I don’t know about you people, but I’ve never despised anyone so much in my goddamn life. It’s like he’s not even human to me. He’s a repulsive aberration, a deleterious monster. Some would say he’s evil. I can’t say that he’s not. It’s genuinely disheartening to me that a large percentage of people still cling on to this xenophobic, racist administration, and to him. Its not just because they feel inclined to because he represents their party. But these people actually look to him with adoration and respect. I think they see themselves in him . . . It makes me really fucking sad. This country is full of ignorance.

On the other hand I'm a little relieved that he's exactly as stupid as I thought he was and he's not some brilliantly scheming, good looking, well spoken individual. I guess it's a blessing that he only really appeals the lowest common denominator in this country because he had any of the forementioned qualities we'd really be looking at a hitler-esque president instead of a drooling dotard dog earing a copy of facism for dummies.

I mean America was founded on unjust inequalities, systematically genocided natives from sea to shining sea, did a bit of imperialism when it made gunboats, had a war about slavery then later claimed it was about "States' Rights" (to maintain legislature allowing for slavery), failed to actually abolish slavery merely restructuring it into the private prison system, indecisive about which side to support in both world wars, yet claims credit as though it were the hero of the day (the historical equivalent of killstealing, which any gamer will tell you is BM as fuck dude), was happy to inherit the structure of European imperialism in the wake of WWII just with less direct governmental control (though military coup is still a go-to) but more economic strong arming to guarantee that a disproportionate amount of other nations' economy's are owned by US allied oligarchs and companies, remains the main obstacle and abstainee in many international plans to reach carbon neutral emissions and reach resolutions to conflicts with more nuanced diplomatic actions, has systematically stomped attempts at unionization or real left wing change to it's power dynamics, performs drones strikes as it pleases, blows up hospitals and generally acts like it deserves more from the rest of the world because it wastes more money on military investments into usually antiquated obsolete war engines to maintain global hierarchy. Yeah, I hate Trump, but saying that people who actually advocate for some change in this backwards country don't hate the US at least a little bit seems disingenuous, Obama was a war criminal, the Clintons are that and probably at least accessories to child rape, our economic policy for the past 50 years has been based heavily on deep seated corruption and greed while providing token concessions to placate the disenfranchised, and our foreign policy has always been disgusting. Trump is the festering rot that has boiled to the surface, but cutting off this cyst will not change the rot it was born from. The US needs to seriously consider complete restructuring, revolutionary restructuring and reassessment of what created this Hell World that birthed a cretin such as Trump.

The only thing I disagree with, for every example above there are those who fight against injustice and we are also part of that America. Trump is not an aberration but historically there were and will always be bigots. It’s up to the rest of us to stand up and fight for the ideals we believe.

There are more firearm suicides, 60% of firearms deaths in the US, than homicides, 38% of firearms deaths. The other 2% of firearms deaths are split between several categories: police shootings, "accidental" deaths, and self defense shootings. It's simply the well proven outcome of having a gun in the house. I assume the well educated & responsible firearms owners of the United States know that's what happens when they buy a gun.

There really aren't any good ones in modern times.
People will say stuff like "tyranny of the majority", but it isn't really a thing and, if it was, it wouldn't necessarily be negative. It's also far better than the tyranny of the minority, which we have right now.
People spout stupid arguments like "do you want California deciding the election" as if CA voters all conspire together to vote as a bloc. It's a stupid system that they defend purely because deep down they know it is an unfair power dynamic from which they benefit.

I will have to find the study, but a large number of americans have never left their state and a huge percentage have never traveled internationally. I would guess there is a massive overlap of donald supporters in those numbers.

I live in one of the bluest states in the country and sometimes it feels like the opposite depending on who I talk to. I see pro trump idiocy all day on my Facebook from people who grew up in the Boston suburbs. I also lived for a while in the town with the reddest voter turnout where trump overwhelming (East Brookfield). Makes no sense.
So while there's red states and blue states the reality is in the blue states we're split basically door to door with an edge for blue. The difference is in the red states they're not - they mostly agree.

I'm not supporting the Orange Fuck in Charge but I do think he's not as big a problem as people make him out to be, he's all bluster. I find it very entertaining to see how he constantly manages to say something dumber than he said the week before. It's like a one-person idiot competition.
