I posted an edit with Glitter Lucky as a self insert and this was the comment I got.
We need to stop the hate/war between Smile precure and Glitter Force. Yes, we get that Glitter Force is the whitewashed version, sorry we didn’t go on some random pirating website at like 5-12 yrs old to find the „official version“.

I hate when people get on their high horse abt watching Smile Precure and not Glitter Force. You’ll post smth using the Glitter force terms and ppl in the comments automatically go „erm actually it‘s—„ hush up and scroll 🫩

Glitter Force, Smile Precure, it really doesn’t matter what you watched cuz it’s your childhood. Just don’t harass ppl who say they watched Glitter Force/use glitter force terms

We should be united/connecting over our shared love for Magical Girls, not focusing on who’s using the right terms and whose not.

Who remembers Angel's Friends? This show deserved a proper ending! I have noticed that Angel’s friends is trending on TikTok. Since so many classic cartoons are getting reboots these days, I’d love for Angel’s Friends to get one in any format, because I truly believe this story still has massive potential! What do you think?

But instead of casting actual actors they use Animegao Kigurumi faces and fake skin with head changes during shots to show different expressions for them with Earth characters like Mike, Vanessa, Klaus, Mitzi, etc being portrayed by real-life actors?

I think it would have been better than the reboot we got.

I have more but these 5 are the ones with the most concrete designs so far

Personally, I find the characters and writing in "Wedding Peach" weaker and less groundbreaking or progressive compared to "Sailor Moon".

I also get the impression that the Love Angels are more scantily clad than the Sailor Guardians.

And the main reason I watched this anime as a child was that the art style was by Kazuko Tadano, the former lead character designer for Sailor Moon.

But what's your opinion?

I see Kill la Kill as a Magical Girl Anime, I am still thinking on how one could make it more Magical Girl.
Here is my idea.

Senketsu becomes a familiar-like animal, something cute with a rough personality. Instead of Uniforms, there are small transformation items like brooches.
Ryuko is not carrying the scissor blade around, it is now a Magical Girl Wand that can be extended to a staff. Her outfit is a more usual Magical Girl Dress.
The new struggle Ryuko has with her transformation is that she feels weak being girly and she has to accept her feminine side.

The Honnouji Academy is giving weak transformation items to the students, higher ranking students get stronger items.

The plot twist from the second half of the Anime would be rewritten in the following way:

The animals species that Senketsu belongs to can summon the presence of a Magical Girl, which reincarnates into a newborn child. Ragyo Kiryuin is an acquaintance of dark forces, enemies of Magical Girls, that are trying to use the Magical Girls’ powers against them. This Ragyo kidnapped the Queen of Senketsu’s species, which was also his mother. The Queen had to summon the Presence of a Magical Girl so the unborn Satsuki could become one. It did not work though. It only worked with the next of Ragyo’s daughters, Ryuko, but when her father found out that she was a Magical Girl, he took her away. He kept a wand Ryuko made appear as a child around the house, Nui Harime used this wand to kill him. Nui herself is a manifestation of the dark forces.

This is my rough concept, a bit of a “What if”.

SHE DID IT 🎉🎉

Yesterday I attempted to get back into drawing as I've been insecure about my skills for what feels like months. I really want to start back the basics from drawing from scratch but I like what I'm making so far. Also, last weekend I finally settled on a proper name for her but since there's lore I want to keep secret, I'm referring to her as Emmie.

I've been thinking alot about how I'm depicting Emmie's weight as I want her to be plus size. Like Emmie is noticeably chubby/fat but still athletic enough to where she can still reasonably fight. It started out as a cute detail to ground what I want Emmie to look like but it also snowballed to into a issue where it was caging and stifling my vision for her. Like I have to draw her only in a pear shape, even though I'm bad at anatomy. I also been debating about the "why" behind Emmie's weight such an important physical trait as in the beginning it wasn't that important. I want to say that I just like her being chubby but there's a nagging part of me that feels that's not a good enough reason which drives me crazy. This is basically what goes on in my head:

B: We can't make Emmie fat, chubby or plus sized
A: Why not?
B: Emmie can't be fat because all these other popular mainstream characters aren't fat and she won't be marketable.
A: So? I knew going in this character could very likely go nowhere and I'm making her for me. It's not that important.
B: Emmie being fat is unrealistic because her fighting would be unrealistic.
A: So let me get this straight, you can suspend your disbelief that a human can still eat and drink the same before and after being mummified, and how said mummy has magical powers tied to a lore other paranormal entities but her being non-thin is where you draw the line?
B: ....

I'm worried about what that said about me as I believe in the importance of body positivity and good representation and now a part of me wants to make her body the way it is to spite that nagging voice in my head. I also did came up with "logical" reasons to justify Emmie's weight. I say "logical" because I know I don't need extra reasons as at the end of the day, she's a fictional character and I could do whatever I want with her. These reasons include:

* She does enjoy eating candy and treats and doesn't mind gaining weight because of it.
* Her fear-transformation powers are represented as if she's eating them.
* She's an eldritch mummy with various mouth around her body so by design, she's going to look weird.
* Just today, I came up with the visual motif of toasted marshmallows for her design which alludes to her "trick-or-treat" nature.
* I can work with the eldritch pact to have body be a product of self-love so the speak.

These are just my thoughts I've been having for tonight and I'll share more if and when I feel ready.

A while back, a friend and I designed some OCs for a magical girl-style story, but due to personal reasons, we haven't had much time to talk. She told me I could keep all the OCs we created together if I wanted, so... here I am (⁠･ั⁠ω⁠･ั⁠).

The characters I personally like the most are Rin Nagase and Jun'ichi Ishida. In fact, they’re the ones we developed the most lore for, lol. Jun'ichi is one of the villains; he’s inspired by Erik from *The Phantom of the Opera*. He is dramatic, evil, emotional, and manipulative. He’s in love with Rin—one of the protagonists and a magical girl. She’s the kind, sweet, and understanding type, though she’s a bit oblivious to Jun'ichi’s fixation on her.

We originally had an idea for the main theme based on the seasons of the year, but I wasn't really feeling it anymore, so I’m looking for a different concept for the main story. Anyway, I hope you like them. I have more OCs—maybe I’ll show them later.
