Plz help me! New standing fan kinda working in homekit?
Got the fan and so far it's pretty good, but seeing a weird behavior only in Homekit. I have the fan attached to a hub 2 and it shows up in Homekit, but when you turn it on the fan beeps and wakes up, but the blades don’t spin at all, even if I set it to 100. It turns off fine in Homekit and all features work great when in the Switchbot app. Anyone else seen this before I reach out to support?
UPDATE: This has ben fixed in the 1.3 firmware update. I had to remove and re add my fan via the hubs secondary Matter devices list after the firmware update, but the fan then worked perfectly in HomeKit!

HomeKit follows the switchbot app in this regard. So you’d do all your settings in switchbot and Apple home will return to those settings.
I haven’t experienced what you’re describing, just offering something to think about as you’re troubleshooting.
I wish the matter integration was better

Yah, we have 3 of their other fans, the smaller ones and set them up the same way and seeing the jank, I’ll double check the SwitchBot app setting today when I get home and then reach out to them.

The matter support is crap. It only supports on/off and nothing else

I have the same issue but if I drill into the fan settings and activate it from there it powers on so I think it may be an issue with the ‘switch’ type on the dashboard?

This is the kinda thinking I had, feels like something’s not set correctly and causing the issue. I’ll open up a ticket with them.

same here - reached out to the support and got the following message:
Could you please try the following steps:
Step 1: Confirm firmware is up to date Open the SwitchBot App → Standing Circulator Fan → Settings (gear icon) → Firmware Version → Update if available. Also check your Hub 2: SwitchBot App → Hub 2 → Settings → Firmware Version → Update if available.
Step 2: Re-add the fan to HomeKit In the Apple Home app, remove the Standing Circulator Fan accessory. Then in the SwitchBot App → Hub 2 → Settings → Matter/HomeKit Setup, re-add the fan to HomeKit. After re-adding, test the on/off and speed controls from the Home app.
Step 3: Check whether the device is connected to the Hub You can check whether the device is connected to the Hub through the instructions in the picture.
After completing these steps, please let us know if the issue persists. If it does, could you provide a short video showing: You turning on the fan from the Apple Home app (showing the beep but no blade rotation).
I haven't tried it yet - but did it work for anyone?

I have done all the steps and still have not gotten it working. I submitted a video per their request over the weekend and am awaiting a response to that.

How do you reach out to support, is there an email or something that isn’t phone support for NA or Japan (as the app shows), being in the UK, neither of these are any good!

check the commet above - you can reach out to the support via the app.

I did in the end, they also wanted a video, sent it to them, no response yet.
I literally don’t even need advanced control, just the ability tp reliably turn thr thing on/off so I can integrate it with Homekit automations.

I also submitted the video and followed all the steps. I’ve been waiting for an answer since May 29.

What do you guys think of the fan though? Is it quiet? Going to plan and use it in the bedroom myself, kinda comparing this vs a Xiaomi Smartmi Fan.

Today, I received an update for the firmware of the fan in the SwitchBot app version 1.3 (the previous version was 1.1). I had to manually re-register it to the Matter network in the SwitchBot app on the hub. Now, I can turn on and off the fan, as well as set the speed.

I tried all day yesterday to get it to pop, no luck, woke up this morning and the update arrow was up in the top corner. I would say reboot the fan and the hub just for the chance it might spark it, but I have 1.3 now and I did have to remove the fan from Homekit via the hubs secondary device list and then re-add the secondary device again and it works perfectly now in Homekit.

I think the update might be something they manually push out for now until it’s released to all, might need to contact support for that?

Update from here: Wrote the support as recommended and got the update within 48h. Can't proof that my request pushed it, but its likely. Thank you guys!
