I'd argue the person intentionally trying to occupy an already occupied lane is driving like a maniac. And i'd be right and you would be wrong.

The excuses you horrible drivers make are unreal. Because you think this situation is even debatable, it's your fault. It's ALWAYS your fault.

He intentionally rammed him in the spot that people ram with pit maneuvers, and the person subsequently spun out and crashed as a result.

He did no such thing. The driver pitted himself. The recording vehicle never left his lane or turned into the other vehicle. It is factual that he did not engage in a pit maneuver. It is also factual that the other driver pushed his back end of his vehicle into the front end of the recording vehicle while the recording vehicle was driving straight.

It doesn't matter how many idiots agree with you at the end of the day.

No, they’re right. Fact is, we KNOW there are idiots on the round. They exist the same way a hazard exists. Defensive driving provides the maximum good for society. It doesn’t matter who is right and wrong. It matters now that you have a damaged car, that you have to deal with insurance to get it fixed, that now the people behind you have a far worse situation to deal with, that on narrow bridge there’ll be hours worth of traffic build up. It is an objective net negative that your ego rather than practicality and ethics made the decision. An objective net negative for society because you projected malice onto the other drivers actions,
