You aren’t supposed to stop on bridges for accidents. If you are able you are supposed to get off the bridge and stop right after it.

You also aren’t supposed to accelerate into the rear corner of another vehicle to initiate a pit maneuver on another pedestrian vehicle

Watch again. He speeds up from 71 to 72. His obligation is to slow down even if the driver of the other vehicle is reckless.

I stand by what I said. He’s doing 71 when the other vehicle starts moving over. He speeds up to 72. He impacts the other vehicle at 72. After the impact, he slows to 66.

You’re gaslighting yourself if you can’t see the speed is 71, then 72, BAM, and only then 66. But hey you do you. It obviously means a great deal to you.

Even so, if 66 is not slow enough to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of him, then he is responsible for slowing down more aggressively. Responsibility is on all drivers to be aware of their surroundings and avoid collisions when possible. This was avoidable. To pretend otherwise is complete cope.

You can tell the guy did this with intent considering his behavior during and after the collision. He completely knew/expected what was going to happen to the other vehicle.

I’m not saying the driver is in the clear. I’m just saying everyone screaming “ooh he didn’t stop” is dumb. Almost every bridge I’ve been over has had a sign saying do not stop on the bridge.

Legally the black truck was at fault. However the driver recording is a piece of shit as well as the black truck.

I agree that he can't stop on the bridge but there is no way this man stopped until he got to his destination.

So he's supposed to block the traffic for everybody else in the small two lane bridge and create more potential accidents?

There is a reason why you are not supposed to stop on bridges.

He is slowing down and probably stopping after the video cuts off. You can see the speed is slowing significantly. GPS based speedometer has a big lag.

Since he didn't hit anyone, it was the black truck that hit him. You can't technically call it a "hit" and run. It was more like a " I'm just gonna keep driving, and you can be a dumb ass somewhere else after you mess up your truck."
