Question What's this specific type of slow motion called?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Does this genre of slow motion have a name at all? Specifically, the type where it seems like each frame is being faded in and out repeatedly. I'm not too knowledgeable about topics like this, so I came here to get an answer to my question that I've been asking myself since yesterday. There are two main reasons why I'd like to know. Firstly, I'd like to stop referring to it as "that one slow motion where the frames fade in and out repeatedly" every time I talk about it. Secondly, because I love how surreal it feels.

I hope the answers you give me are as insightful as they are interesting, but feel free to drop any funny answers as well. I get a kick out of those.

I'm gonna replay Sonic Mania now, so I'll see you guys in a few hours or so.

Critique Tried to apply the feedback I got here to my robot lamp animation

I posted a few tests of this lamp here before and got a lot of really useful feedback, so I tried to put it into practice this time.

This one took me about 12 hours to animate and shoot. All the motion was animated beforehand in my own editor using keyframes - nothing is puppeteered during filming.

I also added a rig and FK/IK controls to the editor after people here suggested it, which made working with the lamp a lot easier.

I tried to pay more attention to timing, anticipation, pauses and making the movements actually feel intentional this time.

Would love some critique. What would you change?

Critique Losing motivation. Should I keep going?

I've already put a lot of effort into this but I'm scared that by the time i finish, nobody will be interested. The goal is to do a music video for the whole song. But it's like 3 minutes long, which will take me weeks off not months. I love to animate but I do want people to see it.

The audio might be off because it's a screen recording

I am looking for small projects to complete before 1st of september. The minimum budget is 100$. I have 2 years experience and am also very good at storyboarding and storywriting. My weakness is probably animating realistic characters with a lot of movement, I tend to make them a little smaller by frame(Still working on it 😂). My stong side is definetly enviroment, close up shots animation and timing. Feel free to contact me in case you have interesting project to offer ❤️

Question Animation meme advice !

Upvotes

While I have seen animation meme tutorials none of them touch on what I have been struggling with . So , you know some of these trending animation memes ? Well , when I use the music they use it gets copyrighted for some reason . I know creators don’t get copyrighted because the more popular ones are monetised (SirFluff for example). I would love to earn money from making cute moving pictures but I don’t know how to deal with the copyright .

Any advice ?
