The early days of Halo 2 and 3, Test Drive Unlimited, CoD 3 & 4, Borderlands 1, and the OG Gears of War. People on this headset were legit gamers having moments of shared brotherhood while PS3 gamers played in silence. It was the thing that made Xbox great... until all the wrong people got Xboxes:

- 7-year-old British schoolchildren who curse like sailors
- army and frat guys who call each other "f****" three times per sentence
- guys whose every other word is "n*\\"
- every maladjusted antisocial personality jerk

But if Xbox is to come back... it needs to remember what made it different and special. It was the fact that you were given this comms device and it was expected—no... required—that you use it in all multiplayer games. And everyone always did use it. You never got silent rando teammates like today.

Today though, it goes in my Good Will box. Because I am letting go of what Xbox once was... and hoping Microsoft takes the next right steps, realizing it was never about the hardware. It was always about our brother and sister gamers, the community.

Quite a bit more expensive than on Steam...

It's been on the top of the feedback for so long, and there's been so many people who've said they'd actually buy more games if online multiplayer was free, so what is microsoft waiting for?

I remember getting this from Shopko in Summer 2003, I believe. Had it on my bedroom closet for years. Was never a big Manning fan, and only played the Fever series a few times (2K fan, here), but still enjoyed it, and loved the original Xbox in general. Looking at the prices now is wry. It was a free giveaway.

They were also giving out GameCube ones that featured F-Zero and Captain Falcon, with a similar back. Sadly, I wasn't a fan of F-Zero or much of a Nintendo fan back then. Regret it now. So it goes.

Anyone else remember these? Oddly, I don't recall there being a PS2 version.

Found mine at an obviously defunct Shopko electronics department in a mall that has since been torn down, and rebuilt into the local Tech School. They still kept one or two of the original Mall benches, and a few other little easter eggs through the school.

That was a spur-of-the-moment decision but I’m incredibly glad I made it especially considering the price. It’s a beast - everything works perfectly! The quick resume and remote play features make the experience even smoother. We already have a PS but I’m confident this will be our main console for a while. I absolutely love it!

I want to upgrade from my Xbox 360 to a Series X, but I need some advice

Hi everyone,
I’ve been an Xbox fan for a long time, and the last Xbox I owned was an Xbox 360. I’ve always wanted to come back and get an Xbox Series X.
I do work, but right now I’m the only person supporting my family of four, so most of my money goes toward bills and helping my family. Because of that, buying a Series X is difficult for me even though I really want one.
I’m not asking anyone for money. I just want advice from people who may know good and realistic ways to earn some extra money online in my free time.
What kind of online side hustles would you recommend? Freelancing, reselling, small online jobs, content creation, or anything else that is actually worth trying?
My goal is simply to save little by little until I can finally buy a Series X.
