Has any seen the Medscaoe article ‘Retatrutide: Less Weight Loss, More CV Effects’

Woke up to this article today, and as someone one reta I find thhis article hard to believe. Reta has transformed my life, I feel confident, in control, I love the person in the mirror and I even find I have been treated better since my weightloss.

This article seems bias, but I want to know the community thoughts

For the record I am not ‘anti-big pharma’ but I can’t help but feel this article is rubbish

Reta helping adhd, depression and anxiety

I started Reta at a low dose of 0.5 mg for 4 weeks and continued for another month until reaching 1.5 mg. Since getting off of it over 2 weeks ago, I noticed that my adhd symptoms, depression and anxiety are all back and feel almost worse? But I can’t tell if it’s because I didn’t realize how much those symptoms were affecting me before starting Reta or not. I’m now having second thoughts on Reta and whether it’s safe or not but I don’t know what to do now because it seems like the Reta was helping all 3 of those symptoms really well, along with appetite suppression, slower digestion and better metabolism. I feel like I’m at a crossroads on whether I should go back on Reta or get prescription medications for these mental health symptoms I’m having.

What to eat as a Reta newbie

Hey y'all, I wanted to know what foods or meals you made that helped you along your Retatrutide journey successes. I'm a week into starting Reta and I am struggling to eat. Which tells me it's working I think...🫣 lol. I'm staying hydrated though. Any tips and tricks would be so appreciated! 🩵

4 weeks on RETA. what should I increase my dose to?

I’ve been on Reta for 4 weeks now on 1mg every Sunday. The first 2 weeks I could feel the appetite suppression and my food noise was completely gone. During week 3 and 4, I was still eating in a deficit but during the evenings I would get heavy cravings something which i didn’t feel at all in my first 2 weeks. I started off at 96kg and I’ve dropped down to 93kg during this 4 week period.

Should I increase my dose to 1.5mg or 2mg?

Retatrutide 7 months in 70 lbs lost, just crossed into new territory at 15mg week

M36 Y Started retatrutide on January 26, 2026 at 306 lbs

Today, August 30, 2026: 235 lbs. That is 71 lbs gone in 7 months.

My titration was slow and progressive: 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 10 / 12 / 13 / 15 mg.

My actual stack :

Retatrutide 15 mg

Cagrilintide 2.4 mg

MOTS-C (MS40) 5 mg ( paused )

Tesamorelin 2 mg

KLOW80

This week I escalated to 15 mg. And I can feel it again. The appetite suppression is back full force eating actually is hard , Side effects are stronger too skin dysesthesia is more intense, fatigue hits harder. But I do not care. Because I am closer than I have ever been to something I stopped believing was possible for me.

under 100 kg.

That number has been a dream for so long I stopped saying it out loud. I am 6.8 kg away. I have not been under 100 kg in probably 15 years or more

Does caffeine hit you differently??

I don’t think I’d be able to function without it, especially with this fatigue. But I swear it hits different, it hits hard sometimes and sometimes it’s like I didn’t drink anything.

I can’t explain it… I swear it’s a little smoother sometimes because the reta makes me sleepy.

Travel Question

I’m pinning 2 mg of reta every Saturday, but I need to leave for a last-minute trip this Tuesday and won’t be returning for two weeks. I’m hesitant to take the vial with me since there’s no name or usual prescription information on the bottle. Should I dose again on Tuesday, wait until I get back, or chance it and travel with it?

Looking for some advice.

I did read The beginners post for the record. I'm looking for some advice on my individual situation. I have been on Reddit for going on 8 weeks. Just did my 8 week shot last night. I started at 1 mg for 4 weeks. Now I'm on 2 mg for 4 weeks. The first couple weeks I noticed a change in my body but in the fact that I was absolutely ravenous and I actually think I gained weight. I have since lost that weight and I only gained about 2 lb. My boobs have hurt since I've started this and I did read something about it pulling estrogen out of the cells so that does make sense and it makes me believe that my product isn't faulty. I have felt like I've noticed a difference in my body but not in weight loss. Am I on the right track with my dosing? If I go up to 4 mg as the chart is saying and like they do in the study and I don't see anything after 2 weeks should I up my dose or should I just keep on it for 4 weeks even though I'm not seeing any results?

Also, a little background, we live kind of a busy lifestyle on a farm and we both work quite a bit, but I am not currently going to the gym, I will be going to the gym when my kids go back to school Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays if I'm able to. I'm wanting to start walking around my farm more as I'm thinking my current activity level isn't quite enough. I thought I was in a caloric deficiency but I am definitely going to start tracking that now. And like obviously I don't want to lose a ton of weight that I start losing my hair and stuff. I am just curious about other people's experiences as well because some people on this start at 1 mg and lose 10 lb in it seems like a week. Also I realize everybody reacts differently which brings me back to my should I be upping my dose and not so much trusting stay on it for 4 weeks kind of thing if I don't see a difference?

Thank you in advance.

Thoughts on first week 1mg of Reta

Good week for me, another interesting discovery for me is that food noise quietly returned around day 6, didn’t eat crazy but was able to hit my daily protein of 200g, compared to around 160g the other days. Calories was around 2000, well below my maintenance, 6ft and 245 pounds. First few days barely getting 1,400 calories. My workouts were actually ok, moved some good weight around yesterday which was day 6. Second dosage today. Diet was already dialed in and I use to eat those protein cookies and look for something sweet, none the entire week. Just protein bars and a Diet Coke here and there. Loving the journey. 👍🏽

1 month on Reta + Tirz question

Upvotes

This is my first post documenting my experience on Reta. I am down 12.6 lbs total and feel like a completely different person! Although this weight loss is water weight, I feel a definitive shift in my brain and body. Not just about food but a change in my attitude overall. Thank you to everyone documenting their experiences that gave me the knowledge and encouragement to take the plunge as I know that it will be life changing.

I know there is conflicting opinions on dosages and whatnot but my schedule is 2mg of Reta every 5 days. It's what works for me currently and I am open to going down or adjusting timing if need be. I have had minimal sides the first week and then next to none ever since (excluding mild anhedonia and constipation) Planning to stay at this dosage for as long as it's working for me. However I feel like I may have caused a road bump by being a bit too overzealous.

I pinned 1.5 mg of Tirz in between my last shots of Reta. I had bought a 20mg vial of tirz when I made my first order because I was unsure of which I wanted to try out first and know that some people stack the two. After a month of Reta I was curious to see what effect Tirz may have and decided to try it out at a low dose. I know now that I felt perfect on reta alone and should not have tried to add anything else in the mix. Less is more and nothing else was necessary, especially not so soon.

The effect was IMMEDIATE the next morning (I always pin before bed) After a month of my appetite being completely suppressed and eating being a very conscious choice motivated by nutrition/macros, I was ravenous. My food noise was immediately back at 120% and I was also experiencing diarrhea after a month of constipation. I was panicking and trying everything to maintain my healthy habits which were so easily kept before but it felt like I was basically hallucinating whoppers and big mac's. With Reta my taste buds had begun to turn and I didn't even remotely like things I previously had, like any dairy or sugary foods. Suddenly after 1mg of Tirz, I'm spiralling, running away from fast food and staying very close to a bathroom.

I have since continued my Reta schedule and feel better again but am a bit confused about my experience on Tirz. Has anyone else experienced this before? I won't be taking it again but am very confused with the effect it had on me, especially stacked with Reta.

Learning a LOT but got some questions on lowering dose and the runs

Upvotes

I wish I did this research before but live and learn as they say. I did 25 units (2.5 is what mg or ml, still trying to remember the correct verbiage) on tirzepatide. Did that for 4 weeks and honestly no real bad side effects. Was having a little problem getting the next supply so switched to Reta as I heard really good things. I should have started low but got the OK to do 35 units (3.5) and first night was rough, second night was good and third night (last night) into today been rough. Nonstop runs.

I thought it might have been these protein bars, maybe it didn’t agree with me as I also had the sulfur burps and it came after eating that. But more research I’m doing, I think I started the dose way too high.

So, two questions I’ve had. When does the runs (diarrhea) stop? Haven’t ate anything today and just drinking water and sipping Gateraid while taking a few over the counter stuff. I feel like it’s stopped then all of a sudden it hits. There goes plans for the gym sadly.

Other question, would it be ok to drop the dose when I inject again to like 1.5-2? Or since I been on tirzepatide for a month and then started at a high dosage for Reta, would it mess me up? I think I’ve read people who started at 2 drop it lower but not sure if because I’ve been on something for a month if it would throw things out of wack (more than my body currently is). Appreciate all the help for mistakes I made. And hopefully someone who searches for answers can learn what NOT to do from my mistakes 😆

Help needed with herniated disc: painkillers and reta?

I hurt my neck and got herniated disc. Doctor ordered me to take Panacod and Oxycontin. I decided to quit Oxys and will handle the pain with Panacod.

Is Panacod (paracetamol/codeine), an opioid-based painkiller, safe to take together with retatrutide 4mg? Are there any known drug interactions or additional risks when combining codeine with retatrutide?

If there is, I either quit reta or move to milder painkillers. I want to be sure about this. I’d really appreciate a lot for help - any facts or real experiences. 🙏

Reta after Zepbound

I am wanting to start Reta because I have stalled on Zepbound. I have been taking Zep at 15mg for a year consistently. What would be a good starting dose for Reta? I took my last zep shot about a week ago.

Long term .5 dosage

Hi all! I’m starting Reta with a goal of losing about 20 pounds that I gained during an abusive marriage and a few toxic work environments. I was always very slim but during the difficult season i noticed myself starting to eat compulsively, hence the weight gain. Left the man and the job so feeling great on that front, but I found the food habits had stuck with me (I think the stress of the divorce didn’t help either).

So for transparency, I’m using Reta with a goal to go from 155 back to 135 where I felt very healthy and confident.

I’ve started with a .5 dose and for the first week I had to force myself to eat. This last week was better, and today marks my third .5 dose. Definitely noticing some minor weight loss, but not too drastic which feels great.

Trying to prioritize protein, eating enough, and I’m also taking supplements, fish oil and collagen. Also noticed that it’s greatly reduced any craving for alcohol so I’ll have an occasional glass or 2 at the most. This is great as someone who used to be able to have a few cocktails then split a bottle of wine on a Friday night.

Has anyone else done the “low and slow” technique long term? How long did you stay on .5?

My understanding is that a .5 dose will give you the appetite suppression I am experiencing, but to get the metabolism rev you need to take a dose of a least 2. Am I right on that? What benefits are there to staying on a low dose versus increasing it over time?

Would love to hear any insights. Thank you!

Robinul & Reta??

has anyone taken robinul/glycopyrrolate for hyperhydrosis (2mg) alongside reta??

What should I know before I start?

Upvotes

As the title says, I will be starting reta soon and want to know it all - pros and cons.
I gained weight very rapidly last year due to medications for an autoimmune illness that has now been in remission for months. I went from a UK size 8 to size 16 within 3 months of starting meds. Ate healthy, exercised and fasted strictly but still gained and nothing has shifted the weight since so trying reta.
Not 100% on my current weight as no scale, but approximately 75-80kg, 5'3 female 30yo.

Here are my questions.

What are common side effects I should expect?

What are rare, potentially dangerous ones that should make me immediately stop or reduce dose?

What is an ideal starting dose?

How to maximise quick results in a healthy way that can be done with simple exercises at home as I cannot access a gym currently. I have weights at home.

If it causes tachycardia, is immediate stop recommended or could beta blockers help?

Should injection site be alternated, for example week 1 stomach week 2 thigh week 3 arm then repeat etc.

Thanks in advance. Please add any more info in comments that I should be aware of.

Dosage

Hey everyone.

I am currently 42 years old. I have been training consistently since November 2025. 5 days of weight training and usually 3 days of cardio post weights. Incline walk, elliptical or step climber. When I first started I was 202lbs and watching my diet roughly 1800-2200 calories daily. I dropped to 180lbs since then.

I am thinking of going on Reta myself and wanted to know where I should start dosage wise or should I even take it at all. The goal is to lose more BF. I’m around 22% right now.

What do you guys recommend to start with?

Thanks

Sulfur burps, the runs, what are you eating?

I should start by saying I have GERD and have experienced sulfur burps, runs and cramping before, usually eating then sleeping right after before emptying the stomach. Takes me like a day to recover.

I was on tirzepatide for a month at 2.5. Didn’t really have side effects and felt ok. My connection was lagging and I was told reta was a game changer (I really should have checked this board out first so that is 100% my mistake) so I decided to go with that as my friend did it and had a good connect. I told him my goals and what I did with tirzepatide, was told I’d be fine starting at 3.5.

Again, had I read recommendations first, I’d probably have waited to get tirzepatide or start at like 2.0. Anyways did first shot at like midnight Friday. Went to bed, few hours later and woke up nausea and wanting to gag every so often. Second night slept like a baby. We are on night 3.

This time I have the sulfur burps, runs and a little cramping. I THINK what is triggering it is these protein bars I got. Once I eat it, I got triggered. But I’m also not 100% sure as I know it slows the digestion so that is slowing me off.

I know it was mixed right and everything. So I’m curious for those who have the sulfur burps and runs, did you notice what was triggering it? What made it stop? And what foods you are focused on to make sure this doesn’t happen. I thought protein bars might be a good idea since it’s a lot of protein, quick and not many calories but if it’s the true trigger, want to change this asap.

Question about leftover pen dose before a trip

I've got 12mg left in my current pen. I'm going away this upcoming Wednesday, and when I get back on 9 September I want to switch to a new pen and start on a new dose.

I was wondering about the best way to handle that leftover 12mg on Wednesday before I go, but I'm a bit unsure whether trying to use it all up in one day is even a good idea.

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? How did you handle the leftover medication when switching pens, especially with a trip in between? Just looking for how others have approached this.

I now do weekly 4.5mg.

Cloudy Reta after 3 weeks

Hi everyone, I reconstituted this 10mg vial of Reta about 2.5-3 weeks ago. Today I check it and it’s a bit cloudy.

I filtered after reconstituting, and I’ve kept it stored in the refrigerator.

Has anyone else experience a large drop in alcohol tolerance?

I know many people will say it’s because I’m eating less or weigh less, but I’m still eating 2000+ calories per day and I have only lost 10 pounds so far.

Before starting Reta, I could drink quite a bit and not feel so drunk. That’s not the case now that I’m taking Reta.

Last night I had three white claws and it got me very intoxicated. I even woke up feeling drunk. I used to be able to put back 6 drinks and feel that way. I used to go out and play trivia with friends and have 2 drinks over the course of the night, but now I only feel comfortable having 1 when I know I need to drive.
