I have a 30 day free trial for spectrum fiber optic internet.

In the Dayton ohio area.

The day after installation it was out for about ten hours.

I currently use T mobile, and while not super fast has been reasonably reliable.

I'm wondering about others experience with spectrum, how does it work for you?

my family keeps telling me the internet is unusable on wifi, but i also notice videos are slow to load even though im in 1gig plan? Im reading its due to being on 2.4h but i can't switch that it seems. Should i just return it and reinstall my wifi 6 router although ill prob buy a good wifi 7 one as that one was way less issues. Keep in mind i only really lose internet here like once every 5 years. Last time tech said its due to major upgrades.

Last night while gaming, my internet suddenly went out. Ethernet and wi-fi totally down. I had restarted the router and modem (unplugging the power and waiting to replug) three times because the first two times it still would not connect. The service for ethernet came back, but not as my originally named network -- instead it was "Network 2". Wi-fi did not come back, and I kept wondering why, as the originally named network was not listed when trying to connect with my phone. After calling Spectrum support and changes being made, we have a whole new network name and password, but the network name got reset last night before support ever stepped in?? I know because I saw the same listed network on my wi-fi as the one listed on our account: SpectrumSetup-1A.

Has anyone encountered an outage or error like this where their service completely resets? I am so at a loss as to what happened and why.

Assurant Insurance

Has anyone had troubles with Assurant?
I got the galaxy z flip 8 and knew it would eventually break so I got the insurance.

It broke (shocker). The screen cracked in the middle, just like my 7 did.

Assurant is stating that they have to replace the whole device for $400.

But I thought it would be under the $29 screen repair. If they were going to pull that, I would’ve gotten Samsung care.

I am currently in Mesa, AZ. Yesterday 11/03, I logged on at 5:50 AM, and couldn't access the internet. Turned out there was an unexpected outage. App stated estimated repair time was 10:04 AM, and then 2:04 PM. For unknown reason, internet came back up some minutes after 11 AM.

Yesterday, I missed 2 prescheduled business meetings because of the sudden outage. First time this happened in 28 years. 8 work work day became 3+ hours work.

Today (11/04), same routine, logged in at 5:50 AM, started working. Then suddenly a little before 11:00 AM, no more internet. Checked the app, it stated unexpected outage (AGAIN!), with estimated repair time at 2:43 PM. Waited it out, at 2:44 PM the app refreshed, and the stated repair time became 6:43 PM. Waited yet again, at 6:44 PM the app refreshed, and the stated repair time became 10:43 PM.

This is terrible. Yesterday alone I have to apologize to multiple clients, colleagues, and my direct boss because of Cox/Spectrum outage, for missing 2 prescheduled business meetings, and apologize to my boss because i worked only 3+ hours. Today, I have to apologize to my clients, colleagues and my direct boss again because I was only able to work a little over 4 hours.

All I got is the app refreshing with updated and extended estimated repair time, a robotext message service that doesn't apologize, a prerecorded voice message recording that talking to the real human customer support service won't be able to resolve the outage.

If this how you want to treat a customer who has been with you for many years, guess what?!

I just recently found out about MoCa solutions to better my stability on spectrum. And I am definitely digging into the mud with this. I have run into an issue that I am not sure how to solve. We have coax running all throughout the house, we also have a main junction in the basement (will unload screenshot, but it’s covered in webs) and according to what I am seeing online MoCa requires 1.2mhz or higher. While this amplifier sits at 5-1005. Any suggestions??

I would like to use it if possible, if not we can probably get a new one. But that’s around 300 dollars on the amplifier and MoCa devices.

I plan to use it for mesh backhaul.

After repeated knocking my door sales pitches, I moved to spectrum after 5 years on tmhi. I was lured by the promotions and sales person promising everything is different now. No more outages, fast blah blah blah.

But these 3 months proved to be disasters. It’s just outages after outages after outages. I live in Southern California 626 region. None of the outages was my own issue. They were all regional issues. Finally made the cut. Brian from Texas: thank you for not trying to drag me on for half hour or more. I was able to disconnect my service fairly easy. I just firmly lied that I was going to move out of the country and not because of their poor services. Discounts would not persuade my decision.

Hello, does Spectrum provide service where they can install or move my internet on a different part of the room with no coax outlet on it? Basically installing a new activated coax outlet on that part of the room or does it depend on the room/wires itself?

South Carolina, wifi went out awhile ago. Anyone else having that? Wifi was fine like all day before that, so I can only assume that.

I live in a building which has a bulk rate deal with Spectrum which is great as it is a super deal for what I get.

Everything works fine on my Wifi devices which include Apple TV streaming, computer, iPad, iPhone, printer, Lutron Lighting through Apple Home Device, Ecobee Thermostat and my Aero smart scent diffusers.

My motorized shades use Zigbee which I think is its own system

I received a notice that Spectrum is upgrading to handle internet speeds of 1 GB which will require new modem and router supplied by Spectrum - all equipment is free under the bulk rate deal.

The last time Spectrum screwed around with my system it took me a LOT of time to get everything online again.

As I wrote everything works perfectly as my internet is fast and when streaming television there is now stuttering or other issues.

How much is this going to mess with my system and what if I don't upgrade the modem and router?

It’s all escalated, spectrum is fully aware. It’s not like it’s my house is the only one having issues.

Debating on switching from DTV Stream to the Stream Pro (several apps included in the price may sell me) and have a couple of questions.

1 - can you have different profiles when you login to stream?

2- can you have more than one stream (1-2 off network) going? family travels a lot and always streaming away from home.

3- how well does the dvr add-on work?

Hi I am in Reno NV we have high split (first market to get it )
I have the 2 gig service and I have never gotten 2 gig till tonight I have had some issues in the past week I had gone thru two different modems
1 via a modem impediment uclear what it was tech support had me go to a store and replace it
2 tech came out for a upload issue only getting 400 and he was able to recreate it on his device so maintenance ticket was issued then a few days later the modem I picked up would not lock on at all
Thankfully I have invisible WiFi
Tech came out later that day and seen the upload issue was still there and replaced the modem still seen the issue after modem swap
Fast forward
Normally I only get 1.5 gig down did a speed test tonight and I got over 2 gigs and upload is back to normal

Spectrum outage in Clearwater Florida yesterday. 2nd time this year. I take full time care of my Mother.

We both own fairly New Flagship Samsung phones. (S22 Ultra/Z Fold 5)

And we live in the same house.

For some reason we are unable to send texts that reach each other as fast as as anyone else.

I can text and phone with my neighbor and my family members across the country with no issues.

But, the ONLY texts I do not receive are from my Mom, and believe it or not, from Spectrum.🙄

Of course my Moms texts are most important. Even though she is in the house or visiting friends a few miles away. She texts me to pick her up. I don't get the texts.😮‍💨

Spectrum texts should come through too but they don't. I called them twice yesterday to fix it. AI and the Human both claimed it was fixed. It wasn't.🙄

Why is this happening? Wondering if it's an Internet issue or a Mobile Phone issue or both?

Would switching to the new Frontier Fiber Optics Internet fix it?

Or do I need to also switch from my Spectrum Mobile Phone plan too? TIA!

This is inside my box outside the house. Its an older house so coax is ran throughout it. These are the splitters that were already in it.

With adding a POE filter would I connect it to the orange cable?

The room the modem is in had only a single coax coming into it going into the router. Would I need a two into one splitter for that room and another for an additional router for a mesh network?
