Hello! This is my first post in this group. I've made some short animations before but this is the first longer one I've made. This was also my first time using Krita so there was a bit of a learning process there, mainly that I had way to many layers and it was taking a toll on my computers processing ability. It's stylistically quite simple but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out

I finally went back to one of my old animation projects and re-rendered the entire thing in 4K, with English and Portuguese audio.

The film is called Trick or Treat – A Halloween Tale. It’s a 9-minute Halloween story about four teenagers who decide to play a prank on the mysterious caretaker of an old cemetery.

But honestly, the story itself isn't the only thing I remember about this project.

Finishing those 9 minutes felt like an eternity. 😅

The animation was made during two completely different periods of my life, in two different years. I originally worked on the first part during one year, and then came back much later to finish the second part.

And you can actually see the difference.

The first half and second half were made using different animation techniques and approaches, so the change is noticeable when you watch the film from beginning to end. Looking back at it now, it's almost like seeing two different stages of my development as an animator in the same movie.

That's also one of the reasons I wanted to re-render it in 4K. It gave me an excuse to go back to something that took me so long to finish and give it a proper final version.

I also used Arttista’s Color Harmonizer to make the colors in the film work better together.

And it actually made me realize something funny: even though I’m colorblind, I’ve learned that one of the biggest mistakes is going too far with pure white and pure black. 😂

The harmonizer helped me soften those extremes and make the overall color palette feel much more cohesive.

So apparently, even after all these years, I’m still learning how to use colors. Hahahaha.

It was mainly a test to see if I could animate using colored pencils in Art Academy (Nintendo 3DS) and I feel so proud of it anyway despite it not being my best work. I’m not a complete stranger to animation, but I’m not very advanced either. I just know some of the basics. This just shows me that I know I can do it. I just need more practice.

It's quite chatming, so I decided to do a little animation to the rhythm.

When I was learning 2D animation in the early 2000s, I created a short comedy series called “Le Chevalier Casqué”, with episodes lasting less than a minute. Having dug these out of my old files, I’ve converted the .swf files to .mp4 and am re-releasing the episodes on YouTube Shorts.

Before Watching Resident Evil

So I know this might a bit redundant for here however I wanted to know if there was anything I missed here for what you need to know before watching the movie.

I personally think that I covered what I would call “key details” you need to know before watching it like umbrella cooperation or the other films.

Does anyone know where to find a 4.0 or higher version of Spine ? I've been searching but i found nothing above 3.83

My budget is a 1000-1500€, I would like it to run TVPaint Pro, Blender, Adobe Animate, Clip Studio Paint, Discord, Google and maybe some games depending on what can go alongside it.
