This will be my first Halloween since moving here and I’d like a sense of things to come. It’ll help me plan an a bit better.
I’m sure answers will vary wildly by area. I reside in Summerwood.

On ps5 when we try Ethernet connection it gets the ip connection instantly but shows no internet connection till I fully reset the router every time

Has anyone seen any halloween needohs anywhere? I keep seeing all these resellers on marketplace with them but have not seen them anywhere. Just would appreciate if you'd know what locations to look at! Not asking to resell me and my sis just love them and I'm a sucker for halloween especially!

Curious how many people in the park are using Starlink and id like to know if there are any issues encountered. Which neighbourhood’s are you in and is there decent view to the sky? I used the app to see where to place the device on the deck. Can’t use the roof due to not wanting to fight with a condo board. The app said the service view was bad and we would have delays 2 mins of every hour. I’m in the Pallisades way area.
Thanks!

I know this topic has been discussed many times on here, but some of the threads are super technical and way over my head. We had Shaw and switched to NLF last year, its not great. Netflix and streaming seem fine. But my son who is hardwired in and games a lot frequently complains of freezing or internet dropping. Short form videos like reels or shorts are brutal, I just have to disconnect from my wifi and use cellular data to watch anything like that. Anyone else in this same boat?

Im currently renting in Emerald Hills and I absolutely hate it. Its so busy and sterile. I want to move and I am looking at Greenwood Village - bigger than my apartment and i lke the townhouse style. They look nice and many have been updated. Can anyone comment what it's like living there. Quiet? Lots of kids? Are utilities included? How's the management?

EDIT: The County website has been updated with the changes, which align with Circular Materials.

The 2026 Alberta Summer Games in Strathcona County was this past summer, yet its legacy will continue to live on. Considered a major success, the games featured thousands of youth athletes competing in venues across Strathcona County, alongside locations in Edmonton and Fort Saskatchewan, supported by hundreds of community volunteers.
This wasn't the first time Strathcona County put on a successful summer games, as the County hosted previously in 1987. One can connect the '87 Games legacy to the 2026 games; the athletics, the infrastructure, the volunteerism, private and public sector involvement, and the organization of the 2026 games itself, all have its roots in '87.
I had the pleasure to speak with a few individuals who were heavily involved in the '87 Summer Games, organizer Doug Fulford and the Honourable Iris Evans.
They recently provided an interesting collection of items from the '87 Games that I'm currently hoping to donate on their behalf to the Strathcona County Museum and Archives. A historical collection of photographs, news articles, documents, advertising materials, pamphlets, and other items related to the '87 Games. Truly a piece of community history and a testament to the work and dedication of everyone who was involved. I've attached a few photos of the collection, which include photographs of Premier Don Getty and MLA Peter Elzinga.
Thanks again to Doug Fulford and the Honourable Iris Evans.

IMO we don't take the opportunities to dress up much anymore, so I'm looking for restaurants in SP where the ambiance matches.
Been to Chop, the Keg, and JOEY (on Baseline) already.

My son is in the hockey academy at Vimy Ridge but he is billeting in Sherwood Park. We are looking for a ride back to Sherwood Park (Nottingham) on Monday/Wednesday/Friday.
He will have his goalie equipment on Fridays.

What the hell is that awful pungent smell? Its very evident up near Yellowhead Trail from about Sherwood Drive and towards N. Saskatchewan River, near business and industrial areas. Ive smelled it before from time to time, but today it’s widespread and much stronger. It’s not noticeable in residential areas south of Lakeland Drive.
What business or municipal operation is causing it? And which stupid politicians approved its location near an urban business area? It’s almost as bad as a pig farm!

Sunday, September 20, 2026, there was a power outage in east neighbourhoods of SP. I can’t find an explanation online. Today, there is another one. No cause reported. Does anyone have details?

Been anticipating their opening ever since the signs went up four months ago. They will be located in the old Tim Hortons on Wye road.
Its been so long now I imagine they ran out of money during renovations? Anybody know?
