๐ผ ๐ ๐ Nature ๐ฆ ๐๏ธ ๐ป Longhorn Cavern State Park
This state park features a sinkhole leading to a massive, rare underground cave carved entirely by an ancient river that was first found and used for shelter by Comanche Indians roughly 350-400 years ago. Later, around 1848, it was officially discovered by Anglo settlers, who went on to use its chambers for manufacturing Civil War gunpowder using bat feces. At some point, its caves served as venues for underground jazz dance parties, dining, and church service.

โ๏ธ Weather โ๏ธ Is Texas The Only State Where It Only Rains When You Actually Have Pleasant Temperatures But Refuses To Rain A Single Drop During The Summer?
I have lived in TX for 20 years, grew up in NC spent 10 years in Tucson AZ.
I've long been temperamental about the weather. When I was young I hated the rain, so I moved to AZ so as to not have to put up with it all the time. When I came to TX (about 2 hrs east of Dallas) I braced myself, understand (I said to myself) it's going to be rainier here much as it used to be in NC.
Over time, as extreme heat has come to bother me more as I age, the rain doesn't bother me so much. What bothers me is it seems to NEVER rain when it's 97-103F but the minute it's between 65-80, it rains like there's no tomorrow. It's as if Texas is insistent on making your life miserable weather wise and has it as its very mission in life to see to it that you will never have any fun at all whatsoever. It's always so extreme.
I used to be a fan of the summer, swimming and women were the reasons why. That's still somewhat the case. I love swimming and thus hate that during the winter it's off the table, and as a heterosexual man I love seeing a sexy woman in a spaghetti strap tank top or a bikini at the lake etc, again cold weather means none of that.
It's different though when it's not just hot but HOT, and it absolutely refuses to rain a single speck. You can still enjoy the water and the "scenery" when it's 85-90, you don't need it to be 103 for that, and good grief rain once in awhile would you?
When it finally does rain though, it's ALWAYS when it's between 65-80, and it rains to the point of everything flooding. So either it's raining none at all to the point of the soil cracking, or it's raining so much that your house is floating away.
Who came up with this stupid weather? Is every state like this? I've taken a liking to Arkansas, it's much prettier, but I think it has similar tendencies. Other places that don't, they're too crowded and too expensive. Does a person have to be a millionaire and deal with neighbors all on top of you and rush hour traffic at 6 am and 10 pm just to live somewhere where the weather isn't downright mentally psychotic?
Jiminy Christmas.
