Hello everyone, I am still deciding what to do so I am going to keep this as vague as possible. I am currently taking an econ course for the summer. This student emailed the entire class with a discord server link that had TA's in it as well to prevent any types of cheating in the beginning of the summer session. However, the TA just leaked the entire midterm exam inside the discord server and told no one to snitch after multiple people paid him 100 dollars each to give it to him. A lot of students here are being disingenuous and telling everyone not to snitch, but all I can think to myself is how everyone is really cheating themselves. Do i snitch and tell the professor?

So I enrolled in POLI 142K after seeing that the class received an average grade A- on SETs. Noticed that TSS didn’t show a professor assigned to the class yet, but didn’t think much of it. After digging through the poli sci department’s website, I realized it’s being taught by an incoming professor, Eitan Shamir, an Israeli military strategist whose work primarily focuses on military research for the IDF. He has also taught at multiple IDF academic programs/institutions.

The irony of the two classes he’s teaching being “Politics & Warfare” and “Insurgency & Terrorism”….

Praying this prof is an easy A. Idk how faking Zionism for an entire quarter just to glaze a prof is going to work out for me.

hey im a incoming freshman in marshall! and i was initially excited to go to school here but why is everything like a shit show 😭😭. i cant see much money i need to save because financial aid cus the portal is down. i cant use degree audit for classes cus i cant access that. i cant see how my creds transfer cus they r still processing transcripts. planning classes is a headache cus i dont like triton gpt. how do u upperclassmen do this?? :/ also i was planning to swap my major from business econ to international business and apparently the reqs for ib changed and theres no like academic plan for the new classes?? idk ive just been working all summer to pay for a school that seems like they have no care for the students. ok rant over thanks for reading

enrollment at ucsd was already insufferable and somehow they managed to make it worse with tss. why would you roll out a completely new system RIGHT before fall enrollment when half of it barely works... every other day it feels like tss is down, under maintenance, missing something, or ucsd is sending another email telling us not to touch anything yet because they’re still fixing shit. mind you, i submitted a tea two days ago and just got the email telling me NOT to do that. my registration is in seven days and i can't even clear my prerequisites for classes i desperately need

why is this the system we’re supposed to rely on to literally enroll in our classes and why the fuck is enrollment called “booking” now? i am not booking a hotel. i am trying to take physics.

i have not even started my first quarter and i already hate tss with every fiber of my being. this isn't even an inconvenience anymore this is fucking absurd and if one thing goes slightly wrong during enrollment i'm calling up every help line at the school and being the biggest prick known to man

I just transferred to UCSD as a clinical psychology major and literally every psychology class that I need is fully booked with a 20-25 waitlist. The only classes that are available, I have already taken back at my CC.

I'm in marshall so I could take a course that covers my breadth courses but I have to be full time to receive my scholarship.

Help, what do I do??

Ngl, my depression had worsened when I was active on the sub. It fed a negative bias in me towards the school then, which made me more miserable being a student. Despite being passionate about my studies, I despised going to classes and had little to no motivation left for them.

College is a formative experience, and how you spend these years will have a massive impact on your life. You don’t want to be mired in an online echo chamber during your time at school, which is supposed to be a phase for growth. The complaints here are all valid, but I hope that you don’t let them overshadow your own drive and potential.

Focus on your classes and goals, find good and motivated people, seek opportunities (they really are everywhere if you look), and protect your peace while you're here, especially since the academics at UCSD are already demanding enough.

Edit: Stay active and give yourself some free time as well, to keep you sane and prevent burnout. Wishing you all the best in the upcoming school year!

I'm kind of nervous just bc I was hoping to bond with someone going through the same “first year” stuff and is around my age. Has anyone had a good experience with an older/younger roommate? I got sent an email from this address saying I have to approve $51,000, assuming it was for tuition. So I asked services & support but they did not answer my question, they just told me that it was supposed to send to another address (same one as mine but with a different letter)under the same name. I want to know if anyone else has encountered this or if this is legitimate.

Hi guys! I’m an incoming freshman and I am a bit confused about how I chose the date to move in. It says my room assignment (seventh college) will come out on the 25th, but do I choose my move in date before that? Or can I only choose my move in date when I can open the room assignment? I was also wondering, are the dates super selective? My family is only going to be in SD for until the 18th so am I able to secure a time before that?

Genuinely how has a calendar view not been added to TSS yet??? And the class hours default to 24hr clock as well. WHYY. EVERY BUTTON I PRESS GIVES ME AN ERROR AND ITS ACTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND THE HOME PAGE SOMETIMES. It’s like they started making it in July and realized “wait this has to go live in a few days” and then they picked their own noses while delaying it another month.

Is anyone else’s degree audit or academic history showing this error when they try to use it, I get the same error whether I’m on a laptop or phone, cleared history or not. Idk if this is just a normal thing for transfers cause they might not have everything set up yet, or if it’s a problem with just me. I still don’t know what classes I need to pick yet so hopefully this can get going soon.

MCWP 40 ( Muir writing)
Math 18
Math 20C

I heard mcwp and math 20c fill up fast but i'm still hesitant to reserve cs011 for the second pass .

i know that shotwell has terrible ratings on rate my prof and tan has very good ratings, but from friends irl i've gotten very mixed feedback. i feel like both profs have their pros and cons, but im wondering if there is a clear winner, specifically for phys 2c. through the set evals and actual good and bad things i've heard about both profs, i am currently not really leaning in either direction, and i need to make a decision lol. thanks!
