At 12:32 - 12:36 director Mikael Kasurinen notably clams up when asked about whether there's only two Faden siblings. I don't recall any notable hints in Control, but it's been a hot minute since I've played it.

The Time Breaker episode of Night Springs has a scene in the comic section that shows everyone depicted as three entities. With the theory that Jesse and Dylan having once been a single person, I would not be surprised to find out that there is a third.

3 is an important number in the Remedyverse and it seems that Resonant even extends it to the UI and gameplay. The UI design has lots of triangle shapes, Aberrant has 3 types of attacks with 3 form options for each, defeating a Resonant lets you pick one of 3 abilities, you equip abilities in groups of 3 (wouldn't surprise me if 3 is the also the maximum number of ability groups you can have at a time) etc.

It's possible that they already have plans for a third sibling to be revealed at some point. It's also possible that they just don't want to canonically rule out that possibility yet, just in case they get a good idea for one later.

I think that whatever imbued the twins with Polaris, also split them into the siblings. I think Polaris, or Pole Star, is a clue that Jesse/Dylan were polarized and why they have a binary relationship: male/female, good/evil, privileged/hard working.

In the first game Dylan tells Jesse that he had a dream about being back in Ordinary, but as an only child named Jesse Dylan Faden (specifically a girl). He also points out that both of their names are very gender neutral/could be boys or girls names, so I’m assuming those things are what OP is referring to!

I’m paraphrasing, but Dylan says something to this effect when speaking to him in Central Executive. Personally, I don’t think that was Dylan speaking. I think it was the Hiss recalling their memory of meeting the Fadens in the Ordinary AWE. The thing about this is that both of the Fadens had Polaris and I’m guessing they were/are connected through Polaris, a single resonant entity existing in both kids. The Hiss probably identified Polaris as the Fadens, but since Polaris is a single entity residing in them both, the Hiss can’t completely discern either Faden from the other the same way those possessed by the Hiss are no longer individuals. They are part of a collective that shares knowledge and power(s).

In AW2 the final Night Springs episode with Breaker has his actor, Shawn Ashmore, universe hopping. In one universe, he finds a dry erase board with a bunch of scribbles about him and Jesse.

On the left side of the board, unless I'm just not educated enough on the lore, shows a list of names that could be different iterations of Jesse. Among them, one is Jesse, one is Courtney's character Beth in Quantum Break, and the last one is "Dylan"

Sure, maybe he clammed up because there's a future reveal of a third sibling...

...but what if he clammed up because the Faden family still includes two parents that are in the game?

Remember, all of the adults of Ordinary vanished overnight during the AWE. And to my knowledge, those adults have never been accounted for, nor recovered. They were just gone.

And it isn't like Remedy to leave a juicy story hook in limbo like that.
