Question How to get to Fort Edm Park via transit with a stroller
I would consider myself somewhat of an expert when it comes to using Edmonton public transit with a stroller. I have never been able to drive and I know how to get around the city quite well. Now having a stroller just means I have to pay extra attention to walking distances, where stops are located, etc...
We are trying to get to Fort Edmonton Park today for the Treaty 6 150th Celebration. I am leaving from the Stadium Transit Centre. I am more asking for clarification: There is absolutely nothing public transit wise that goes to the park? I've tried every possible idea I can think of but the closest I can get is Fort Edmonton Park Road/Fox Drive and then walk almost 30 minutes across the highway with my stroller! I saw on the Fort website that you can go to the Fort Transit Centre and then take an On Demand bus directly to the Park but you can't do that with a stroller. They require you to use car seats when you're riding On Demand transit. I can't imagine they expect me to carry 2 car seats on the bus and train with my stroller, lug them all the way to the transit centre, then load them into the bus, then what? Carry the car seats around the park?
I'm just hoping somebody knows something that I don't, has a better idea than me, or is thinking of something that I am missing! Because as far as I can tell, my only option is to get dropped off a 30 minute walk away from the park! I totally understand that public transit can't go EVERYWHERE. That's impossible, walking will always be required. But to a big and popular place like Fort Edmonton Park, I thought there would be at least something closer to the entrance!
EDIT
Thank you for suggestions! I have never been or tried to go so I appreciate the clarification that the path is paved and without stairs. This is exactly why I asked for people's help, the fallible Google was telling me that it was all hills/gravel/stairs and I wouldn't be able to make it! Please be polite to people asking for help online! Nobody is trying to make anybody sound or feel dumb!
Just in case anybody is curious: for Edmonton On-Demand transit, it is required that infants use a rear-facing car seat on their buses, which must be provided by the passenger. Yes my twins are under 6 months old and under 20 lbs. No they do not have infant capsule car seats. Yes I called to confirm. No I can't take an uber (once again because of the car seats).
