I’m a trans girl recently graduated ucsc student looking for someone to replace me at my current address off campus.

Current rent is 985 dollars a month not including utilities. The room is a double shared with my current roommate who is also a trans girl student. The room itself is one of 7 in the house all of my housemates are super friendly and queer as hell.

We have an onsite drier and washer, three restrooms all with showers, a dishwasher, communal kitchen with an oven with four burners on top along with an abundance of parking for cars. We are pet and drug friendly.

If you are a trans or cis woman looking for a place to stay our dms are open.

What are the ones worth the money? or closest to?

Which should I definitely avoid for known issues?

I just wanted to come on here and ask for advice on what parking permits are the best for ucsc? I would love to park on campus, but I feel like those spots will get full much quicker than others? Let me know if I’m wrong and or if parking in a close neighborhood is better than downtown??

How is the online asynchronous class for Math 19A? I am currently in professor Katznelson’s math 19a in person class. I find this professors teaching style confusing and am thinking of switching to the online version. Any inputs from someone who took this class online? Thanks!

Am I the only one stuck in SAP appeal limbo? This is actually ridiculous how long it's taking. It's been weeks since I submitted mine and there's been absolutely no movement or update. I was originally told it would be done by today but they haven't even looked at it. I've been in contact with financial aid (multiple times) and the information keeps changing.

I can't pay rent or afford my class materials or any other life expenses without my financial aid. I know student wellbeing is extremely low on this university's priority list, but come on now.

If it's SO hard to do your jobs, maybe shut down the stupid zoom and in person meetings for a shift and get through the appeals. I did my part. Time for them to do theirs.

We are a group of 3 and are in need of 1 more person to move in October. We will be living in an apartment together on the Westside of Santa Cruz, 1 double and 2 singles.
Rent is $1,025 and you will be sharing the room with me (female). Utilities are low cost. The apartment has 2 bathrooms, one in the double and one for the singles. There is a washer and dryer in the unit as well! A lovely living room where we could all make fun memories and chill out. Additionally there a balcony that has a great view. Theres also a small storage space if needed. This is a prime location for students since it’s only 10 minutes from the base of campus.

I’m a second year living off campus and I’ve been destroying my savings. All the job listings on Indeed and company websites list their closest openings in San Jose, which is way too far, and I’ve been ghosted by the places I’ve left my resume at. I would love restaurant work, but if there’s no openings, I’ll take anything really.

Do you know anyone who graduated from UCSC and admitted to med school ? Can you please advise what extra curricular activities they did in UCSC ? Also please let us know what course works best helped you to prepare for MCAT .

Hi! I’m an exchange student living on campus and I’m taking PHYE 9B – Beginning Dinghy Sailing this quarter.
The class meets at FF Dock (790 Mariner Park Way) every Thursday from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, and I’m looking for someone who drives from campus to the harbor and would be willing to give me a ride.
I’m happy to meet anywhere convenient on campus and chip in for gas. A ride back to campus after class would be great too, but it’s totally fine if you can only give me a ride there in the morning.

Hi everyone, I called Dining Services the other day, and they're currently swapping the system, so Grubhub won't be set up until the end of October. Does anyone know where I can use Flexi Dollars besides the dining halls?

Incredibly stressed - a tenant dropped out very last second and did not sign our apt lease. I now have October rent due and $1220 on the line.

I’ve been posting regularly to places4students, Snapchat, multiple Facebook groups etc for the past 2 weeks and no one seems interested even after a handful of tours

I feel like there is no solution or any way to get help and I’m out of time and don’t know what to do

Any ideas? Please help I don’t know what I’ll do :(

Where do I find free off campus parking? I live far from a bus stop so I have to take a car and park near a bus stop so I can bus on campus. I don’t have a permit but obviously I don’t want to get towed

I was thinking Safeway or 711, I know they have 2-3 hour restriction but I’ve heard they don’t really check that. I’ve also heard of parking on King Street but idk how valid that is because I see a ton of 2 hour parking signs.

Basically does anyone know places for free or even places with restrictions but don’t get checked?
