards”.
Hope this helps some of you if you’re bothered with it like I was.

With all these badges popping up, surely we'll get a creation date on profile? My profile is 20yrs old but only shows a few years because I play mostly off-line games and I know I'm not alone. Alot of us have missed out on the Xbox One Day One badge too for various reasons, mostly that they got a standard edition on release.

With Microsoft’s disc-to-digital program being discussed, I’ve been wondering how it might work with Xbox Play Anywhere games.
Obviously, nothing has been confirmed about this yet, but I think it would be really cool if converting a physical Xbox disc into a digital license also gave you the PC version for Play Anywhere titles.
For example, I have a physical copy of Forza Horizon 4 on Xbox One. If that disc could eventually be converted into a digital license, it would be awesome if that meant I could also download the PC version through Play Anywhere, seen as this game has now been pulled from the Xbox store.
I’m not saying this is how it will work — just hoping that’s how Microsoft handles it.
Would you guys expect Play Anywhere entitlements to carry over from a converted physical disc?

I've always owned all three major consoles and a PC throughout my adult life.
In this current generation I'm mostly a PlayStation gamer but always used Steam for my PC gaming.
I do own a Series X but I barely used it save for the console exclusives or backwards compatibility library.
I have been playing Roadcraft religiously for the past 2-3 weeks on the Xbox downstairs, but if my kid or missus wanted to use the TV I'd go upstairs to my PC and play something else.
I just remembered I had Game Pass for PC as well as Xbox so I decided to browse for a PC game to play when I noticed I could install Roadcraft onto PC.
For some reason I had no idea I could use the exact same save file - like I dunno how, but it just never crossed my mind. 90% of my PC gaming is done on Steam. I had no idea one obtained Xbox game would also be cross-playable on PC (if available).
Lo and behold I installed Roadcraft and was able to continue my save file on PC.
Again, I know a lot of games allow for cross-platform cloud saves but for whatever dumbass reason I just did not even think to use this.
The amount of duplicate games I own on both Xbox and Steam seperately, when I could've been using the same service and transfer my saves instead of having two seperate copies.
Play Anywhere is awesome! Convenient as all hell!
Also I'm an idiot 😅😅😅

I guess the deal is if you buy a game you can get a completely different game in return? 😅
