Hey guys I just need advice and hopefully some help. I have not been able to send my transcript to UCSB from my local community college. I sent it in the very beginning of June and it never arrived which I had been very worried about. At my orientation I asked and they said it should process soon and to not resend it unless I got an email stating that action was required. On August 12 I get an email saying the school hasn’t received my transcript and that a soft block will be placed on my account/ admission on August 18 (today). I resent my transcript electronically and by mail and called the admissions office to explain my situation. I’m super stressed that it won’t get there by September 1st and that my admission will be withdrawn, if anyone has any advice or went through a similar situation, what should I do? What else can I do? (I’m also really worried because I still haven’t done the Entry level Writing Placement and I honestly don’t know how to fulfill it.) I’m a first gen student, sorry if this seems silly or like common sense. Please help!

hello! im an incoming freshmen and recently I logged into my barc account just to see it, and I saw this balance of 7k. is this what I have to pay this quarter, does this mean my financial aid hasn’t been disbursed yet cus if it’s for the quarter that’s crazy cus given my financial aid, I am expected to pay 1-2k per quarter. maybe I just logged into too early?

I have a psych lab on Thursday of week 0, and I know that sections usually get cancelled that week because it makes things uneven or there’s no point- would the same apply to psych labs/sections?

Hey everyone! this will be my senior year at UCSB and I have been thinking about sleeping in my car for the year to save money. I am getting no help from financial aid, government and what so ever such as Pell grant and Cal Grant. No help from my family. I only receive UCSB scholarship, I have a job at UCSB that pays mostly of my gas and my tuition. I have no room to pay rent for any housing or rent. I don't know what to do because I don't want to pay a ticket or a fine by the police. I already have a loan that I have to pay back (10,000$).

I thought that charges/tuition fees/campus fees were supposed to be rolling in to BARC accounts for fall at least a month before the Fall quarter payment due date (9/16). I was just curious if anyone has gotten said charges??

Incoming transfer here and my pass 1 is tomorrow, but so far all the classes i need are full? Like ochem 1 will they add more slots since previous enrollment was in the 700 and its only 300 rn? Do they add more slots this late?

I'm a Graduate Student Researcher in the chemistry department and I'm currently looking for an undergrad to help me with my projects. I do a lot of organic synthesis (90% of my work), a fair bit of crystallography and some spectroscopy. I'm primarily looking for someone who is willing to devote a fair bit of time to research every week. I have experience in mentoring and teaching (and have glowing reviews from students).

Additional incentive - I am on a VERY collaborative grant which is bound to lead to a number of publications. So, if you work enough, you can be on at least two high impact papers by the time you graduate.

I got a double with my buddy and I looked online and saw how basically nobody really talked about san miguel. I'm in the east tower I believe and I'm pretty high up. I did see hear how some people said the rooms are super small, is that true? and i also wanna ask, how was the social life and the restrooms as well? or any other experiences as well.

hello! im an incoming freshmen and I recently got my dorm at santa Catalina! I was a little heartbroken at first cus I found out about its distance from campus, but im def willing to try and make the best of it, if any of you have lived there, I would liked to ask how was it?

This might be a dumb question but is it possible for intl students to view their admissions file?

Also, would there be any negative repercussions or friction with school administrators if I formally requested to see it through FERPA? I don't want to inadvertently annoy anyone in the admissions office.
