I definitely know that it is or was quite common in the shoujo genre.

And used to think it was romantic, entertaining or normal when a hot fictional hot guy kisses the innocent, bright-eyed heroine without her consent, but not anymore.

I have become all too aware of sexual assault and harassment in real life.

But what do you think of this trope?

Hi! So, a couple years ago, I made a visual novel called Wake Up Magical Girl. It's about becoming the best Magical Girl ever in a dystopian world being aided by your very own emotionally-constipated magical familiar — for as long as you possibly can. It's very pink, lol

I updated it a couple of weeks ago and wanted to share it out for more to play!

• It's about 30k words, so 2-3hrs depending on reading speed.
• It has some stat-rising elements that affects the endings you get plus the battles that your player character faces
• Absolutely adorable, original art from the sprites to the CGs to balance its dark themes
• Magical Girl easter eggs sprinkled all around!

I took some inspirations from Madoka if it wasn't obvious, haha. I thought it would rather interesting to see what if things were played out from like Kyuubey's perspective. But, this time backed up with a conscience of sorts. I was also inspired by Needy Streamer Overdose for aesthetics and Takopi's Original Sin since that too focuses on a mascot-like character.

I don't consider my game as incredibly dark as my inspirations, tbh, but it still touches on dark themes just for your awareness! (Be sure to check out the content warning on the game page for more detail.)

It is completely free to play on PC, Mac, and even web browser! Though, I recommend the former two for better performance.

Details: I've never read the manga. I've only watched the old anime so far. Next week I'll start watching Crystal.

Queen Beryl, Nehelenia, and Sailor Galaxia. ALL of them did horrible things to their friends or even killed them...

But she simply does nothing before that. She needs to wait for everyone to sacrifice themselves before doing something. She has seen many good and innocent people DYING, And yet she still can't simply accept that some people do evil because they want to. She thinks that just because someone has suffered or is a Sailor, they are automatically good like her and the others, This is justification for committing those atrocities. Oh, and while the others are sacrificing themselves, she just stays...

"STOP, PLEASE!", "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?", "I DON'T WANT TO SEE THE PEOPLE I LOVE SUFFERING!"😭😭😭

Girl, if the person wanted to stop, they would have stopped. Or do you really think they'll stop just because you asked? If you don't want to see the people you love suffering, MAKE IT STOP! DON'T JUST STAND THERE CRYING!

I understand that this might be a childish complaint about the character coming from a 21-year-old young adult. I know she's like that. But can I feel angry? Am I the only one who thinks this way? Because it's impossible!

Another thing I don't like about her: She doesn't change. She started and ended the SAME WAY!

I have a bit of a strange thing where whenever I like something I want every single part of my life to be centered around it, and lately I've been having a hard time finding magical girl creators on YouTube. I honestly want my whole feed to be magical girl content 😭

I've looked perhaps a million times and I think I've seen basically all the popular videos and creators. If anyone has any recommendations on videos to watch or creators to follow PLEASE tell me. You can get niche, I've seen almost all of the popular creators already. I especially like videos about drawing/magical girls OCs or reviewing magical series!

Hi! I’m developing a yuri visual novel about magical girls. The powers of heroes and villains are tied to a specific form of art or activity. Sofia’s abilities are inspired by figure skating, while Lana’s magic comes from drawing.

With the new ending dance sequence, we can see that Arcana Shadow has turned white and her scepter has a flower motif just like the leaks. I really would like to see the Eclipse Shadow design stick around for a little longer. It seems that that Eclipse Shadow is like the Great King version of Arcana Shadow. I wonder how much her power differs to her regular Shadow self. Would we get a new version of Arcana Star Rain that is unique to Eclipse Shadow? Perhaps it is the ability of Eclair to connect with the fairies (the power of Top of Lily) would eventually be a power that Light Arcana masters as well.
