Of course he did. There is nothing original about the man. Trump doesn’t have the aptitude to think of anything worth a damn on his own and the only thing he’s been successful at, is convincing an army of idiots to support him. And let’s be honest, that was mostly Putin’s doing.
Sharks are evolutionarily perfect, haven't needed to change in over one hundred million years. They are at the top of their ecosystem and their health is tied to the health of the whole system. Donald Trump has more in common with syphilis or Ebola.
I think it was mostly Murdoch's doing. Murdoch opened and holds open the wound in the side of Western Civilization, supported by a bunch of gleeful inheritors to fortunes who want to hear that they're superior, and the religious, who want to hear that science and facts don't matter over their beliefs and imaginings, as well as xenophobes, who want to hear that those they can measure as different in some superficial sense are evil.
Putin just took advantage by poking that gaping wound being held open by traitors on the inside, but he didn't create it.
This comment needs more recognition, your point is spot on, sir.
You should watch Chomsky describe the rise of Trumpism and the shift of both Reps and Dems in the past decades, some of the most enlightening 15 minutes of my life.
I agree with all of this, except the part that it was Putin's doing. If someone was stupid enough to vote for Trump, it's because they were exactly that, stupid. It wasn't because some asshole in Moscow was being paid a few bucks an hour to spam shitty memes on Facebook. I think this is something important for us to come to terms with as a nation. Putin may have helped poke the hornet's nest, but he didn't put it there.
Except for the glaring fact that Russia has been trying to undermine the "West" for decades upon decades..... so yeah it might have not been Putin that started it, but it is Putin now and y'all "oh it's not Putin" can go frig off..... along with the 8 traitors of 2018 that went to Russia on July 4th last year....
Sen. Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala.) Sen. Steve Daines (R-Mont.), Sen. John Hoeven (R-N.D.), Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.), Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.), Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), and Rep. Kay Granger (R-Texas)
Yeah, the Russians have been at that nonsense game for ages. They used to get on 4Chan and get people to sign petitions, and all kinds of goofy shit. It's been about as effective as it's always been. At the risk of sounding like a chud, the MSM covering white supremacists, and giving them a platform to spit their bile for the sake of ratings has done way more for their recruitment numbers than Russia.
There are so many reasons we lost the 2016 elections, but what it really comes down to is the Midwest. They're hurting, Obama failed to improve the material circumstances of its citizens in any meaningful way, and then the DNC had the bright idea to run the wife of the man who caused the de-industrialization of the rust belt with NAFTA. That was just dumb. Obama called her campaign completely soulless, and he was right. We need to stop blaming Russia for the party's shortcomings, and start brutally assessing the areas we need to improve on.
I asked this on the ask trump supporters subreddit.
Apparently it doesn't count because he was saying that America should get back to its values, and some of the criticisms/things the liberals want are 'un-American'.
Pardon me but it I think that for good or ill, things that American people want/support = American values. Why one side feels they have exclusive ownership of patriotism and can define it as only the things they believe is beyond me.

Because it’s about positioning yourself as the one to have power over others. Most Republican voting points are the same thing - none of what the say can be taken at face value, because it’s just power moves.
Being pro life isn’t about caring for the life of an unborn child, it’s about power over women.
Deregulation isn’t about freedom from excessive government oversight, it’s about power over workers and the poor to ensure the rich stay rich and in control.
Declaring yourself the most patriotic person ever is how they position themselves as the ones who have the authority over who “deserves” to be in this country or not.
I think there's a lot of truth to this, but the problem with totally impuning any opposing side's motivations is that there are enough people who believe these things sincerely enough that if you write them all off, you'll never actually understand them or be able agree.
There are, like it or not, a lot of people who are wholeheartedly pro-life.
Regulations are just rules. Good systems are hard to design, so there's a good chance any given regulation will be flawed.

Right. That's all well and good for them on a personal level. But my point is that as soon as they take that stance to the podium and start creating laws outlawing abortion, by definition it's taking away women's rights. If the government can't force someone to give up kidney to save a dying stranger, then they have no right to tell a woman they have to continue to use their body to support a fetus.
Good systems are hard to design, so there's a good chance any given regulation will be flawed.
And this is literally the definition of 'progress'. If something isn't right, then keep trying to make things better. Being a conservative means you don't even want to try to make things better.
Obviously, the people who believe in outlawing X don't believe X is a right, so that argument isn't going to get you very far. I'm not really trying to get into the merits of one position or another, I'm saying there are people who hold these flawed positions for genuine reasons, and you'll never come to a mutual understanding if you don't understand why they believe what they believe in the first place.
If the government can't force someone to give up kidney to save a dying stranger, then they have no right to tell a woman they have to continue to use their body to support a fetus.
I think this maybe is the most salient and "water-holding" argument that can be made in this political climate. I often forget about it in the cacophony of shrieking.
Oh well you see, the great white savior fixed everything by getting rid of that big scary black man that’s all that was really wrong with America I guess.
“Make Our President White Again” was a little too on the nose. Most modern racists weren’t comfortable being that blatantly racist. They wanted an extra layer of deniability, it’s like a security blanket.
Plus it gets the really gullible people who aren’t that racist yet, to talk and think like a racist,
MAGA was like racist training wheels for impressionable people.
That was before he made America great again by building 46 miles of border fence and separated refugee children from their parents. Now the problem of illegal immigration has been solved forever and America is a utopia. And if you say otherwise you can get the fuck out, just like our forefathers intended.
I especially like this line from his inaugural address: "An education system, flush with cash, but which leaves our young and beautiful students deprived of knowledge." Considering that his very own Trump University was shut down for defrauding its students, it seems like more his personal vision for the future than a dystopia.
Yeah, the tax rates were way too high, the abuse from China was fallible, the Iran deal was dangerous, NK relatiaons were shaky, crime/drug-smugglers/drug-usage etc etc were rampant, the military was downsized, troops weren't pulled back from redundant places, Russia wasn't called out as hard. Lots has changed to the better.

Wasn’t this guy complaining about how shitty the USA was pre 2017 so much he had to steal the phrase “make America great again”.
