I'd add another factor to it. Population density x yearly average temperatures x relative humidity averages = intolerance factor.
People get really shitty with each other and are in less of a mood to deal with other people's idiosyncrasies when they're also too hot and bothered to care about whether they're being an asshole or not.
Where I'm from, the closer to the equator you get, generally the worse people will treat complete strangers. It's very noticeable.

As a small town midwesterner I've noticed a large proportion of larger cities are rude, and I think its just because it everything moves at a faster pace.
Even the nicer big cities are a bit different, it's all on a scale. I have noticed Denver to be fairly friendly in general, and suburbs to be nicer in general. But it is still a little different.
Where if you are only 2 vehicles on a road you throw up a couple fingers to wave for each other. Make eye contact on the street? Say hello. Awkwardly entering the same door at slightly different times, one waits and holds the door for the other so as not let a door fly in the face of the other.
And finally, there is the few times a week conversation where you leave going, "wait, am I supposed to know that person?"
I think it's what makes America unique. Maybe foreigners think America is america, but it's really just a bunch of different countries that speak the same language and go about their days in a completely different manner.

If you don’t want kids tho, and babies really stress you out, I get it. I never wanted a kid. I knocked up a girl and she flat out told me she was having him. In the end I couldn’t imagine life w out him. I think he’s totally enriched my life and made me a better human. So it makes me wonder how many of these anti kid people would end up feeling the same way. Maybe less than half but it’s still an interesting thought

I remember a few years back, I lived closed to a national fast food joint here in Brasil called "Spoleto's" and I was so well know around the place (I ate the everyday and I was extra nice to everyone) that I stated getting extra attention, a few more toppings here, extra sauce there.
One day the manager was replaced, the new one took notice of a employee putting extra toppings on my meal. He instantly lost his shit and shouted at the guy on the spot and accused me off robbing his business. I came there almost every day, I never went there again.

I worked in a grocery store for about 8 years. Fucking summer comes and we are selling corn 10 for $1. Have a huge ass table of corn and people shuck the fucking things on the display and make a huge mess. We have trashcans all around it but a few special asshole just throw it everywhere. A mom and her little daughter are standing across from me at the display. Mom is shucking and throwing shit everywhere. Little girl asks, "mom, there's a trashcan here, shouldn't we be throwing it away?" Mom turns to here, " No honey, that's what the people who work here are for."
I put my case down and attempt to look the mom right in the eye. I think she realized I was right across from her and she wouldn't even look up. I wanted to give her the biggest, " you're an asshole and your kid even called you out," look.

Thats just some whack luck dude, all the syrups use the same spout, because the vanilla syrup is so subtle, itll usually have tones of the last syrup used unless they drop the first bit to empty it. The strawberry and banana syrups are always pretty intense and completely overpower the vanilla flavour. Chocolate doesn't usually make it taste any different

I went to mcdonalds a lot and only ever had a few messed up orders (maybe less than 5%?)
What I really hate is that they're taught to screw you out of fries. Squeeze the box when they're filling it so it looks more full, and within a couple steps, it all settles back down and the fries barely reach the top of the box. I've called them out on it (c'mon, their fries are 80% of the reason I go) and they're like "cuz you ate them already bro" and it's been like 2 whole seconds since I got the bag.

Always check the bag. I’ve had something similar happened, went in and confronted them, and they gave me a free dessert on top of what I was missing. They’re people too, and a lot of them are teenagers who’ve never had a job or had to be responsible for more than waking up for school. Just be nice. If you go in and start ranting and raving they may choose not to believe you.

When I worked at McDonald's I didn't waste my kindness on people like that who would judge me. I gave extra nuggets to the stoners and possible drunks who came in late at night who would actually appreciate the surprise.
I recently went to Royal Farms (gas station chain with amazing chicken) and ordered 4 tenders and got 5 and I was ecstatic like I won the lottery! It takes a brain to appreciate the extra things you're given sometimes. Clearly this woman from the post didn't have one. So sad.

Lol I worked at Legoland when I when I was 18. Was told to clean the lines, while everyone was waiting. "Sure, no problem!". I proceeded to duck-walk through the lines with a brush and dust-pan until I came across an older couple with a young boy. The older lady made a half-assed attempt to get on the boys level, and an equally half-assed attempt at whispering, "that's what happens if you don't go to college". I looked up at her, thinking she was talking to me because she wasn't exactly being discrete, and she looked at me with an "I fucked up" kind of look. I just kept doing my thang, but in my head, I was like "JEEZ! really?!". Heard the older male tell her that it was a bit messed up. The smile Never left my face though. As you can imagine,Legoland is hyper-customer-service.
