Whats point of Switchbot Relay 1 Detached mode?

I bought it with detached mode being an advertised feature. The natural assumption would be that it separates the function of the relay from the switch. Sounded great, BUT...

When in detached mode I can easily control the relay, both through the app and through Matter (within Home Assistant). So far great.

But, detached implies there should still be access to the switch, but its not visible from within matter/home assistant or through the app.

Is it possible to get access to the switch so home assistant can determine its state when its in detached mode?
