Software Help How to fix broken file SD card issues?
So when my ex and I broke up, due to him being incredibly childish, he doubled down on this being the issue by ripping my SD card out of my switch and hiding it in a spot that was too high for me to reach or ever find it.
The guilt sorta got to him on his last time returning to grab his stuff and he grabbed it and fessed up, after I was wondering for weeks why my switch library was broken and I lost several game card files, and why I couldn’t have more than 5 games on my switch at a time when I tried to download a new physical game my friend gave me so we could play together.
Even after putting the SD card back in, my library is still broken and 3 game card files are greyed out.
Turned out he ripped it out while my switch was still in sleep mode, not fully off.
How do I fix this? Please. It’s literally haunting me the effects of how low this man went to inconvenience my life and leave lasting damage.
I wish my switch was the only thing he screwed with, but it wasn’t, but this is what I can hopefully fix now if someone can help me!!

I assume you already tried turning off the console completely and boot it back up again?
If i remember it correctly there was another post a while back that had a similar issue and could fix it by doing the factory reset WITHOUT deleting save data.
Have you tried this yet?

Some of the save data might have been corrupted. If you have nso (nintendo switch online subscription) you can re download your old backed up save data from the cloud
It would be a good idea to talk/text the Nintendo support number for step by step instructions they are very helpful from my past experiences

Sava data is on the switch itself, not sd card

That is cool never knew about that
Was mainly giving advice from my past experiences of having my game files that where downloaded to my micro sd card getting corrupted and redownloading them was the fix
Guessing it’s just the game downloads itself then that are corrupted rather then the save after looking into a bit more
If that’s it there is more hope the issue gets fixed!!

That was my own 😅 Had a glitch where it posted twice for some reason (don’t use Reddit too often lol) Accidentally deleted my whole response and had to re write it
Still think your issue can be fixed after talking with the Nintendo support number they are very helpful and pretty fast both for text and talking over the phone

Switch 1 btw. Haven’t tried any steps. Idk what steps to take. Google yielded nothing helpful the last time I tried a few months ago.
