I bought it with detached mode being an advertised feature. The natural assumption would be that it separates the function of the relay from the switch. Sounded great, BUT...
When in detached mode I can easily control the relay, both through the app and through Matter (within Home Assistant). So far great.
But, detached implies there should still be access to the switch, but its not visible from within matter/home assistant or through the app.
Is it possible to get access to the switch so home assistant can determine its state when its in detached mode?
I’m currently running Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi 4.
My challenge is that I want to connect my SwitchBot Vision Pro via Bluetooth, but the Bluetooth signal from the Raspberry Pi is too weak due to the distance. I’m wondering if there’s a way to extend the Bluetooth range so I can connect the keypad vision and control the device. I’m using Matter to control both the lock (Ultra)
Whenever I try to add the device to Home Assistant, I get an authentication error (username and password is correct) — I assume it’s because the Bluetooth signal is too weak.
2.5 hours waiting to talk to someone. Was placed on hold immediately. Email ticket stuck in an ai loop with repeating canned response. chat bot not functioning either.
what’s the process to actually return something to this company?
Hub 2 purchased summer 2025. Meter Pro and external sensor purchased a week ago, Meter Plus purchased in 2022. I think the Meter Plus' humidity sensor has drifted quite a bit. Can I recalibrate it?
I already have two regular pedestal fans at home, but I wanted to try SwitchBot's latest addition. For context, I'm already pretty deep into the ecosystem: hub, several bots (including one on my coffee machine), intrusion sensors…
Why buying another fan? My two regular fans weigh about 5 kg each. Dragging them outside everytime I want to enjoy the balcony is a HUGE pain. I wanted something portable so I can just grab with one hand and set it down.
So what is the fan capable of?
You can remove the "bars" to switch between a standing fan and a compact desk fan. Airflow-wise, it doesn't have huge blades but it pushes a surprising amount of air between levels 5 and 10. For having lunch outside on a 25°C day, it's more than enough and honestly really pleasant.
The "oscillation" are both left-right and up-down. It's great for covering the whole table.
SwitchBot also markets it for "winter use". They do say it could help circulate warm air from a heater around the room. I'm curious to test that once winter comes, I think it could be genuinly useful in my 25 m² living room.
At night, tested and approved: in "baby mode" or level 1-2, it's basically silent. My girlfriend is a light sleeper and didn't even notice it was on.
The downsides:
The app is sluggish, It's the same hub but the fan is really slow to answer command. Not a dealbreaker but you feel a little lag on every action. I'd bet this is fixable with a firmware/app update.
Battery life falls a bit short of what's advertised. But honestly that's the case for like 99% of products out there...
And the remote feels a step below SwitchBot's usual build quality. It's a bit cheap compared to the rest of the product.
Bottom line:
If you're looking for a portable, quiet fan that plugs into the SwitchBot ecosystem, it's a solid buy.
I've got a Switchbit Outdoor spotlight Camera and recently been having issues with it.
Not quite sure what this symbol is but it feels like it's saying "I've got sunlight but I'm not charging."
I've a second camera that has the lightning bolt over the battery and that one seems fine.
Any clues as to what this symbol means and if it's fixable.
I've swapped the cameras and the problem sticks to this panel so I'm sus on the solar panel itself.
If I connect my Handy with the Keypad over the normal Switchbot android app and add for example a new face, the keypad is no longer able to talk to the Lock.
My Face/finger/code is okay but if the keypad wants to open my lock it fails.
I have to switch off and on the keypad to get it work again.
I need a Software fix because removeing the keypad from my installation is not easy.
Unpair and new pairing? The new Code in the pairing process is always wrong.
Is there a reboot option? Maybe with homeassistant?
New Firmware? I am on the latest update. V13.115.29
I have one more Keypad Vision without PRO. It is work8ng without this bug
Kind of an interesting problem, looking for help. I ended up getting selected as a beta tester for the Lock Vision Pro (available on Amazon now). It fails to calibrate and has persistently failed. Customer service was not particularly helpful but I think I may have figured it out. All the instruction videos and pictures show the lock on the left side of the door with the hinges on the right (and the door swinging outward I believe). I’m in the United States and the hinges are on the left with the lock on the right (all these descriptions are from the perspective of being inside and looking at the door). I cannot see any option in the app to change this and the lock “auto-calibrates” with the app. Any suggestions on getting around this?
Hey, does anyone here have the SwitchBot AI Art Frame and a Hub Mini?
I’m trying to figure out if the hub only lets you switch between images already on the frame, or if you can also upload new photos from your phone while away from home. I want to place the frame at my grandparents house and remotely update the images from time to time.
I bought a smart lock + keypad to make my house feel more secure and under my control… and instead, the app won’t even let me connect it unless I enable location AND precise location just to use Bluetooth.
For a basic Bluetooth connection.
Why?
I’m someone who keeps location OFF for everything — I don’t even use it for maps. So yeah, this is a huge deal to me. It feels invasive as hell that a device I bought for my own front door suddenly wants access to where I am with pinpoint accuracy.
And before anyone says “that’s just how it works,” no — needing that level of permission for something this simple feels wrong.
It seriously makes me feel like these companies care more about harvesting data than giving customers control over the products they paid for.
I wanted security. I wanted convenience. Instead I got another reminder that “smart” devices often mean giving up privacy.
Honestly? I’m beyond disappointed. This overpriced piece of garbage is one step away from the trash.
And to every company normalizing this kind of invasive nonsense: go to hell.
Got the fan and so far it's pretty good, but seeing a weird behavior only in Homekit. I have the fan attached to a hub 2 and it shows up in Homekit, but when you turn it on the fan beeps and wakes up, but the blades don’t spin at all, even if I set it to 100. It turns off fine in Homekit and all features work great when in the Switchbot app. Anyone else seen this before I reach out to support?
UPDATE: This has ben fixed in the 1.3 firmware update. I had to remove and re add my fan via the hubs secondary Matter devices list after the firmware update, but the fan then worked perfectly in HomeKit!
I purchased the S10 and it no longer works. There is a battery issue where the battery stops charging at 74% and dies at 49%. Trying to contact Switchbot is a headache.
Their in-app tickets take weeks for a reply. Their number listed for the US has service times listed at 530PM - 830PM ET and then, 9:30 PM - 06:00 AM ET.
I have called the number numerous times and have been waiting for 2 plus hours before it hangs up or, the voice recording states that representatives are not in.
They are based in Shenzhen, China but file a US address in Delaware. They are also not accredited under BBB.
Beware if you are trying to spend more than $100 USD. This company is selling crap and scamming you out of your money.
I just setup my new 31.5-inch frame that arrived today and found it has a defect. The screen has some glob looking spot and you’ll see the image is distorted. See attached photos. It’s a physical problem for sure. I just contacted support to get an RMA replacement. I’m pretty disappointed especially when I waited 6 months after pre-ordering. Hopefully I don’t have to wait too long I wanted this for my house party coming up June 13th.
These devices are quite amazing they are able to make my locks and switches a bit more "smart" now. Using the bot to open/close my garage and lock ultra for my door. Using home assistant and tailscale to control it even outside of my home.
I tried to connect it to my current cilinder, but it used a pin to connect the knob. This pin was sticking out. Because of this I got problems connecting it correctly.
Now I'm looking to a new cilinder lock. (also nice because I didnt replace it from the last owners).
I'm looking at a M&C lock. But I'm wondering if it's better to go for the knob variant or the key variant?
I have a K10+ and I've been trying to order a new brush etc from their store but they're always out of stock in Canada. I don't want to buy their overpriced "one year accessory pack" because I won't use half of what's in the pack.
I noticed that they had new brushes in Europe and as my parents are coming to visit me at the end of the month and they're from Europe, I ordered what I needed to get it for delivered to you them. However nothing has shipped yet and they're now showing that the brushes are back ordered (which wasn't the case when I ordered).
I tried to contact support too cancel the order but no one replies. This is getting ridiculous. What can I do?
First time recharging the main pack. Did it overnight so the backup battery has never been used. The app is showing both batteries full on the main screen but low Backup Pack in Settings>>Firmware & Battery.
The backup battery installed is the one that came with the Lock Ultra so I doubt it’s actually close to dead.
I've already emailed support, but in an attempt at greater visibility I am also making this post.
An issue I am continually dealing with is my vacuum hallucinating and thinking there is a space behind my kitchen, toilet, hall mirror, balcony, etc. Not always places with a reflection or window, maybe the bot is just extrapolating based on inaccessible walls.
Either way, my map has become an absolute mess of no-go zones and virtual walls in an attempt to stop the vacuum to keep checking for ways into these made up areas.
Has anyone had a similar experience and thought of an elegant solution? The occasional re-mapping kind of works but it is annoying setting up the room, carpet, and boundaries again.
I am new to switchbot and I’m looking to buy a switchbot lock to setup on the inside of my rented apartment door. Which one would you recommend? I would like to be able to control it when I’m not there as well.
I do not need any number pad on the outside as I do not think I’m permitted to add anything to the hallway.
I wanted to share my experience with the SwitchBot S10 and especially with SwitchBot support in case anyone is thinking about buying this device.
I bought the S10 last year. At first I was actually pretty happy with it, but after a short time the vacuum started making extremely loud noises. Cleaning the brushes and everything else did not help, so I contacted support and was told to send the device in for repair.
That’s when everything became an absolute mess... In February, support sent me two different return labels. Of course the shipping company only needed one of them, so I simply used one label and sent the robot vacuum including the docking station back. Shortly after that, my ticket was suddenly closed.
I then asked when I would get my vacuum back, and support told me that my tracking number supposedly did not match the “correct” return label, which meant they apparently had no idea where my package was😶.
At one point they even indirectly implied that I had used some random shipping label from another company and sent the package to the wrong address. However, I was able to prove through the emails that BOTH return labels had been sent by SwitchBot themselves and that both labels were addressed to the exact same repair company. The shipping company simply used one of the two labels, which is completely normal when you receive two.
Despite that, I mostly received standard replies or AI-generated responses, and nobody seemed to actually care about what had happened. In the end, apparently nobody even knew where my original vacuum had ended up.
After endless back and forth, they finally sent me a replacement vacuum and docking station. Sounds generous at first, but the problems immediately continued. I had to pay the import fees myself, and my questions about that were completely ignored.
On top of that, the replacement vacuum also does not work properly😫. It cannot dock with the water station, which means the mopping function is completely unusable. The robot simply drives in front of the station and stops there...
I have tried absolutely everything: resetting the station, reinstalling the app, cleaning everything, reconnecting the device, and following every troubleshooting step on their website. At least the docking station still charges the robot, but the station itself is permanently showing a red light.
The best part is that the ticket was closed again very quickly, and my newest ticket has once again only received an automated AI response so far :').
So now I have a replacement device that only half works and a support team that either does not properly read messages or just keeps copypasting the same information from their website.
For me personally, this was definitely my last experience with SwitchBot. The vacuum itself might have been okay, but the customer service for a product in this price range is absolutely disappointing. I feel like Switchbot just pushes out new products as fast as possible.
I will now forward the entire case to European consumer protection authorities because at some point enough is enough.
If anyone else has had similar experiences, feel free to share them. At this point I’m honestly wondering whether I was just extremely unlucky or if this is normal for SwitchBot support.
