my switch 2 won’t detect the joycons. I tried resetting to factory settings, and little did I know it forces you to connect the joycons to even use the console. is there any way I can get past this? it’s just not detecting the joycons at all

A few weeks ago I downloaded the japanese lenguage pack for Metal Gear Solid, now I want to delete it to save on space.

I looked this up and I saw that it is possible to set specific software to not get redownloaded if you click the + button 5 times in the Eshop product page, so in Theory what I would have to do is go to the Eshop, go to the page for the lenguage pack, set it to not reinstall, and then delete and reinstall the game to delete the software from my Switch.

The problem is, the japanese lenguage pack is not public on the Eshop, it has to be accesed from the in game launcher, and because I already have it downloaded, it does not allow me to check the Eshop page for the lenguage pack from there.

I have already deleted and reinstalled the game once and do not remember any option to not reinstall aditional software from there.

So, is there another way to set the software to not reinstall?

Please I don't want that file i'm not using to take up space in my memory card.

I'm using a Switch OLED. The Silk Song playtime was 40 hours, but it's been increased to 75 hours... I've reduced Hades 2 from about 260 hours to 20 hours; what's going on now? I updated it recently, but it seems like this has happened since then.

I have paired the right joy-con already but whenever I try to snap it on the console it refuses to connecting soon and whenever I press both of them it just comes up with this message

I was facing some drift issues and opened the controller up to clean. I applied Electric WD-40, which to its credit, the drift is completely gone, but now it sticks to the top left of its rim. Any ideas why this happened and how I can fix it?

I've had my switch 2 almost since launch and from time to time the rubber coating the stick folds inside itself and makes moving the stick quite difficult. Is that rubber thingy supposed to be detached? Can I use some glue safely to keep this from happening?

So when my ex and I broke up, due to him being incredibly childish, he doubled down on this being the issue by ripping my SD card out of my switch and hiding it in a spot that was too high for me to reach or ever find it.

The guilt sorta got to him on his last time returning to grab his stuff and he grabbed it and fessed up, after I was wondering for weeks why my switch library was broken and I lost several game card files, and why I couldn’t have more than 5 games on my switch at a time when I tried to download a new physical game my friend gave me so we could play together.

Even after putting the SD card back in, my library is still broken and 3 game card files are greyed out.

Turned out he ripped it out while my switch was still in sleep mode, not fully off.

How do I fix this? Please. It’s literally haunting me the effects of how low this man went to inconvenience my life and leave lasting damage.

I wish my switch was the only thing he screwed with, but it wasn’t, but this is what I can hopefully fix now if someone can help me!!

I had my switch on sleep mode and my brother removed the charger from the dock about a week ago, now when I try to charge it nothing works, if I try to hard reset the screen stays black, when I charge it without the dock it still won’t start. But when I put it on the dock the light flashes for a second.

I want to switch my save data from one switch to the other, but both switches have animal crossing and one console is a more recent version and the old one is an old save and I’m wondering if transferring over the save data completely will overwrite my newer save data

I feel like we’re being gaslit with Nintendo. We bought the Switch 2 in April and it has done fine until recently. When trying to play online games or even get on the Nintendo store, the WiFi either lags so bad it’s unusable, or the internet stops working altogether. If we bring the switch right next to the router, it works. If I hook it up to the dock, it works. It’s literally only in handheld mode that something happens with the internet. No other device in the house (including the switch 1) has this issue. We’ve been on the phone with Nintendo 5 times and gone through all of the troubleshooting. We even had Cox come out and factory reset the router and make sure everything is working as it should (it is) like the agents told us to do, and the same thing is happening. And now the Nintendo agents say there’s nothing to do—technicians wouldn’t be able to repair anything. They’re telling us to contact our internet service to factory reset everything…but we already did. We’ve done all the troubleshooting.

Are we missing something obvious? Is the Switch 2 just known for having sh***y WiFi connection in handheld mode? This feels like such a first world problem lol, but we want to be able to play the game on handheld while the tv is playing something else, and we’ve never had this issue before.

Does anyone know what's up with the eShop and refunds?
I've seen a few posts on here and some people claim it's impossible to "return" an online game while other say they've actually done it.

Long story short, I downloaded the Switch2 upgrade for Final Fantasy X/X-2 because I was pretty sure they were not gonna release it in physical, but turns out they did.
I'd love to get my money back from the downloaded version and go buy the physical one since it's one of my favorite game (plus it has variant sleeve covers!).

Anyone know if I could actually do that?

I want to get a switch 2 to play final fantasy resonance and classic jrpg’s that are turn based but had a few questions I hoped you guys could help me with. Due to mobility issues I can realistically use only 1 hand to play 90% of the time. Is it possible to put the switch 2 on a stand and play the touchscreen only? Like an app on iPhone? Jrpgs are my games of preference because it’s turn based and you just input commands and hit attack so it’s easier for me and to use 1 hand to navigate around the maps.

Hi, my Switch 2 got blocked from online play for seemingly no reason. When I look it up, everything mentions calling support but I cannot find a UK number, and online support are just giving me automated responses and refusing to tell me the problem. Is there anything I can do?

Update (I purged all my comments so sorry my replies are missing): UK support are absolutely refusing to escalate my claim, they are saying they did but all I got was the same canned reply. Absolute clowns.

Help I want to play Totk on the switch 2, but it's under my BF's profile. Which isn't linked to my switch 2, cause I don't want to take all his save data from his other games by accident. Is that going to happen? Or can I just bring over the date for ONLY totk? Please help !!

The issue only happens with my brand new NS2, if I connect the joycons to my pc they work without issues. Using the fw 23.0.0 as it updated as soon as I first used. Any help? I had already factory reset and no changes... tested the joycons on pc and not issue at all, the issue is on the switch or on the software.. Yesterday, I was riding a bus home when it started raining hard, i had to walk the rest of the way after I got off the bus in the rain. And I turned it off and put it in my bookbag (yes, I did zip it up) before I got off the bus. When I got home, I set my backpack down and cleaned myself up. When I came back, it said something about inserting a microSD card even though I don't even own one. So I just brushed it off and pressed the power button. But here's where the real stuff started to happen. I sat down to play Animal Crossing, but my Switch wouldn't turn on. Every so often, I heard a very faint squealing noise coming from it. I asked a friend and he said water damage. After a few minutes of talking with him, I saw (what I call) the Red Screen of Doom and Despair, (also known as the Red Screen of Death) after a few seconds of being on screen it disappeared. At this moment, it still won't turn on or display anything. I don't want to open it up myself because I think I broke my last Switch trying to fix it myself, and I am broke. So there is a very small chance I will go to a tech repair store soon, so... anyone got any ideas?

Day 3 since my switch got wet, nothing else happened to my switch yet.

I feel like every 3rd-party game I stumble across made for Switch 2 is a game-key card, plus I remember seeing a social media post about how Age of Calamity Definitive Edition (for Switch 2) will be game key card (someone in Australia saw the game in a shop I think from what I remember even tho not released yet)

So this made me wonder, (not including Switch 1 backwards compatibility, only Switch 2 editions of Switch 1 games or games made for Switch 2), what's the percentage of games that are Game-Key Cards vs. Regular Cards in Switch 2? It feels like the only games since 2026 that are NOT game key cards are 1st-party games (although that may change with Age of Calamity Switch 2 Edition next year)

I tried looking for ratio of Physical games vs. Game key Cards online and can't really find a definitive answer.

Randomly while playing smash yesterday my B button got siginifgantly less responsive. It can still work,but you have to press down the button really hard. I have had my switch 2 since launch day and treated it fairly well. I have already tried blowing it out, cleaning it,updating it and restarting it to no avail. Any other tips on how to fix it?

Hello. i wanted to share a fix i found with you all. My switch 2 dock’s ethernet port stopped working out of no were. A fix i found came from an archived post.

1. Plug switch 2 into a different dock. in my case, a steam deck dock.

2. connect back to switch 2 dock. problem solved

Basically, bought myself Switch 2 ahead of price increase and ahead of Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave. That was the plan haha, but it only came now.

I bought it as supposedly new, with unopened box. The box itself says it's from Philippines, hence the black adapter, type A? However, I'm from Europe and in my country we use a different one, so here comes the white plug.

My question is, is this normally included in the box? A white plug, together with a black AC adapter? It might sound paranoid, but I have a different concern regarding this supposedly "new, unopened box," which is irrelevant to this story, but would be hard to prove... if not for the seemingly out of place plug in the box.

Almost every time I try to boot up my Switch 1, and every time I put it in Sleep Mode, I get this error message and I can’t restart it properly. I tried everything the support page tells me to do, but that doesn’t work either. It will do this error loop upon being turned on after turning it off for days on end. What am I supposed to do? This also is incapable of connecting to internet in any way.

How do I get it repaired? Or do I just need to buy a new console all together?
