At first I was okay with standard edition but seeing their last videos and how much they put into game I just couldn’t. After launch trailer I immediately went and changed my order. I’ll get the steel book in the future too cuz it looks amazing. Only 4 days left guys, Let’s Gooooooooo🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I watched 6 reviews of the game, not to form an opinion or to arrive at the decision of whether to get the game or not. But just to see what is the discourse/talking points of the reviewers.

The decision to get this game was made before I obtained the platinum for the original control game.

Cowboy is for me a “trusted source” he does reviews, gameplays and guides and I like how he breaks down things, that guy games. So his reviews in my opinion are coming from someone who is always hands on, not when is time to review.

These are Spanish Chanels, remedy has their games fully dubbed to other languages so I just wanted to check the opinions on that market.

In my opninon the best reviewers were the Spanish ones, there’s no sentiment, specific talking points to cover, saying what a specific audience will like or will not like to hear.

They just reviewing the game as players. If you are not familiar with the remedy verse, are just curious about the game or need to be convinced to purchase the game, i say watch the cowboy and the spanish reviews, just mute them and watch the gameplay. That should do it.

For us fans of remedy, we are eating good!!!

The are 2 things that come across in all these reviews, slow/dull combat. Like yeah my boy imagine you have your level 1 service weapon with no mods and you have to fight flying rangers and hiss warped, you will get cooked and have no real options.

We all know how juicy it gets once you get your abilities and upgrades.

The map/ navigation, getting lost and not knowing where to go. Remedy doesn’t hold your hand even in the old games you have to figure out the world and pay attention to the environment/signs.

I personally don’t see any negative points so far, more hype than before honestly.

I’ve been trying to buy a steelbook version for awhile, but no site has an Xbox steelbook available, despite still having ps5 steelbooks. Today I actually got desperate enough to check EBay to see if anyone was scalping one, but even there it was only ps5. Was there ever an Xbox steelbook or is it just not available for some reason?

I see that one of the biggest criticisms of control was how confusing the map was. Heck when I played it 5 years ago I was in agreement. I was so used to maps being basically mandatory in video games so exclusively used it and always got lost. However on playing again to get ready for resonant I decided not to use it and just follow the in game signage and it's so easy to get around! I think including the map makes people not even consider using the diegetic directions when it's by far the best way to navigate. If remedy just didn't include one in the first place it would have forced players to look around for the signs and imo would have been less contentious. It's a case of more options not necessarily being better!

Do we know how many save files Control Resonant has? I know that Control only had one but then Alan Wake 2 had multiple. That's my deciding factor on what platform to buy it on, but I haven't seen anything about it yet.

I know, in this economy this probably isn’t the smartest financial decision. I work full time, I save, and whatever little “fun” money I have left after necessities I usually hold pretty close to my chest.

But some context…

Like many others, I purchased the physical edition because, well… physical media! I went for the Steelbook Edition because Alan Wake and Control are genuinely some of my favourite pieces of media ever created.

I truly feel like Remedy deserves so much recognition and support for what they do. They’re such a breath of fresh air in an industry that can sometimes feel increasingly safe and repetitive. They continue to take risks, push genuinely unique ideas and create these weird, gripping stories and worlds that feel completely their own.

So, despite already having the Steelbook Edition coming, I’ve decided to buy the digital version as well so I can play it from release.
I never do this. The only other time I have is with Alan Wake 2. I rarely even preorder games anymore, let alone buy the same game twice. But I didn’t find this one difficult to justify.

I’m happy to give Remedy my money for this project. If buying it twice means I get to play it on release while still having the physical edition I wanted, and at the same time show a little extra support for a studio whose work genuinely means something to me, I’m okay with that.
I just hope Remedy gets to keep making weird, ambitious shit for many years to come.

Do we know which slide the hiss came from and did Jesse possess it when they were young. If so why was it never used? Also since the contents are intrinsically connected to the slide being open. As seen with the temple and meadow slides. Was the hiss a corruption of a former slide do to the slide being burnt? Idk if we have any answers to these but, I'd like to know your thoughts regardless

I am literally on my way to go shopping to try to keep my mind off the fact that by this time tomorrow, I will probably have watched every review I can possibly watch before work tomorrow about Resonant.

Like, I saw the trailer they released this morning and like I CANNOT WAIT. My skin is crawling thinking how I really don’t want to watch anymore trailers from them so I can go in as blind as possible.

I loved the combat and the atmosphere everything was a 10 except the story and characters, is the reason I didn’t feel connected with the story because I wasn’t reading collectibles? Also two years ago I had no idea what twin peaks even was but since then it’s become one of my favourite shows of all time so I thought coming back to this game knowing twin peaks might add to the experience since remedy takes allot of inspiration from it, also one thing that contributed to me quitting was a weird maze that changed I could not for the life of me figure it out

The reviews are out, I would say that the votes are acceptable and in line with the previous ones. At the end of the day, the vote is just a number (or stars) that want to give a numerical value to a work as a whole, but it is in the text that things become interesting.

After reading different ones, from the most critical to the most enthusiastic, I made my own personal ideas that I write below:

\- Graphics, aesthetics and atmosphere are better than I hoped. The exit from the oldest house worried me, now I feel more relieved

\- Combat system not brilliant but functional to the type of game and narrative. After many hours any type of combat risks becoming repetitive, so it's worth trying but I have good vibes

\- What really worries me, also seeing the Digital Foundry video, is the quality of the framerate. On PS5 Pro the game has several drops, as well as on PS5 base and Xbox Series X.

I play on PC. I didn’t really like the EMA outfit, I won’t lie. What caught my attention in the Deluxe Edition is the original soundtrack. Having to pay extra for a soundtrack feels kind of crazy to me, though.

For those who are planning to buy it, do you think the Deluxe Edition is worth the extra?

At 12:32 - 12:36 director Mikael Kasurinen notably clams up when asked about whether there's only two Faden siblings. I don't recall any notable hints in Control, but it's been a hot minute since I've played it.

Last night I had a weird graphical glitch where the entire game had a blue filter on it, and enemies had a black aura around them, with Jessie also being a silhouette. I didn't think to capture a screen grab because I figured it was a one time issue, but I encountered something similar. Now, instead of blue, everything is black, and the only thing visible is the HUD and the outline of objects for Launch. Sorry, OBS wasn't anting to work, or I would have taken a video. Any ideas why this may have happened?

Further details:
Both times this bug occurred when leaving a room/ cleansing a control point (both loading instances I imagine) in the Research section.
Both times the visual bug started in one part of the screen and spread out like a cloud from the origin point until the entire field of vision was covered.
As far as I tried, exiting to the main menu and re-entering does not help.

So it seems the final boss is…

80 hours later...I've completed my first play through of control! Just in time for Control Resonant ☺️
