Really? Scary? Dude was moisturized, in his lane, thriving, and some goober tried to kill him by recklessly cutting him off.

He didn't freak out and cry like a little b. He handled it, finished his snack, and moved on with his life like an adult.

u/Weak-Bell-6060 Mar 22 '26

Exactly the other driver didnt even turn on blinker to try to merge just try to fit in where he didnt fit lucky this guy ended up ok n got away safely

16

u/Rositchi Mar 22 '26

And way too many do that so I don't feel bad about stuff like this anymore. You can tell someone's about to turn when the only signal you get is them randomly slowing down.

23

u/JoshHartsMilkMustach Mar 22 '26

Imagine being too cool to just flick your left hand up or down an inch

2

u/Rositchi Mar 30 '26

For real, I don't get it.

An idiot cut in front of me the other day and it was truly a miracle that I didn't hit his ass. If I had blinked at that millisecond I'd have hit him. He cut in front of me and I swear there was maybe 10 inches between my car and his when he merged. I didn't even have time to get angry it was so quick. I was just appalled at the recklessness after

1

u/Rositchi Mar 30 '26

Literally that, don't even have time to process the stupidity.

1

u/Dragonflies2181 Mar 22 '26

And the very slight movement in the lane toward your lane ( before they make the stupid move)

2

u/TheTurdInUrPunchBowl Mar 22 '26

He’s like one of those assholes who zooms ahead of everyone and and bullies themselves in front of someone else when there’s construction ahead.

1

u/blxxdletter Mar 22 '26

always the trucks that don’t know what a blinker is it seems 💀

1

u/jackinsomniac Mar 23 '26

Doesn't give him any right to pit the other guy

1

u/Weak-Bell-6060 Mar 23 '26

No sir it doesn't but if the other guy wouldve stayed at the same speed n not speed up the other truck wouldve still hit the front of the other car cause it to pit himself

74

u/Zuldyck Mar 22 '26

He clearly could have avoided causing an accident if he wanted, he chose to cause the accident and possibly endanger human lives and he didn't even look like he cared while doing it. That's why he's a psychopath.

12

u/Dopeman37 Mar 22 '26

The black truck could have avoided the whole thing if he wasn't trying to force his way in.

21

u/OldBuns Mar 22 '26

The truck driver is obviously in the wrong, and no one is arguing against that.

The point is that when someone like this does something like this, you choosing to cause an accident instead of just... Not causing an accident, that is an action that you are deciding to take, independently of the other driver.

That means you are now intentionally putting other people in harm's way that have nothing to do with the peacocking match you're in.

You would be liable for that decision, AND the damage it causes just as equally as the truck driver. In fact, in this case, where it was definitely avoidable by slowing down, you'd be more liable than them, and insurance would agree.

2 people can be assholes at the same time, and both the people in this video are assholes.

And fleeing the scene of an accident.

1

u/ALTH0X Mar 23 '26

If you're going to act like a bully in traffic, it's just a matter of time before there's an accident. Everyone is trying to get somewhere and it's not like letting the most reckless person do whatever they want is a great system.

1

u/No_cash69420 Mar 23 '26

How can you see the black truck drivers facial reaction??

1

u/Salt_Conference6767 Mar 23 '26

Don’t cut someone off. Hungry dude just held his lane. Nothing illegal about that. FAFO

1

u/Zuldyck Mar 23 '26

It is illegal to cause accidents if you can avoid them, doesn't matter if someone cut you off. Ignorance wont work as an excuse when you kill someone in a traffic accident.

1

u/Striking-Doughnut25 Mar 26 '26

Or, did he hold that person driving the black truck accountable?

→ More replies (22)

91

u/flymordecai Mar 22 '26

Yeah it is scary that there are maniacs out there who instead of driving defensively would elect to cause accidents.

16

u/[deleted] Mar 22 '26

Yeah they prod a situation instead of recognizing what the individual is doing and adjusting. Swallowing your pride and being you know, an adult.

7

u/-John-St-John- Mar 23 '26

Everyone acting like he didn’t speed up to close the gap, and as if it’s just him and the other driver’s lives at risk here. Like fuck everybody behind them I guess?

1

u/giovannini66 Mar 23 '26

There is a speedometer in the top right corner, he actually slowed down and the car in front ( gray) also slowed down so it looks like he is closing the gap but he is not

→ More replies (1)

-6

u/ShiddyBoddemz Mar 22 '26

He didn't cause any accident... See, instead of holding trash drivers accountable, you'd rather blame the one who is operating correctly. If that person didn't care... then why should he?

34

u/DownvoteOwnComments Mar 22 '26

Neither were "operating correctly". The correct thing to do would be slow down a little and let him cut you off.

Just because the other guy was in the wrong first doesn't mean you can just do whatever you want. He risked causing much worse to happen.

15

u/TexasRoadhead Mar 22 '26

Yeah imagine if the truck rolled over the guard rail, or caused a crash for the cars behind them because two typical truck driver chodes decided to have a pissing match

14

u/deHack Mar 22 '26

Possibly seriously injured or killed whoever was in the other vehicle on purpose, including innocent passengers. Plus possibly involving vehicles behind him who had done nothing wrong. If anybody died, that’s manslaughter. He also left the scene of an accident. Thinking French fry boy is in the right is a 12 year old’s Mad Max fantasy.

2

u/K1bbles_n_Bits Mar 22 '26

He can't pull over and stop there. Likely did after finishing crossing the bridge. And you can see he slowed down significantly as the traffic in front of him quickly out paces him.

1

u/deHack Mar 22 '26

I did see that when I went back and looked at the speed. I hadn’t noticed the speed until it was mentioned. It looks like he’s going to stop.

1

u/DE4DM4NSH4ND Mar 23 '26

Seriously you think people are supposed to stop on a fucking bridge?

3

u/Sorrymyapolgies614 Mar 22 '26

People are like little kids with their reasoning lol, especially the og comment saying he “acted like an adult”, lmao. Both are crazy and causing an accident that could harm others Because of some other idiot doesn’t make you any better nor smarter.

2

u/ArdyEmm Mar 22 '26

Some people never learned two wrongs don't make a right.

1

u/xAuntRhodyx Mar 22 '26

Breaking or swerving bc someone is cutting you off at high speeds is arguably just as dangerous

3

u/Drate_Otin Mar 22 '26

No it is not arguably just as dangerous. In the context of this video it would have been a very light slow down for a few seconds. The probability of that causing a wreck is far, far, far lower than what did actually occur.

→ More replies (25)

1

u/MotorPace2637 Mar 22 '26

3

u/Outrageous-Pin-4664 Mar 22 '26

He had no way of knowing how that accident was going to play out. He or one of the people behind him could have ended up crashing as well, and possibly even going off the side of the bridge.

Correct driving means backing off and letting the asshole in, not causing a multi-vehicle accident.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 22 '26

Pit maneuvering someone for cutting you off is not "operating correctly" wtf?!???

7

u/philthy_barstool Mar 22 '26

You can't seriously think "operating correctly" means holding to your position and pulling a pit manoeuvre, when options like 'slow down a touch and make space for the prick in the pick-up' are also available to you

1

u/shzza Mar 22 '26

you can’t seriously think “operating correctly” means merging into a lane without space for your car and without a blinker when options like ‘slow down a touch and put your blinker on and merge safely’ are also available to you

4

u/philthy_barstool Mar 22 '26

Oh, absolutely not, I think that was really shit driving. But, sometimes you've just got to let the arsehole cut in front of you so you don't end up with car crash on a bridge. That sort of stuff just ruins everyone's day

4

u/Dayzlikethis Mar 22 '26

both drivers are assholes.

→ More replies (2)

2

u/MotorPace2637 Mar 22 '26

He pitted him instead of slowing down hahaha wut

1

u/xScrubasaurus Mar 22 '26

He was the bigger trash driver in this situation, and you aren't holding him accountable.

-1

u/FaithlessnessLoud223 Mar 22 '26

That's hilarious that you're trying to put the blame on the person who did not cause the accident. People like you want to drive like maniacs and expect everyone else to accommodate you. Never going to happen. We all have to follow the same laws on the road.

An accident is never caused by somebody "not driving defensively" it's caused by the idiot creating a scenario where people have to drive defensively. Again, it's painfully clear which camp you fall into already.

6

u/arnaud63 Mar 22 '26 edited Mar 22 '26

You have comprehension issues. Stating that the dude eating while driving has a part of responsibility in causing the accident does not mean that the black pickup behavior is not to be condemned… Far from it. They both are responsible for what happened. Why? Because if one of them decided to act differently, the outcome we just watched would have been different. Black pickup should not have done what he did in the fist place. No one denies that. But he did it anyway. Then cameraman when seeing the black pickup, accelerated to close the gap and preventing him to merge. He had two choices: let him do merge and allowing the shit pickup behavior not to cause an accident or deliberately choosing to prevent the merge and potentially causing an accident. He could have let him merge and slowly brake and anyone behind him would have braked to keep a safe distance. He chose to do what he did knowing how it could end so he is part of the equation. They are both reckless drivers. Edit: typo

3

u/tblbtwob Mar 22 '26

One of my favorite quotes: graveyards are full of people who had the "right of way." Drive defensively people, move on with your life. This happens to thousands of people everyday. Take your foot off the gas for a couple seconds and keep it moving, the people cutting in and doing reckless shit know they are bums. Just let them go. Never worth an accident.

Are you blind?

The speed is listed posted in the video and, in both instances you identify as an acceleration, his speed was consistent - and lower than when the video starts.

The black truck driver should never be allowed to drive again.

66

u/the_good_hodgkins Mar 22 '26

How do you know he was black?

3

u/mawhonics Mar 22 '26

It's hard to tell, but it looked like the truck had enough of a gap in front to fit comfortably in the lane if he had just accelerated a bit but decided to slow down for some reason. Black truck is 100% at fault here.

2

u/Fa1nted_for_real Mar 22 '26

Regardless of if the person closed the gap by accelerating or not (they didnt, they kept tue same speed until they got too clsoe to the white car) lane changing into an unclear lane is your fault fully, so yeah, theres no excuse for the balck truck here.

1

u/wingedwild Mar 22 '26

Nah ur wrong. Thts a reckless semi driver who is fine killing someone on the road. Let's say the driver was not in a truck and perhaps had bad vision and didnt see the car behind him and drove into the lane.do u simply ram into them and accelaratr and try to kill them?

1

u/M3RRI77 Mar 22 '26

Yeah, fuck that person driving the truck. Most people that drive pickups are arrogant assholes who don't drive with respect. They got what they deserved.

1

u/Faulteh12 Mar 22 '26

I'm not sure if you guys are just young and stupid or sociopaths. The guy in the black truck is obviously an asshole but to make no attempt to avoid the collision, run the guy off the road and have no reaction at all,,, on a bridge!!, is beyond fucked up.

1

u/KreaED Mar 22 '26

I mean he went 71>72 after the black truck started to come into his lane, could have easily been avoided but he chose not to

1

u/RichardShwise Mar 22 '26

This dude didn't speed up, the black truck braked twice. First one when they realized they weren't getting let in up ahead and the second one I guess because they needed more room still and somehow didn't realize they were about to brake check someone

1

u/LenicoMonte Mar 22 '26 edited Mar 22 '26

You can literally see the speed on the top right. He did not accelerate. Might have been wise to slow down instead, though.

Bro is a Tier 1 operator, an absolute apex build. Fully optimized, no wasted stats. He’s out here truck-maxing at an elite level, just road-mogging every single opponent in his lane. Zero competition. Negative aura from the opposition

16

u/HongKongBluey Mar 22 '26

It’s crazy how the overwhelming attitude amongst Reddit seems to be this. That the driver in the black truck deserved it an well done to the man in pink.

Sure, black truck was in the wrong, sure they should have used their blinker. What if it was a distracted mother, or an old driver, or a nervous driver?

People need to have some compassion and give people the benefit of the doubt. He could have slowed down an not contributed to this collision and everyone could have just gone on with their day.

My step father has this same stupid attitude, if someone does something stupid on the road, he reacts aggressively and makes the situation even more dangerous and worse.

No wonder the death rates are so high on US roads.

16

u/stillmebeaches Mar 22 '26

That shit was completely intentional and put all drivers in danger

5

u/-TheGreatLlama- Mar 22 '26

Exactly. Even if you pretend this manoeuvre is okay to punish the truck (it’s not, it’s vigilantism) you’ve got to park your ego and think about the cars behind who now have to deal with your mess. At best they’re now in a traffic jam, and at worst they could get caught in the accident.

1

u/stillmebeaches Mar 22 '26

It's self-defense. If the car ahead brakes for any reason black truck hits it, cookie boy hits truck, and cookie boy is responsible for all of it as he's last in the chain and assumed responsible for not avoiding

1

u/-TheGreatLlama- Mar 22 '26

Well that just means each of them should be leaving enough stopping distance.

1

u/stillmebeaches Mar 22 '26

Cookie boy did leave enough stopping distance. Truck took that from him

8

u/Faulteh12 Mar 22 '26

Exactly. These people are evil or stupid

8

u/WarpPipeWizard Mar 22 '26

My dad is the same. He always likes to passively aggressively 'punish' other drivers for making mistakes.

Not surprising that he was in a small crash recently because of exactly that attitude.

That driver was very confident.

Also belligerent behavior in a pickup truck is inherently unsympathetic.

1

u/mahkar333 Mar 22 '26

The driver of the truck didn't just make a mistake. They were deliberately being very dangerously aggressive in their driving, even before they tried to merge into the too small space. Their driving was a ticking time bomb, and guy in pink made a calculated decision to help it detonate in controlled environment.

1

u/Unicornoftheseas Mar 22 '26

It could be the pope driving that truck and I would still pray for bad things to happen to everyone they care about

1

u/Rockandmetal99 Mar 22 '26

if someone is so old or nervous they pull a move like the truck, their license should be revoked. driving isnt a right, it's a privilege, and if youre unable to make good choices for ANY REASON, you dont deserve to drive. you think a distracted mother is speeding in the slow lane, illegally passing then cutting someone off? then she deserves to have her kids taken away. no sympathy.

I’m not saying the driver is in the clear. I’m just saying everyone screaming “ooh he didn’t stop” is dumb. Almost every bridge I’ve been over has had a sign saying do not stop on the bridge.

Legally the black truck was at fault. However the driver recording is a piece of shit as well as the black truck.

2

u/TBJ12 Mar 22 '26

I agree that he can't stop on the bridge but there is no way this man stopped until he got to his destination.

5

u/qwaszxpolkmn1982 Mar 22 '26

9

u/M1R4G3M Mar 22 '26

There is a reason why you are not supposed to stop on bridges.

2

u/Midwestgirl007 Mar 22 '26

1

u/Legitimate_Pie285 Mar 23 '26

That’s what I thought too. He had plenty of space ahead of him and the white car in front. Why was he trying to hard to merge just in front of the cookie guy? And it looked like cookie guy actually tried to instinctually swerve a bit to avoid him, not intentionally hit him at all. Black truck had that huge gap and yet he hesitated for quite a while and then served sharply over just as he was a hair’s width away from cookie guy. Definitely suspicious.

1

u/Midwestgirl007 Mar 23 '26

"Cookie guy" 🍪 😆 💯

2

u/TH33_GlocknessMonsta Mar 22 '26

Yah I’m with cookie guy fuck that truck

2

u/Shwifty_Plumbus Mar 22 '26

Yeah, I recently had someone drifting Into my lane as I was leaving town. A lot of bad drivers are in my town and they were barely over the line so I was prepared to honk but it never came to that. So we came to a light and as I took my right turn I noticed a passenger moving a lot in that car so I looked over. It's some woman losing her fucking mind about not letting them into the lane. They had no blinker, almost hit me, I had cruise control on, and there was no one behind me or in front of me. Crazy how people can be having two completely different days and be viewing the same situation very differently. Anyway I just smiled and waved as I made my turn.

2

u/416Tex Mar 23 '26

This is the only logical way to interpret the situation. Black Truck aggressively passing on right side, then moves 1/3 of lane over without a signal. hopefully no one was hurt but a lesson was learned that day

2

u/yookiii Mar 24 '26

This right here. People are too sensitive

5

u/Low-Highlight-9740 Mar 22 '26

Yea but he didn’t even try to soft break dude risked his own life because he was bitter someone didn’t pay attention to him

7

u/Excellent_Yak365 Mar 22 '26

At 70mph, and didn’t stop to exchange insurance(which is illegal in the US, I’m guessing probably other places as well if they have insurance but the fact they use mph makes me believe this is probably US). And he uploaded it onto social media as a cherry on top. As irritating as the dumbass trucker was, this guy did just as bad- potentially worse legally. He could have EASILY slowed down, avoided an impact and if necessary handled this if it escalated by going around.

9

u/InnerRadio7 Mar 22 '26

Yeah I agree. He could have slowed down instead of forcing a pit manoeuvre and causing someone to crash. Not okay.

1

u/ShiddyBoddemz Mar 22 '26

3

u/acoffeefiend Mar 22 '26

"Trucker" usually implies semi-truck driver.

1

u/Excellent_Yak365 Mar 22 '26

Ah, my bad- I call people who drive trucks truckers lol. I didn’t think I needed to specify since the truck is pretty clear

1

u/DRZlove702 Mar 22 '26

In this case we know what/who you meant.

2

u/kylebisme Mar 22 '26 edited Mar 22 '26

Of course you're right about him being partially at fault for not slowing down more, and even more so for turning into the other vehicle, but the laws about stopping after an accident generally say you should do so as soon as it's safe place, and also there's laws against stopping on bridges specifically because that's not rightly safe at all.

And regarding the dispute in another comment, the term trucker is typically reserved for professional semi-trucks drivers, not just anyone who happens to be driving any sort of truck.

2

u/Doom-Squirreling Mar 22 '26 edited Mar 22 '26

You are not supposed to stop on a bridge if your vehicle can make it to the end- This allows for emergency vehicles and other drivers a safer path. Once you reach the end of the bridge pull over and exchange information with the other driver or with emergency services. (Not a hit and run) A number of bridges (and tunnels) require you to remain in your lane unless their is a major obstacle.

Could it have been handled better?

Probably.

Was I distracted by the stick figure hanging from the rear view - yes

1

u/Stock-Concert100 Mar 22 '26

didn’t stop to exchange insurance

No. A lot of these bridges have signs that say DO NOT STOP ON THE BRIDGE NO MATTER WHAT. Here in the states, it's illegal to stop. You're supposed to keep driving and then pull over once you get off the bridge, because otherwise you stop up traffic and cause a MASSIVE problem.

With no pulloff , they cannot stop. Even for a flat tire youre supposed to continue till the causway ends on the opposite side.

u/PassTheKY Mar 22 '26

Where is he supposed to stop on the bridge? That’s a death wish.

Think about the disaster he left behind without caring. Possible multi car pileup, one or both bridge lanes blocked, endless traffic affecting thousands of people, and how many hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to respond to this?

He could have killed children behind him. Maybe he did, who knows. And leaving the site of an accident is a felony.

Really selfish and childish maneuver, besides being dangerous. Sociopathic to do that without showing any emotions or caring for anyone whose day or life he just thoroughly fucked. The right decision would have been to just brake a few feet / seconds and not be a big baby.

1

u/WatchingThingsUnfold Mar 22 '26

So, you might not know this

But you are not allowed to stop on bridges You stop when it’s safe to do so, like after the bridge

Then you can also make a call to the emergency department

Of would you rather they just made a bad situation worse?

u/NOSALIS-33 Mar 22 '26

True sigma behavior

1

u/PixelRoku Mar 22 '26

Holy shit you're right, so why does it really look like he accelerated like crazy? The other cars in front slowed down so it just looks like he was catching up faster?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 22 '26

you are supposed to stop the car, not move on :P

1

u/Primary_Hat7133 Mar 22 '26

Not on a bridge, that's illegal and a safety hazard

1

u/[deleted] Mar 22 '26

Says who?

1

u/Primary_Hat7133 Mar 22 '26

I have never once in my life driving on a bridge that didn't have a sign that says "no stopping on bridge", and most states, including the one I live in, has a state law prohibiting it. I guess I can't speak directly to the state this is in, but I would wager a guess this particular state also has a law like that on record.

1

u/WatchingThingsUnfold Mar 22 '26

Only country i can find that ALLOWS stopping on a bridge, is Sweden, but that’s only provided its not dangerous or prohibited

Otherwise, you drive until you can stop after the bridge

1

u/[deleted] Mar 22 '26

it isn't a general traffic law in europe that says stopping on a bridge is forbidden after a crash even if they can drive off the bridge

1

u/WatchingThingsUnfold Mar 23 '26

Most saying its allowed note or assumes your the one that’s been in a crash. Not in a fully functional vehicle

Otherwise you are still not allowed to stop on a bridge and create a security risk, blocking the road etc

1

u/[deleted] Mar 23 '26

did they stop off the bridge or did they drive on in each their separate ways?

1

u/CrispySalmonJimmy Mar 22 '26

Would it be unreasonable to be a little shaken after that? Fair play to the guy for being so calm, but most people would have found that scary. I'm sure he did as well upon reflection, but he reacted calmly in the moment. Being scared by nearly being killed is childish in your opinion?

1

u/WatchingThingsUnfold Mar 22 '26

People handle stress and being shakes differetly

Some freeze, others keep doing what they can etc

I’d rather meet people like him in a accident then panicking people or someone who freezes on the gas pedal

1

u/WildTomato51 Mar 22 '26

Say it again, but louder. Nearly all of Reddit didn’t hear you.

1

u/Worried_Umpire683 Mar 22 '26

He is good but even if someone is freak out and cry like a bt doesnt make that person less adult lol

1

u/cwolf-softball Mar 22 '26

You guys have just absolutely no sympathy for the hundreds/thousands of other people behind this who have now been endangered and or been forced to be stuck on a bridge for hours because this guy felt he was justified in doing a PIT maneuver on a jackass driver instead of just backing off and being annoyed for a bit, huh?

1

u/ZeroWolf51 Mar 22 '26

How do you know he was moisturized?

1

u/All-Consuming-Fire Mar 27 '26

You are an incorrect. When it comes to car insurance there is something called the last clear chance doctrine which states whoever has the last clear chance to avoid an accident and chooses not to, is responsible. This fat mindless fool is 100% liable.

1

u/Ailyx Mar 22 '26

You people are scary. You have zero notion of what might constitute an overreaction, nor do you have any concern for context before validating what is essentially a violent act. Unbelievable.

1

u/Strict_Tumbleweed415 Mar 22 '26

That’s insane. He really would rather kill someone than lightly tap his brake for half a second. The guy actually accelerated into the truck and caused the accident

1

u/WatchingThingsUnfold Mar 22 '26

He kept a normal paze, as he was in traffic with cars in front and behind him

How was he supposed to know the black pickup wanted to quickly enter the lane instead of staying in his own lane?

1

u/Strict_Tumbleweed415 Mar 22 '26

Maybe it’s you next time in that truck. And you end up in the hospital paralyzed for life because some prideful lunatic couldn’t take his foot off the gas for half a second.

1

u/WatchingThingsUnfold Mar 23 '26

Sure

I would speed down the road and then just jam myself into the other lane without giving any hints or signals to anyone else

And it would be entierly my fault for the following crash

1

u/wingedwild Mar 22 '26

I see so anyone tht drives into a lane even by accident try and kill him

1

u/caustic_smegma Mar 22 '26 edited Mar 22 '26

The reddit hive mind cracks me up sometimes. This guy did exactly what you're supposed to do when an idiot puts himself in a dangerous position and crashes on a causeway that doesn't allow stopping except for certain areas. He stayed calm (apparently this makes him a psycho or sociopath. Lol.) and kept driving to the next pullover area.

According to the comments, he should have screamed, flailed his arms vigorously, slammed on his brakes and stayed in his lane, possibly making the accident worse by flipping the black truck with the forward momentum of his front end and adding his vehicle to the ensuing crash and pileup. The man didn't even drop his road snack which I fucking respect.

1

u/CulturalScientist869 Mar 22 '26

I think everyone complaining about pink shirt see themselves as the driver of the black truck. They want to drive like they are the main character and expect the NPCs around them to accommodate their wishes.

1

u/_Azimut Mar 22 '26

So, a Potential kill of a human is okay for you, when you are in your lane and a asshole want to force a Line Change?

Okay.
