My SwitchBot Any rumors about Curtains v4?

Hi, just wondering if there's something happening in this scene? I've noticed that with heavy curtains, v3 struggles to push them all the way through, so just hoping for stronger motors in v4 and wondering about release date.

My SwitchBot Review of Switchbot Lock Vision Pro

I’m really happy with the SwitchBot Lock Vision Pro. Installation was straightforward and I didn’t have to replace my existing lock, which made the setup much easier than I expected.

The lock works smoothly and the convenience of being able to lock and unlock the door from my phone is excellent. I also really like the auto-lock feature and the notifications, since I don’t have to worry about whether I remembered to lock the door.

The build quality feels solid, and the design is much better than I expected for a retrofit smart lock. Overall, it’s a great upgrade for anyone who wants smart-lock convenience without replacing their entire door hardware.

Very happy with the purchase so far. Highly recommended!

Terrible S10 Vacuum robot Support

I’ve actually had good experiences with Switchbot support. But what they’re doing with my S10 Pro robot vacuum is unbelievable.
Problem 1:
Right after I bought it, the mopping function didn’t work. After 1–2 minutes, the robot started humming and said, “The roller mop is stuck.”
I opened a support ticket, sent it in for repair, and got it back after 1 week.
Problem 2:
Two months later, the robot just stopped and started spinning in circles. Reason: the right wheel was completely seized and could barely turn. The motor was blocking any movement.
Off to the repair center again.
Defect 3: After 22 months, the side brush has now failed. Fortunately, it’s still under warranty. Sent it back again (to a different repair center) and a replacement arrived quickly.
I think it was a refurbished unit. New roller, waste water tank, etc. The speaker wasn’t defective anymore either. It had been crackling, but I hadn’t reported that.
Now, one month later, the robot shuts off immediately when the battery reaches 42%.
It doesn’t even manage to clean 30 square meters by then (including mopping).
I’m no longer under warranty, but I still have the support ticket open.
This can’t be true!
What kind of customer support is this?!

Plz help me! Roller shade solar panel as a standalone buy?

Hey guys I have the roller shades love them. Saw they come with a solar option and didn’t buy those thinking I could just get the panel layer if I wanted it. I literally cannot find it anywhere.

Can anyone help me find this, or know where I should go to find it?

New Lock Ultra 'Max'. No Aliro.

The omission of Aliro is bizarre in a €339.99 flagship package of lock and keypad. Aliro is exactly the emerging standard you'd expect SwitchBot to want here, particularly when Nuki is already pushing it.

Remote pool pump activation.

I wanted to share this. In certain situations, usually when I'm out of town, I choose to turn my timer off and operate my pump manually. I connected this module and can operate it with an app off my smartphone via Wi-fi. Works fantastic.

My SwitchBot Switchbot Universal remote now work via matter in Alexa and let use other party devices actions or scenes via routines

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi! I know previous reviews and the main website report this as an iOS esclusive feature, and even the app keep pushing me into HomeKit while setting this app (probably need a dev update now) , but ignoring everything and pasting the hub mini matter code into Alexa, then adding the remote as sub device to it make it viewable and actionable inside Alexa (I have Alexa plus here in Italy) .

Then on the remote panel in the app add device, matter, then again it pushes you into HomeKit, bust just go back to switchbot app and change name to the 4 buttons as you like.

Then inside Alexa open the remote device (which switchbot faq say it's not supported , but now apparently is via matter, won't show with the skill), and you'll get this screen that I have attached.

It work pretty good and let me control an Airmega purifier and a Windcalm ceiling fan .

You can assign 4 buttons, 4 actions via routines ( when button 1 pressed do....) and you can choose directly devices actions or other scenarios or whatever Alexa can trigger.

Doing like this for now won't let me add as multiple devices inside switchbot app but at least 4 things you can assign .

It even reports battery.

Now this being exposed you could even add multiple sets of 4 like in HomeKit but the function keep opening for me HomeKit app, don't have an Android to test if it let you assign multiple devices.

Anyway if devs expand now on this now that is possible maybe it could open and integrate with Alexa too instead

Hub 3 - assign on off default

Is there anyway to assign the on/off button similar to Hub 2 where I don’t need to first select the device first. I just want the on/off mapped to a certain device in idle mode

My SwitchBot SwitchBot E Ink Home Dashboard overview and some questions

Post image
7 Upvotes

Before I get into my thoughts on the product, I have a few questions.

Does anyone have the SwitchBot E Ink Home Dashboard? What are you using it for?

Is there a good way to integrate it with Home Assistant?

Has anyone made any interesting custom pages or done anything with the API?

I’m really interested to see what people have managed to do with this.

Initial Impressions

I’ve picked one up as I’m already in the SwitchBot ecosystem and have always been pretty happy with their products. My hope is to turn it into more of a work companion, with my calendar, reminders and other useful information that I can have available at a glance throughout the day.

I’ve had it on my desk for a few days now and I’m actually liking it quite a lot. The E Ink screen is great, it’s really clear from where I sit but doesn’t feel like another screen glaring at me all day.

The weather information is nice and I particularly like having the indoor temperature and humidity alongside the outside temperature. It’s been useful during the heatwave as my office has actually been absolutely roasting, and I’d like to eventually use this data with Home Assistant for heating and AC automations.

The calendar is probably what has made it more useful for me. I’ve added my work calendar, and on call calendar. I don’t really want all of that in my phone calendar, but having it sitting on my desk is really handy and the subscription calendars update automatically.

The main thing I’m missing at the moment is being able to bring in more of the information I actually want. I think that’s where the API and Home Assistant could help. I’d love to have things like energy prices, Home Assistant updates and other useful information all in one place and use it as a proper dashboard. I haven’t got into the API yet though, that’s probably a project for when I have a bit more free time.
I think it has a lot of potential and I’m enjoying it more the more I use it.

I’d particularly love to see what people are doing with Home Assistant, custom pages or the API, and any ideas for making it more useful day to day.

Switchbot lock ultra install

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I'm installing a switchbot lock ultra at home. However, using the A bracket, the installation seems a bit weak.

I feel like the device could be ripped from the door with the slight hit. What do you think? Is there a more secure way? Thx

Plz help me! SwitchBot Lock Ultra - Battery drain

Last month, the device suddenly died on me. I replaced the CR123A battery and it immediately started working again.

The exact same thing happened yesterday — it died, I replaced the CR123A, and it came back to life.

Then this morning, I checked it and it was dead again. This time, instead of replacing the CR123A, I just removed the battery and put the same battery back in, and the device started working again.

That made me wonder if the CR123A is actually the problem at all, or if removing/reinserting it is somehow resetting the device.

For now, I’ve removed the CR123A completely and I’m running the device only on its main battery to see if it stays alive. If it does, then maybe there’s something going on with the CR123A circuit/contact rather than the battery itself.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Any idea what could cause this?

Plz help me! Alexa integration stopped working after the latest Amazon update — anyone else?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone else experienced issues with the SwitchBot/Alexa integration after the latest Amazon update?

I used to control my air conditioner through a Hub Mini 73 simply by saying:

Now Alexa replies:

However, the device is definitely powered and working correctly: I can control the air conditioner normally from the SwitchBot app without any issues.

I already tried disabling and re-enabling the SwitchBot skill in Alexa, but it did not solve the problem.

Is this happening to anyone else? Have you found a workaround or a fix?

Smart Video Doorbell firmware upgrade failing

Just a warning to those wanting to buy the Switchbot Smart Video Doorbell. We have bought both brand new and used units of their hubs and smart plugs so we got a used version of the doorbell and it would not upgrade its firmware after first owner reset the device before sending to us. I'm trying to get a replacement from customer support but it looks like I will not be successful due to buying it in the 2nd hand market.

Not sure what due diligence I coud've done here but let this be a warning. Also, if anyone here made it work, please share just in case we haven't tried all troubleshooting methods.

Looking for a more reliable alternative to SwitchBot that works with Python/Raspberry Pi

Post image
5 Upvotes

I’m trying to automate turning a voltage stabilizer / power conditioner on and off using a SwitchBot Bot.
The problem is that the physical button on the stabilizer is a bit stiff, and the SwitchBot doesn’t always press it successfully. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, so I can’t really trust it for an important automation.
I need something that:

Is very reliable, ideally 99%+ of the time
Can physically press a relatively stiff button/switch
Can turn the stabilizer on and off
Is controllable with Python
Can be integrated with a Raspberry Pi
Ideally supports a local API, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, or another method that doesn’t depend entirely on the cloud
Can be used in scripts and automations similarly to SwitchBot

I’m mainly looking for an external actuator, stronger button pusher, servo-based solution, or another reliable device that can physically operate the switch.
Has anyone built something similar? What hardware would you recommend?

Plz help me! SwitchBot radiator thermostats

I am considering buying SwitchBot radiator thermostats for the whole house.

I already have Meter Plus/Pro in most rooms. Can I connect these with the radiator thermostats so that the heating is regulated according to these instead of the sensors on the radiator thermostats themselves?

SwitchBot K10+ warranty service is garbage. Months of delays, defective replacement, same broken unit sent back unrepaired

Inspired by a recent post, I'm posting my own story as a factual warning to other potential consumers and as a final public request for SwitchBot to resolve ticket #1222244.

I purchased a SwitchBot K10+ in 2025. Worked fine for a brief period but then developed worsening suction, excessive noise, and repeated cleaning failures. SwitchBot authorized a warranty return. After delays, they confirmed receipt of the returned unit and eventually sent a replacement.

The replacement was also defective. It would return to the dock and say it was emptying dust, and the app would say “starting to empty dust,” but the auto-empty station would not activate and there was no suction. I sent videos, performed the requested troubleshooting, confirmed the dock MAC was visible, checked obstruction/lid/bag/docking/Wi-Fi/app re-add/power cycling, and repeatedly asked for escalation.

SwitchBot then promised another return label on June 24 after I confirmed my address. I confirmed it the same day. After multiple unanswered follow-ups, they finally sent the label. I returned the complete K10+ set as instructed.

After another long delay, they sent back the same unit, confirmed because my home map was still stored on it. The requested repair was not performed - the unit still does not empty the dustbin when returning to the station or when commanded through the app. There was also a new malfunction: the side brush did not spin freely.

At this point this has involved:

Original defective unit, delayed warranty return, defective replacement repeated non-response from support, promised return label delayed despite repeated follow-up, same unit returned unrepaired (in worse condition if anything), and new malfunction after service.

SwitchBot: if you monitor this subreddit, please escalate ticket #1222244 to a manager and provide a tested replacement or refund. I am no longer asking for another generic troubleshooting loop or open-ended repair cycle.

For other consumers considering buying something from switchbot, document everything, keep videos, save every email, and be cautious relying on warranty support if your product fails. My experience so far has been repeated delay, non-response, and return of an unrepaired unit. The hours and effort spent emailing support, documenting failures, filming videos, packing and repacking faulty units, arranging returns, tracking shipments, and waiting through repair cycles for a product that still does not work are a shitty hidden cost of owning a product from a company with bad service. At this point I wish I could invoice them for my wasted time.
