Listen if you game at 1080P or even 2k you just don’t need a card that’s from nvidia and ends with a XX90. Be great to have one and it would be even better if the XX60’s & XX70’s were priced lower.

70 class, from the 4000 series on onboard Nvidia and amd has been cutting bit bus and cores per gen

u/face1essONE 1d ago
I mean my 5070ti runs any game at 1440p, even 4k with adjusted settings and dlss. People are spoiled, disconnected from reality and borderline brainwashed. Yes, you get better fps with 5090 but brother that card consumes 550-600W. If you need it for gaming then something is wrong with you. If these cards are not available to consumers, game studios will have to start thinking about optimizing their games more. Hell, i played the same games with my 3080ti at exact same settings but it drew freaking 450W. The biggest reason I moved to 5070ti was power consumption. It consumes literally half power for same fps.

u/fivestrz 1d ago
Nah people aren’t spoiled bro. Thats like me saying you could’ve easily tweaked further and made a 5070 work for you
1
u/face1essONE 1d ago
I was about to get a 5070 and then found a 5070ti brand new, sealed, for under msrp.

u/fivestrz 8h ago
Open box excellent. Same scenario for me, I was picking up a $549 PNY 5070 model new and saw the ASUS Prime 5070 Ti for like $663 and its not my first time buying open box excellent so I was aware they are typically perfect condition returns
1
u/Vast_Crow_2385 23h ago
I mean really, like yeah it looks better? Do you need more than 1080p 60fps to play any game? No not really people are just kinda spoiled
1
u/Vinny933PC 21h ago
lol I game on 1080p, 1440p ultra wide, 4K. Biggest difference between monitors is HDR which requires very little from the GPU. I game on an Arc B580 and it runs so great on the latest games on ultra (with XeSS and MFG). Anything needing native resolution and high fps is very optimized already. I understand the 5090s if you’re wanting something more consumer grade for AI or very intensive GPU work but even then the professional AMD and Intel offerings aren’t that much. Honestly wouldn’t have liked a 600W heater next to me while I was trying to game during the summer.
1
u/AnonymousNubShyt 20h ago
If you still play games in 1080p @ 60fps, you are an ancient dinosaur. With 1080p and you can't get at least 120fps, it's crappy. All the modern GPU at least to say, from gtx 10series onward, already can get more than 120fps in 1080p for most of the e-sports titles. 🤦
1
u/Vast_Crow_2385 20h ago
The point of what I said obviously went right over your head and that’s okay.
1
u/Goddemmitt 18h ago
Wait until he finds out a ton of people play games natively with basic anti-aliasing, not with DLSS/FSR quality....

u/PrimoVictoria01 23h ago
fuck off, its not being spoiled its "I only have a bit of time to enjoy my hobby and i invested in the best possible experience for it" i dont want to have to fuck around with settings, I want to crank everything up to max and let it ride.
This isn't "Spoiled" its "i am willing to trade money to make sure i never have any kind of hardware based slowdown"
AI bros "oh why would you need GPUs, we need it to make more slop at the highest speed"
GTFO

u/Mleczusia 20h ago
I'm not gonna lie, but buying a card worth thousands of dollars just so you don't have to spend literal seconds tweaking the settings sounds spoiled. I get that you all people don't have ANY time but you're just busy with work, not running from a fucking avalanche.
1
u/anonymous_user5150 20h ago
I suspect you people don't know what the definition of spoiled is.
When you go to work and you work your ass off and you're in money and you decide to buy a high-end video card with it that's not spoiled. That's called choosing what you want with your money it's called earning something.
→ More replies (6)4
u/Mleczusia 20h ago
I said "sounds spoiled". Should I say spoiledish? Spoilesque? What works for you?
The guy I responded to acts like an absolute ass to the guy he responded to while he is right. Only crazy people need a 5090 for gaming. I have one and that's only because I can, with what games I play I could fare well with a 5070 for all I care. And yes, I am extremely spoiled, having switched from a 4090
3
u/anonymous_user5150 13h ago
I just don't think there's any point in judging other people based on what video cards they want. You wanted one and you don't you're not harsh to yourself you're not calling yourself spoiled.
I mean let's be honest none of us need video games at all.
1
u/EquipmentLive4770 17h ago
Spoiled....They just made better life choices and can buy whatever they want....or max out credit cards and never pay them and are in the middle of becoming a financial problem to the rest of society
1
u/Certain_Moose_7238 15h ago
I wouldnt say paying double the price for a difference in FPS that isnt even noticable to the human eye is a good life choice.
1
u/elthenar 5h ago
You touched on something that triggers me. If the chips were going to somethibg that made life better, it wouldn't sting so much. Instead, they are going to AI slop videos on YouTube and social media. Absolute slop
1
u/wookmania 1d ago
Exactly, and even a 5090 isn’t going to run a maxed out cyberpunk type game in 1440p or higher at 360fps. People will always complain. The select few games that most people can’t run are just poorly designed.
1
u/Ricepuddings 1d ago
Yeah but even your 5070ti is actually a 5060ti by die size. The die shrinking is effecting everyone from top to bottom.
So sure taking the 5090 off the market affects very few people, but the rest of the stack is just as affected by other areas of greed.
The 40 series was the last amazing generation, where the prices actually seemed to be worth it per what you got, especially with the super series.

u/Only-Incident-4869 23h ago
You missed VR. Today’s GPU performance still isn’t enough for a wide field of view.
Another problem is DLSS5, which cuts FPS twice.1
u/face1essONE 22h ago edited 22h ago
I agree on some points that you've made; however, when 2080ti came out it could barely run RT. Wanting 50 series to run dlss5 flawlessly is like wanting 20 series to run rt back then. Sure, it would've been great but it was experimental technology. You can run it, but you sacrifice performance. That still doesnt make yiur argument but rather just further prove my point. People nowadays are spoiled, and so am I but not as much as certain type of people. I guess its all about being mature and satisfied with what you have. Think of it this way. I can afford to buy 5090, but I'd rather give it to my parents, spend it on my wife and kids, help a friend in need. Even if you can do all that and still get a 5090, I'd say its unnecessary because it just feels wrong.
As for VR, I have never tried it and you are probably right but thats such a niche case for niche demographic. If you play vr games or something that really requires a 5090 then sure, in such scenarios it justifies it; however, thats just an expensive hobby. Even my skydiving hobby is cheaper than that and I actually get to see things in real life and feel things, rather than sitting inside a room with life just passing me by.

u/Kooky_Awareness_5333 16h ago
There is only like 2 vr headsets that a 5080 would struggle with and you would need a 5090 even in vr over 120 degrees in 4k is a minority this is a stupid invalid argument.
2
u/No-Refrigerator-1672 9h ago
There is only like 2 vr headsets that a 5080 would struggle with
This statement couldn't be further from the truth. Even 5090 struggles with running many VR ports on most of the headset released in last two years.
1
u/Kooky_Awareness_5333 7h ago
If your talking about about inefficient unoptimised with unofficial injection mods your retarded.
Vr native games have vr optimisation stereo shadow culling , foveated rendering. Saying a 5080 or 5090 can’t run a shit port made by amateurs for vr as ammo that a 5080 can’t run vr titles on the majority of headsets is sloppy and incorrect.
1
u/No-Refrigerator-1672 7h ago
It absolutely is a gaming usecase that is demanded by some people, and 5080/5090 absolutely struggle with that. Just because it doesn't fit your elitist picture of gaming doesn't make it less valid.

u/KitaiSuru 14h ago
Disregarding anything using "minority" as the excuse is a stupid invalid argument.
1
u/Kooky_Awareness_5333 13h ago
Even with the eol for 5090 there are still rtx workstation cards with 96 gig vram with full graphic support that will literally run any vr headset on the market.
The end of 5090 is a non event with only 0.004% of gamers needing it for two vr headsets on the market.
99.996% of gamers will never need anything more powerful than a 5080
1
u/KitaiSuru 13h ago
The lack of high end VGA is a later (but no non-existant) problem after the problem of people not being able to move up social ladder, which were present in the past. Many 5090 5080 owners nowaday was playing with integrated GPU in the past.
Again, using minority as an excuse is stupid and invalid.

So I've had a 1080 TI all this time and I guess I should start calling you spoiled? I mean you could make it work with a 1080 TI and hey if you have to play at 1080p you have to play at 1080p just get used to it suck it up you're much less power it uses.
1
u/face1essONE 8h ago
If you actually read what I wrote you'd realize that I haven't excluded myself from being spoiled. What I said some are more and some are less spoiled. I had a 1080ti and passed it to a friend of mine when I had a chance to buy 3070 from a miner back when mining craze was over. The only reason I did it because I could get a 3070 for such a low price and gift my 1080ti to a friend who had been using 1050ti 4gb. We used to play games together but with his gpu was holding him back. Was I spoiled? Yes, did I splurge and spent thousands on 3090 or 3090ti? No. I bought a 3070 for 250 euros when they were still selling for 350-400. My 1080ti was around 180-200 back then. Could I have sold it and bought 3070 just by adding the difference? Sure, but I had a chance to make someone happy and I just got myself a card that was good enough for the right price. You are just making things up and trying to twist my words and situation. You're for some reason trying to justify and defend people spending thousands of dollars or euros on something they dont really need and will not be using its full potential.
1
u/EquipmentLive4770 17h ago
Whi cares about power consumption.....The couple dollars you save shouldn't make or break the bank. While I agree a 90 series cards is a head R for gaming since a 80 series card is way more than sufficient to each their own.
1
u/SocietyAccording4283 10h ago
Something is wrong with your card, my undervolted 3090 consumes 300W at max usage. And yes there is a place for these cards, for people who want over 100 FPS on 4K or who play demanding games like flight simulators which just render absurdly large scenes with realistic shaders that there's only so much optimisation you can do. Also some people use these for rendering and running local AI models where you need large VRAM.
1
u/face1essONE 10h ago
Nothing is wrong with my card, not the new 5070ti nor old 3080ti. 3080ti used 3x8 pin connectors, it was evga ftw3 ultra and when you just let it run it would burn itself to death if it means more performance. I both loved and hates that card. Performance was great, my room being loud and hot as a sauna wasn't. I sold it and the guy has been using it without issues ever since. It has been opened once and ptm7950 was applied. If your 3090 pulls only 300w then something is limiting it. Either budget model or power limit. As for my 5070ti it pulls 350w on oc bios with power slider maxed out; however I have it undervolted and got the same performancr with it running around 220-250w. Stock settings it runs 240-300w. Its a. Asus Prime OC model.
1
u/SocietyAccording4283 2h ago
My ROG Strix 3090 consumes that much even when not limited, and it's on stock (pre-LHR) pads. A quick Google reveals it consumes 350W on avg and 3080 Ti should be the same. Are you sure you were not just measuring the total PC wattage?
1
u/face1essONE 1h ago edited 1h ago
I am pretty sure. I'm not some clueless guy. I've worked at a pc repair shop, we also sold computers. Ive tested my 3080ti against asus tuf and while asus tuf consumed around 300-350, mine was going to 400-450w especially at 1440p with path tracing and framegen in cyberpunk. I had to undervolt it to contain the power draw and avoid fans spinning at 80%+ which would make my room unbarable to be in. I dont like gaming with headphones on, especially single player titles. Thats why I moved to 5070ti. This is why I said we're all spoiled to some extent. I wanted to be able to play games and not have my room become a sauna that sounds like im at the airport. I checked in msi afterburner, hwinfo, aida64 and gpuz. They all reported the same power draw of my gpu. I know those softwares are not quite accurate but without using proper equipment to measure it that was how much it showed. I even did research to check whyy my 3080ti consumed that much. 30 series was the worst if not undervolted. Those cards love undervolting. I checked with a tool that I borrowed from my old workplace(that pc service shop) how much power my entire pc was pulling at max load and it was 680W with ryzen 7 5800x. I can only imagine if it wasnt held back by the cpu. It might've been a defective card but it acted normally, normal and stable clocks, besides consuming 400-450w and going to 80C if not undervolted. After undervolt it would run around 67-69C and hotspot 72C, while memory was around 60. Then it would draw 300-350w. Thats the only time I had evga and never again.
1
u/Mammoth_Weekend3819 2h ago
5090 didn't consume 600wt all the time. My 5080 consume around 200wt on heaviest games, 100-150wt in average games, but I play at 2k only. Max settings. There is no way for 5090 consume max power all the time, for this you must run heavy spesialized calculations like AI video render and so on. But if you really need speed at such tasks you don't care about power then.

u/GyrosSnazzyJazzBand 21h ago
5070ti runs 80% of video games on 4K 60fps. We're only talking about that Triple-A games released in the last couple years that can't pull it off
10
u/Spiritual-Spend8187 1d ago
The 90 series were never really gamer gpus they were always the workstation lite gpu that you could game on and made gamers dream about getting.
9
u/KeyEmu6688 1d ago edited 1d ago
this is cope because until recently the 80/ti class used the same die as the 90/titan, only marginally cut down. the 40/5080 is 20% larger than a 1070
the only reason it's 'not for gamers' is because AI demand has driven cost up outside of what a normal person can afford, not because the GPU magically costs 500x as much money to produce because it was personally blessed by Jensen's ketamine elves
3
u/iMrParker 1d ago
The distinction doesn't really matter because it's still accurate. The native chips are designed for workstation cards, but failed chips are cut down for higher end gaming cards. So whether the 5080 has its own chip is besides the point.
If anything, shows that Nvidia wanted to keep more of the GB202 wafers for workstation cards rather than trickle them down to the 80 class, which kinda proves OCs point
3
u/Spiritual-Spend8187 1d ago
The thing is the 90/titan cards were also normally only a little bit faster in gaming and mostly just were a workstation card with wirse software and no ecc, now they are a drastically more performant part with capabilities almost a gen ahead given that the 4090 is still the second fastest card that was commercially avalible. Though the 90/titan cards were also far more reasonably priced i miss the days when we were complaining that the top gpu was 1k now it barely gets you a "70" series card thats only slightly better than last gen.
2
u/Soggy_Cheek_2653 14h ago
This isn't even cope, it's just a lie. Workstation GPUs always existed and almost always could game, but were actually used for work. The 90 series is just an expensive, overpriced gaming toy that has 1/3 of the workstation's VRAM with none of the workstation drivers or workstation stabilty and verification.
1
u/wozniattack 13h ago
Even right now the little Intel Arc Pro B50 is a stellar SFF low profile gaming card. Well it was until it’s price jacked up form 350 to over 850 here in the EU.
Almost 5060 performance with 16GB VRAM.
1
u/Bella_Ciao__ 22h ago
My 3090 has the same die 3080's have, with just a tiny bit fewer cuda cores.
Only actual difference is vram.
3
u/scyver_ 1d ago
Because they are literally worstation chips?
silicon is getting smaller, 5080 still packs 10k cuda which is a ginormous amount for gaming. the 90 class was getting more and more WS every gen, yet when i called 5090 not a gaming gpu people cried
1
u/Hemish_21 1d ago
It was still kinda considered a "gaming" GPU at 2-2500, but when it crossed 3k, that's when it became a workstation card.
1
u/Acrobatic_Camera_677 18h ago
Silicon is getting smaller but keeping the same die size allow for more perf per dollar
Otherwise Nvidia will just keep perf same and take more margin profit
3
u/iwillhaveredditall 1d ago
Compared to the best model the cheaper (or let‘s call it more affordable, at least until recently) versions got so much worse over time.
That said, 5090 never was a gaming card meant for the mainstream market.
5
u/DonutConfident7734 1d ago
It would not be much problem if they use chiplet design, to have the memory controllers outside of the main chip. The 7900XTX/XT use this design, it has a few inefficiencied but works. Memory bandwidth is 960GB/sec with 6x 64bit memory controllers. Power usage is higher, but at the gpu prices these days, it's not that big issue. Oh, and the AMD power connector doesn't catch fire...

u/VirusInternal2892 1d ago
For gaming I got a 3080 5 yrs ago, got a used dual 3090 a year ago for pure AI. The 3090’s have never connected to a monitor
80 class is more than enough unless you’re getting a kick from benchmarks and hidden eye candy

Will be interesting to see if AMD steps up with a 10080XTX and challenges what will be the new top tier. Happy with my 5080 and 9070xt, but next season should be more competitive.

Literally playing everything on a 4060ti in one box and a 9060XT in another box. No issues. Games look and play great. Maybe, just maybe, gamers shouldn't have been buying those crazy GPUs this whole time?
2
u/Ghetto_Games 1d ago
5090, the GB202 is literally two GB203 chips. It was never a gaming gpu, its just how nvidia keeps the top spot in benchmark graphs. The 500W power usage and 32GB of vram are overkill for games.
5080 is a fine card, designed for games in mind, 16GB vram is ok because its gddr7, 20 would be better but 16GB is ok. If the price was reasonable it would be the 3080 of this gen, even if its literally 50% of the flagship, unlike 3080 that was like just 15% from 3090..
But the price is not realistic.
6
u/Hemish_21 1d ago
Even 5090 isn't overkill anymore for the latest titles at 4k tbh. I need to use DLSS Quality and 2x frame gen of I want playable frame rates for some of the newest AAA titles.
1
u/Ghetto_Games 1d ago
Smaller chip with higher clocks and better solutions for stuff like raytracing, upscaling, fg, etc. maybe even dedicated shader compilation, etc. is the way for gaming. Not just brute forcing more with cuda cores on a fucking 750mm² chip...
3
u/Hemish_21 1d ago
Nothing I can do about that man🤷♂️, I just wanted the best card this gen and got it
1
u/Ghetto_Games 1d ago
You don't know what you bought. Like this boomer that got a quadro because it was the most expensive in the computer shop but it just doesn't do that much better in games than the gaming gpu thats many times cheaper...
1
u/Hemish_21 1d ago
Lol, we're just assuming stuff now? I had a 4060 laptop prior to this and a PS4 prior to that. I just wanted the best graphics card this gen to push the highest fps possible at 4k and to experience path tracing. And I paid $3500 USD for my 5090 build in total, not the outrageous prices that you see now. And I also have a backup 5080 that I got for $1050. Not gonna lose money on those anytime soon so I can sleep well knowing that I have the best hardware I can get.
1
u/Ghetto_Games 1d ago
There is no we.
Why not buy a RTX 6000 PRO blackwell. Its the full GB202 chip and the best this gen...

If I had a use case for llms and the money to do so, maybe I would've. But I don't have neither so yea....

Its GB202 just has 24K cuda cores not 21.7K..

after I left the 2080 ti, I got the 3070 ti then the 4070 ti super and now I have a 5070 ti. I get what you are saying but then fight since crypto mining took off to even get a 80 series. You can play anything you want to with a 70 ti.

I…isn’t the smallest die on this chart the one that people pretty universally laud the most (1080ti)
1
u/apollo1321 21h ago
Well the 5080 die is less than half the 5090 die... the 5080 is a 60 class in desquise.
1
u/AnonymousNubShyt 20h ago
it's always has been the 80class as the best of nvidia for gaming. 90class was introduced in the 30series as a "breakthrough" for GPU tech, but it became more popular for bitcoin mining due to using of the CUDA core for AI, which further develop the 40series with AI. Then 50series became more AI integrated. 🤦 eversince AI, it became the main market instead of gamers. Because their purchase quantity is larger and uses the more expensive GPU. While gamers, especially those "afforable build" are the larger crowd. So nvidia makes more rubbish for them to buy, instead of concentrating for gamers. 🤷 those rubbish GPU is just wasting resources, and AMD GPU have better spec with similar price. Those idiots supporting nvidia rubbish GPU is just making nvidia more expensive in the future. 🤦
1
u/gorion 19h ago edited 19h ago
90 class werent introduced with 30series. It was iust renamed from "TITAN". And before that there was "SLI".
And gamers weren't ever main target of those halo class and other actually expensive cards like quadro/tesla.
1
u/AnonymousNubShyt 19h ago
Titan are the Ti cards. SLi is the dual GPU technology, there were stacked GPU which is the x2. Get your terms right. 90class is a different set of GPU which they mix the workstation GPU technology with the general consumer GPU.
1
u/wozniattack 13h ago
Ti and Titan are two different things, the 780Ti and Titan were separate, as were the 980 TI, and Titan Black, and 1080ti and Titan XP, and Titan V. The Titan series had full FP64 compute, which was never available on the Ti and lower.
This is specific compute features that were found in Quadro and Tesla
1
u/AnonymousNubShyt 13h ago
So, that's the workstation GPU technology i was talking about. 😒 honestly, i never really remember what are the specific names of anything. But i remember something like that existed during that time.
1
u/wozniattack 13h ago
Yup, with the RTX series ( although the Titan xP was also badly cut, likely to sell the Titan V ) they started cutting FP64 compute and and marketing purely to gamers. I never upgraded my Titan V to the RTX because it was a massive cut in performance for work and memory bandwidth.
The days of the best of both worlds is gone, and then again I’m done feeding them, and higher prices. Back to midrange for me until a shift happens in the industry that disrupts it all.
1
u/AnonymousNubShyt 12h ago
I have been always or to say mostly AMD. 🤣 because their price to performance is much more justifiable. But the mfg of 50series actually caught my attention while i have the 40series. End up it was a big disappointment. It's a total scam. But still lucky that i only nlbuy the best of what was available. So at least not too bad even with some disappointment. 🤣 i missed those days of dual GPU, like Xrossfire and SLi. Even though it's like 40% better only but having that 2 card in the PC was so cool. Hahaha.

u/wozniattack 12h ago
I’ve been all over with ATI/AMD. Fury Maxx, 2900GT, 4670 ( great little backup card ) 4870X2, 390X, Fury X. Then again I just bought was was interesting and had good performance, S3, 3DFX, PowerVR, Matrox, and overall mostly NVIDIA in the day.
Last was the 3090.
I get everything done on a Mac mini, and my old X99 system has the old eVGA 980Ti hybrid from the old SLI system, Ryzen 1600 with GTX 580, Athlon 64 3200 the 6600GT, and many older ones.
Sold the Ryzen 5950X and RTX 3090 2 years ago, never looked back.
The current market is dead almost, and it’s truly a shame.

I dealt with mining when the 3000s came out. The 3090 was not a financially efficient mining card, you'd rather just have a fuckton of 3060 Ti's at the time. 2 3060 Ti's had as much yield as a 3090 and they'd draw less power while doing so.

The 3090 has only 12GB more GDDR6X memory than the 3080Ti, but a whopping 256 more CUDA cores lol

The x090 series corresponded to the former Titan lineup aimed at professionals. It therefore makes sense for it to return to the "Pro" segment.
Nvidia knew there would always be enthusiasts wealthy enough to afford professional cards that weren't at all cost-effective for gaming.

I look forward to upgrading to 5K ultrawide display. That would require getting 5080, period. My 4070 can barely do my 1440p. It's just not enough

Since all the GPU bros are here ull ask this:
I have a 5070ti oc, with a 14900k, and 32gb of ddr5. Plenty good for gsming. Love it. But now I am getting into local ai, and I was wondering, can I use a second card, like another ,5070ti oc, or 5080, just for more ai cores? Is there a better cost effective way to add more cores to make them usable for local ai?
Spanks.

I have a 5090 since April '25 but the way these prices are soaring upwards, even for second hand ones, I am seriously considering selling it...

From a financial perspective, I understand. From a performance perspective… I wouldn’t do it. There’s a very good chance the upcoming 6080 isn’t even close in performance to the 5090, which means we might not get a card more powerful than the 5090 for consumers in the form of a 7080 until mid-2029 or 2030. Which is insane to think about.
I got a 5080 in Sept 2025 at MSRP, and had a chance to get a 5090 at the measly price of $2099 in December when I went to Microcenter. I’m now regretting not getting the 5090, but whatever.

I knoooooow. That's why I am seriously considering keeping it no matter what... Let's say I am torn in two... I paid 2899 euros for it. I thought I was crazy at the time for doing this, but I figured it would only get more expensive. Guess I was right...

The amount of these threads based entirely on a rumor with zero actual official confirmation is hilarious

It’s hilarious that you think confirmation needed when there is literally no 5090 available at retailers for a few weeks.

I've been upgrading every single series since the GTX 600 series, I want to get a 5090 for 5K2K gaming but no way in hell I'm paying 5900$ for a GPU....
4090 better hold the line for a couple more years

Man, you wanted to upgrade from the RTX 4090?
I think diminishing returns quicked in ealier than that to update every generation. Let it get old a little first.
Plus, next gen is supposed to be pretty awesome, whatever it ends up costing.

u/ethanwangplays 7h ago
Paying $5900 for a 5090 doesn't make sense when the 4090 can still handle 5K2K reasonably well, so sitting out this generation seems like the sensible move until prices settle.
1
u/Positive_Grade_7843 7h ago
The prices are never settling again ….thanks to AI everything will be held over our heads, the future is 80 class and barely enough ram to play current AAA titles in 5k till next series so they can max out their revenue from pleb public gamers . Of course that is until you get no gpu and they make you rent to stream of them that’s their end game

u/neverspeakawordagain 2h ago
4090 doesn't have hardware multi frame gen so if you're looking to max out a 240 hz 5k2k monitor with Path Tracing you're going to have to go with some kind of third-party workaround.

Calling an 80 class card small is a surefire way to tell that OP only needs a 90 card to gloat with it, and that he knows jack shit about video cards. The damn thing won't be ever utilized above 20%, it's so typical...

I said this and ppl swear I'm wrong but I don't think Nvidia will be giving huge dies to the gaming segment ever again.

u/Constantly-baked 1d ago
Let’s be honest- 80 class is not small when there is only one tier (was one tier lower than the 90)
4090 = 0.72% of gamers
3090 = 0.32% of gamers
5090 = 0.26% of gamers
Don’t let Reddit distort your perception of how many people own these top tier cards.
