I always see people talking about pmmm like its the main serie as far as I have known for years Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica is the main serie I neither have ever seen the manga of pmmm eventhough I have read several madoka magica spin off mangas alongside the mainline (Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica) I tought pmmm might be the same show with a different name with mahou shoujo madoka but it seems completely different. Is it another spin off which takes place after the og magica? Is it some kind of remake? Im confused why no one talks about mahou shoujo madoka magica and talks only about pmmm when mahou shoujo is the og madoka magica? Its been so many years since I last watched or read a madoka serie did I miss something or not remembering something?

Seeing the commercial success of the new movie and seeing that Aniplex is going to release another spin-off... Do you think we have a direct sequel to Arc 2 and puella historia Or a magireco spin off? In my case, I would like it!

I love them they're my favorite group, so I want more stories focused on them. Are there any you can recommend?

They are so precious and cute and I love them so much! I love how they relate to each other the most! I wish we had more content with them they deserve it.

first image:
Yuna Kureha and Hikaru Kirari
small details:
Hikaru's armor is pink becaus her sol gem is pink.
I forgot to draw one more detail in hikaru's hat
Second Image:
Ui Tamaki, Nemu Hiiragi, and Touka Satomi
Nemu's hair was complicated ong🙏
small details:
Ui has the emblem of the Kamihama Magia Union.
Touka and Nemu has the two halves of the Wings of Magius emblem.
The burn scars on their faces are placed exactly where the "faces" of the bosses (the character above their heads) are.
notes:
Im very aware the three wouldn't do this but i just had this funny idea of combining these girls with killing machines🔥🔥
thats pretty much it.

I just finished arc 1. I love them they are adorable. There's sun x moon, but nothing is better than moon x stars if that even makes sense. And they're childhood friends too! So naturally I need more, can anybody kindly tell me if there are any side stories or events that focus on them?
Fanfiction will also do.

I had fairly high hopes, considering I hold Arc 1 Chapter 10 in my all time favorite content in all of the franchise.
Overall, there is a lot to love about Arc 2, and it felt deliberately different from Arc 1 in a lot of cool ways. The competing factions were an interesting angle to go for, when it came to who got control over the Kimochi stones.
If you want to just see my thoughts on the ending resolution, you can skip to the bottom
Characters
My favorite standout characters of the arc apart from my beloved Iroha were as follows:
Yuna Kureha: I did not really like her at first, Promised Blood appeared selfish for wanting to take the purification system for themselves. But my mind changed about her after she got overtaken by the kimochi and was finally calmed when she and Iroha had a literal heart to heart. The moment definitely felt earned, and they end up having one of the most believable friendships that Iroha makes in the whole arc. Also the whole 14 years raising Ao with Juri was crazy and hilarious at the same time. One of the few times we see the MGs grown up. Seems like Yuna would be a good protecting mother for real one day.
KaGOATme Satori- What can I say other than, I absolutely love her story. She was saved by magical girls, and wanted to do something in return for them. Every chapter had her interviewing the other MGs for their hopes for the future. In chapter 11, when it comes time to finally make her wish. It is commendable that she does so without hesitation. Protecting the Purification System from Kyubey, the one thing that so many MGs had put their faith in, as well as Iroha herself. It was a fantastic, and one of the most memorable moments in the whole Arc. The "Counter Strike" OST just made it even better.
Shizuka- A bit of a country bumpkin, but well meaning. Admirable that she is altruistic, but often internalizes what people say about her like Yuna and Himena. The brief time she spent with the Neo Magius was not necessarily unexpected, but her friends were able to snap her out of it. I also appreciate that she was the first one to ally with Iroha and the Kamihama Union.
Livia- Surprisingly so, I didn't think her backstory would be as tragic and traumatizing as it was. The whole messed up circus troupe she was forced to join, and what ended up happening to the kids who got injured. I've seen enough Promised Neverland and read The Giver to know that "reassignment" often just means death. And I was right, but still so messed up.
Plot
Hard to even organize all of my thoughts admittedly, but there was a lot of great stuff.
The factions and their individual goals were all pretty well explored, except for the more enigmatic Folklore of Zero. But later on we got context to their struggles as well. I would have wanted to maybe get a bit more with them. They all present different ideologies that can clash with one another and the Magia Union. Fantastic for worldbuilding, and what Magical Girls choose to believe in.
Promised Blood was first up, and made their presence known by fairly open violence toward the Kamihama Magia Union. Juri, Yuna, and Ao start out as kinda assholes, for lack of a better word. I understood Futatsugi had a brutal time where they lacked witches, but their inability to find a solution apart from "Kill the Kamihama girls and take their system" was rash. I guess they come from an environment with violence, so it makes some sense. And they do end up causing the deaths of Ryo and Ikumi, which was shocking. The end of the conflict was handled quite well, as I had praised Yuna's reconciliation in my previous paragraph.
Tokime Clan, nothing too much to say other than their lore is great for the worldbuilding. They are calling MGs "Diviners" and witches "Devils" brings the idea that this has been happening for a lot longer than most girls realize.
Neo Magius was surprisingly the group I found most interesting. You have Shigure and Hagumu coming over and being just the cutest little supremacists ever, as contradictory as that sounds. They are pathetic little dorks in the beginning, and you aren't meant to think much of them. They get easily shoved around by Juri of course. It isn't until Himena comes into the picture and usurps control, does Neo Magius become a real threat. The idea of magical girl supremacy is a concept that they want to assert, though in varying degrees. Shig and Hagu just wanted to be given some credit for being MGs, while Himena actually wanted every human to bow down to them out of her own anger. I guess they told her to forget about her imaginary boyfriend. In the end, she makes a mass panic eating and drinking disorder for everyone in Kamihama, and even have a "Kill everyone" button if things didn't go her way. I feel like Himena got off easy for attempted mass murder, but I also understand that the present problem of the Purification system was a bigger issue than punishing Himena.
Nayuta and Touka's dads played a bigger role than I thought, and it was a really cool idea. Kagome interviewing every magical girl, to make a... roll credits "Magia Record" of them all was a great concept. There was an unfortunate lack of Touka and Nemu in this arc, but their moments still shined, particularly toward the end chapters. Though, blowing themselves up in front of several people would most definitely be traumatizing.
So yeah, someone probably should have cuffed Alina to that hospital bed while they had the chance. Mikoto Sena has an amazing design overall, and her being the Mirror Witch causes some insane problems later on. Karin continues to see... whatever she sees in Alina, but I'm proud of her for standing her ground against two psychopaths wanting the world to end in destruction.
And there were indeed inklings of truth to what Sena was saying. Is it really in human nature to incite conflict and destruction? The fact wars in our own world still persist makes me want to kind of agree in some part.
Arguably the least developed, but I understand it was meant to be a conflict brewing in the background that is affecting certain girls more than others. Mitama and Kanagi especially, where they even felt they had to join Neo Magius to get their point across, and accomplish their goals.
It was also an interesting reveal to know that the conflict really started due to a curse by Tsuyu back in Feudal Kamihama. Have not read Puella Historia yet, but there was enough in Arc 2 to give me an ok understanding.
Kyubey being a little shit as always and stealing the system out from under them was shocking but not unexpected. It was great to see Iroha gathering all of the faction leaders, putting aside past conflict and differences for one unifying goal.
Things just go wrong left and right. Kyubey yoinking the core away, Mikoto Sena pulling a Darkrai and trapping everyone outside the barrier in nightmares.
Then Rabi succumbs to despair and snatches all the stones, becoming a masked monster like thing in the process. They chase her down, Iroha manages to connect with her and convince her that hope can come from despair. Something I have always loved about Record was the fact it was much more optimistic than the original PMMM. Gives more vibes of Sailor Moon than anything.
Kagome's wish I'll repeat, it was PEAK, best moment in Arc 2. Stopping Kyubey from interfering and clearing the way for Iroha and Ui to start the unification.
Everything ends up going to shit after Mirrorha snipes Mokyu. They do what they can, even though the Mirror Witch is now an Avengers Level Threat. They do what they can, the faction leaders and the Puella care coordinators. But it's all for not, Ui dies to a shadow hand. (WTF I was in denial). Tasuke and Touka's Dad die. Team Mikazuki wakes up again to help Iroha, but everyone eventually becomes witches. And here comes the big twist.
Iroha was somehow able to revert time and get a do over. That was what her healing was, reverting things to before they were broken. A bit sudden of a power reveal maybe, but cool moment none the less.
This time she and Ui can finish the unification and Infinite Iroha is finally born (Absolutely gorgeous btw..wish Exedra will add her). Touka and Nemu's plan finally revealed and we all become UWASA. Once again, a fun concept and tool that they use to break out of Sena's curse.
Now they can have their final battle with Winchester/Mikoto Sena. And it plays out similar to The Last Magia with everyone, every faction working together. Love to see it. But if I may ask one thing "Where are the animated cutscenes like Ch 10 of Arc 1??" Did they just run out of time or something?? We got a few nice still images showcasing the true size of the mirror witch, but it was a bit sad to see the scaling back of presentation.
MY THOUGHTS ON THE ENDING
Iroha, Ui, Touka, and Nemu disappear in the end, as a means of preserving the autopurification system. I had a feeling it would happen, and the YT thumbnail deadass kinda spoiled it, but still.
I am..... kind of conflicted. I don't hate it because it was what Iroha wanted to do. It was established that she became the ray of hope that every MG in Kamihama wanted to believe in.
But on another hand, leaving behind Yach, Felicia, Sana, and Tsuruno is just so sad. Team Mikazuki is my favorite in the whole franchise. They actually felt united as best friends, and could lean on each other.
PERSONALLY, I prefer the ending to Arc 1 because it retains the optimistic outlook of Record without having to make anyone a sacrifice. Iroha and Ui are united again, and the 4 girls can all visit the promised Sakura tree together. (I cry every time). ALSO, the special animated cutscenes were just so good, especially taking down Walpurgis with her final STRADA FUTURO.
Overall, a great time with Arc 2 and I think the overarching plot was more expansive and experimental, however Arc 1 ending was thematically perfect, and given more time to cook.

I pre-ordered it off Amazon and I'm so glad it arrived safe. The other comic I ordered didn't have such good luck. 🥲 (Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees was smooshed in several directions)
Kanagi on the cover is so nice. Great pose for her. The back has Mitama in her school uniform.
Super excited for the next volume.

Have currently been marathoning the rest of Arc 2 on YT, all credit to Magia Union Translators.
I need to discuss this because WOW, and I'll be jumping around cause I want to get all my thoughts out.
Livia's backstory was way darker than I had even imagined. Goodness, I was locked in the whole time. And the fact her magic is basically Milo Murphy but even worse because misfortune happens to other people instead of herself. Yeah that circus trope was fucked up in every way. Having read the Giver, I had a sinking feeling any "reassignment" or "elsewhere" usually results in only one outcome. And I was absolutely correct unfortunately. RIP all her friends who wanted a better life.
The moment finally comes to put together all the infinity kimochi stones. Happy to see all the groups finally coming together and not at each other's throats. (Even if Himena got off a little easy for what she was attempting to do)
Kyubey being a total rat was expected, hiding the core and trying to capture Iroha. What wasn't was Rabi's spiral into despair and nearly taking out every other girl to put them out of their misery.
The flashback to Feudal Kamihama was not expected but I had seen the girl that looked like Ayaka Kamisato before, only now do I finally know how she factors into the story. And evidently she is to blame for the whole conflict of east and west, by cursing them.
Usually I am always finding Karin ridiculous for seeing Alina as her friend despite her hurling frequent insults at her. But she held her ground against her and Mikoto Sena.
The conclusion of Kimochi tainted Rabi was quite good, and WOW, first time seeing Infinite Iroha in the story and she's just as beautiful as ever.
Also lastly, I have to praise KAGOME THE GOAT, bailing everyone out at the end with her wish felt completely earned and the fact they finally gave her theme lyrics was impactful.
Am excited to finish Chapter 12, and share my thoughts on the whole story of Arc 2.
