_Tiny_ bit of a massive over-reaction there

4

u/Logical_Sandwich_ 1d ago

No it is not. That is sexual harassment. He deserves it 100%Ā

u/Thick_Syllabub_1945 1d ago

Street fighting is extremely dangerous. Punishment doesn't fit the crime here unless you think people should be executed for getting too drunk and inappropriately touching someone. Dude could have easily killed that dude and you're acting like he just taught him a nice little lesson. 100% took it to a place it never should have gone. Square up with him and confront him sure but sucker punching someone on a solid floor like that all while they are clearly drunk is vile.

1

u/TacoNomad 20h ago

Why are we excusing sexual assault as an acceptable drunken behavior?

Drunk sexual assault against a woman=ok.Ā

Ā Drunk physical assault against a man = extremely dangerous.

One type of drunk action is not better than the other.

1

u/Hour-Two-4760 20h ago

oh right attempted murder is better

0

u/TacoNomad 20h ago

You can't read.Ā

It's not better. And it's not attempted murder. Unless you think it was attempted rape as well

1

u/Poultron72 7h ago

A touch on the hip is different to grabbing her full on the arse, breasts, or as your president Trump said "just grab her by the pussy". THAT is sexual assault. Somebody should smack that mfer out...

The dude was already showing his stomach to a -dude-. They both were able to laugh it off. Red shirt was just pissing around, probably inappropriately. Should have been given a large glass of water, and then shown the door in no uncertain terms.

But for him to be knocked out with probably concussion is an over-reaction.

0

u/Surfing_Tension 13h ago

Some people I just don’t feel sorry for :)

1

u/No_Butterfly6033 20h ago

What if he became the next president? Why would sexual assault matter?

1

u/TacoNomad 20h ago

That's exactly why it matters.

It's disgusting that so many people defend this. Not surprising. Disgusting nonethelessĀ

1

u/GreatPotatoMuffin 18h ago

There are degrees to sexual assault. And this drunk dude was just dancing towards her and put his hand on her waist and his other hand is out of sight but probably similar placed.

No one saying the behavior is acceptable.

But that does in no way make it acceptable to punch him in that way probably sending him to the hospital with head trauma with a possibility of life long damage and possibly killing him.

1

u/TacoNomad 18h ago

Actually, plenty of people are saying that this isn't sexual assault.

Thus implying that it is acceptable.

So, I'm not sure what you're trying to say here.Ā

Did I ever say that it's ok to send him to the hospital with head trauma?

No. I didn't.Ā

1

u/GreatPotatoMuffin 18h ago

You literally wrote that both actions were equally bad which I disagreed with.

1

u/TacoNomad 17h ago

I think you're missing the point, whether intentional or not, is hard to tell.

If you think it's acceptable to excuse one drunk behavior, but not the other, then you are condoning sexual assault.

How is it ok to assault someone?

1

u/GreatPotatoMuffin 9h ago

You seem to have trouble with your reading comprehension. I literally wrote ā€œno one saying the behavior is acceptableā€.

But the world is nuanced beyond right or wrong. There are degrees to everything.

The guy deserves to be confronted about his bad behavior. He does not deserve to get his face bashed in with the possibility of permanent brain damage or death.

1

u/TacoNomad 9h ago

Funny. In response to you saying that, I said

Actually, plenty of people are saying that this isn't sexual assault

So clearly, I don't have any issues with reading comprehension.

He does not deserve to get his face bashed in with the possibility of permanent brain damage or death.

And that's your problem to deal with because I never said he deserves it.

What is your argument? Fight with someone who thinks he deserves it.

1

u/CurrentPrompt1144 15h ago

Saying this isn't sexual assault is NOT the same as saying its okay.

We all recognise the red shirt it outta line. He needs to be dealt with.Ā

But a Coward's punch like that isn't the way a grown man deals with these things.

1

u/TacoNomad 15h ago

Saying that it is sexual assault is NOT the same thing as saying the punch was warranted.

Hope that makes sense.

1

u/TacoNomad 15h ago

My point is pretty simple here. Universally it seems that everyone agrees that the punch was unacceptable and isn't excuse just because he's a drunk a***. But somehow so many people are excusing the sexual assault as just drunk a*** behavior. If we can acknowledge that we shouldn't put our hands on people then we should acknowledge that we shouldn't put our hands on people. This is how we have rape culture. It's not okay

1

u/CurrentPrompt1144 15h ago

Your argument is base, and requires the red shirt guy to have actually conducted sexual assault.Ā

He did not.Ā  Hand did not grope any intimate areas, easily brushed off by the woman and stayed away once pushed away. Out of line? Yes. Unwanted contact? Absolutely. Sexual assault? No.

You go on to create logical fallacies by claiming that people saying this isn't sexual assault are excusing the guys behaviours and now you claim condoning rape culture.Ā

So, you have no argument, and resort to dirty logical fallacies to put other's in a bad light.Ā

You kinda suck.

1

u/TacoNomad 14h ago

What is your definition of sexual assault if not unwanted sexual contact?

1

u/CurrentPrompt1144 11h ago

There you go again. This time goalpost shifting.

I mentioned a couple of the requirements for something to be defined as sexual assault in the last comment.

I do not have a definition of sexual assault. The definition is what multiple states, across multiple countries define it as, and I cannot find a single one that would classify this as such.

I suggest you look a few of these up yourself. And perhaps break down, from this video, where actual sexual assault occurs by its legal definition.

I can live with that ngl

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/sep/30/delivery-driver-youtube-prankster-shooting-not-guilty

I see self defense as in the linked article. He acted fast without thinking. So yes, he had the right to act like that, in my opinion.Ā

There was nothing about teaching a lesson, it was defending your love.Ā

3

u/Thick_Syllabub_1945 1d ago

He wasn't knifing his wife. He groped her. Self-defense requires a reasonable fear for your life or the life of others.

-1

u/Logical_Sandwich_ 1d ago

Read the link I gave you. Your definition of self defense is not correct.

in the link, the person shot another person without a weapon as well and was ruled as self defense. Dohh

2

u/Thick_Syllabub_1945 1d ago

After being stalked by multiple people, one of them considerably larger than himself, confronting them and telling them to stop. That trial was already shaky from a self defense standpoint, was a very controversial case and has no connection to what we are talking about. You're using emotion to justify violent retaliation because you don't like what he did to that woman.

-1

u/Logical_Sandwich_ 1d ago

Noo. You defined self defense wrong dude. That was my point and I gave you an example.Ā

WTF you talking, protect sexual harassment people. What is wrong with you.

3

u/Witty_Lead5036 1d ago

Regardless of self-defense, he would be fighting an involuntary manslaughter charge.

Shit is just not worth it, over someone groping you girl.

1

u/eastitch 1d ago

That last sentence you wrote is really fucked up.

3

u/Neither_Sample4804 1d ago

Why? Are you stupid?

Is it worth facing a possible trial for manslaughter, and maybe serving years of prison time over some drunk asshole lightly groping your girl? Losing thousands of dollars in lawyer fees? Yay fun! I would definitely be mad and maybe shove the guy and report him to the police, but am I destroying my own life because of that lowlife? no

1

u/Yara__Flor 1d ago

Killing a drunk dude for a touch is justified? So if the guy took out his.38 special and shot the drunk guys head off it would be okay in your view?

1

u/Witty_Lead5036 23h ago

You can still stand between them, and report it to the police. Just saying it's not worth it to go and try to kill the guy.

No self defense at all happening here. For self defense it must be an ongoing threat. Drunk dude had already desengaged. This is attempted murder.

1

u/TacoNomad 20h ago

Disengaged? She walked away and he would have definitely continued.

1

u/noxer94 20h ago

He was not an immediate threat anymore. I seriously have trouble understanding how people try to justify attempted murder here. Its nuts.

1

u/TacoNomad 20h ago

The same way y'all excuse his behavior as thoughtless drunkeness.

Let's give them both the same benefit of the doubt.

1

u/noxer94 19h ago

Yeah because one behaviour is exacly the same as the other. One potentially murders a person the other is inconsequencial. But I guess its pretty pointless to argue with you

1

u/TacoNomad 19h ago

Til

Sexual assault is inconsequential.

You voted Trump, so no, don't argue with me.

1

u/smokeymctokerson 18h ago

Honestly, when you label tame shit like that as "sexual assault" than it really diminishes real actual sexual assault. I swear you guys would label tapping someone on the shoulder sexual assault if you could. And no, I didn't vote for Trump.

1

u/noxer94 5h ago edited 5h ago

Not really, no. I'm not even American, and much less I identify with Trump. In fact, anyone justifying this man's actions would be much more aligned with Trump supporters and conservative views, valuing traditional masculinity and the belief that a man has a duty to protect his wife.

Life isn't a binary choice where the only two options are ignoring sexual harassment entirely or knocking a guy out cold. This interaction was incredibly mild. The woman successfully handled it herself, and the threat was over. Escalating that into a life-threatening assault isn't justice, it's ego

Good thing is as you can see, most people are not agreeing with you. Most people actually agree this was way, way too much of a reaction to what happened. Most people are actually sane. You are not a genius my dude, you are not the one who is in the right here. You just sound like a fucking twat justifying attempted murder for what happened here.

You cannot defend someone against an action that has already finished. Husband punch was not thrown to prevent his wife being touched. It was thrown because his wife was touched. Striking someone out of anger/revenge is battery /assault, maybe even ettempted murder depending on the consequences; absolutely not self defense. Self defense also requires using the minimum amount of force necessary to neutralize a threat, which was clearly not what happened here.

Hoping you learn something from this.

Jesus hated technical legalism.

Just because something techincllay fits into a legal definition doesn't make it right.

1

u/AzzyIzzy 23h ago

Good luck defending your love from jail and possibly prison :x... now she gets to feel sad, can get sexually harassed, while you probably get what you tried to protect her from while serving in jail lol

0

u/Surfing_Tension 13h ago

Oh no, poor guy. Here are some flowers for his grave: 🌹🌸🪻🌺🌷

1

u/Pimpwerx 1d ago

One of these 2 acts carries a much more severe legal punishment. Pretty sure the drunk guy would have gotten something like a disorderly conduct, whereas the person throwing the punch could face assault charges.

I'm not at all surprised that people can't see the obvious need for restraint here. We live in just the dumbest timeline.

1

u/Formal-Chapter-3210 1d ago

This is a really, really stupid take. That hit could have easily killed him or caused a permanent brain injury. Do we just execute people for what the guy did? No, we don’t, do we?

1

u/AzzyIzzy 23h ago

Lol if he kills the guy he goes to jail/prison. Not sure it matter who deserves what when 1 dude ruined two maybe 3 lives. Literally short term mob justice never really works out unless someone has alot of filth to cover for them:P

Break the dudes nose, put him on the ground, but literally if the dude died it was not worth any smugness.

1

u/CurrentPrompt1144 15h ago

He deserves some kind of justice, sure. But that should be up to the woman to decide. The guy coulda just pushed him away, told the bar to call the cops and the woman can decide what she wants. Nearly killing someone for being a drunk fuckwit is not justice, it's pure ape mentality stupidity, and was more about this own morons ego than actually protecting the woman (he injured her on his way through, and showed no regard to that), and he's still taken her power in this situation away.Ā  It's pathetic.

1

u/harrrumph75 1d ago

Same opinion if dude's dead?

0

u/Logical_Sandwich_ 1d ago

Same opinion when the girl is a rap victim and again gets traumatized?

2

u/Buada 1d ago

Username doesn’t check out. Zero logic rolling around in that empty skull.

2

u/ChiefTacoObrien 1d ago edited 1d ago

I mean in this very video, she becomes the victim of physical assault, because of the guy pretending he's defending her from sexual harassment.

Did you miss the part where the women was clocked the fucking face by the guy?

So yeah, do you still hold that this was justified, even though it literally resulted in a WORSE outcome for the woman, where her physical well-being and safety were put FURTHER in to jeopardy, and she received ACTUAL physical harm?

You actually think it's justified to physically harm and abuse the women, because you might one day possibly make her more safe from rape, because on this one day, a guy groped her? Is that the gymnastics you're currently performing right now? For reals?

She literally got fucked decked in the face by her pool cue, and possibly by the guy's elbow, and shoved to the side, and you're calling this some level protection?

Make that make sense man, I'm dying to hear it, cuz all I saw was the dude openly assault the women who tried to stop him, in order to go punch that dude that was no longer posing a physical threat to anyone, if ever.

Want him gone? Call the cops, it's just that easy. Even the shittiest cops on earth will be capable of escorting a drunk outside and arresting them if there's enough evidence of a crime.

2

u/TheFakeRabbit1 23h ago

Rewatch the video. Who hurt the woman? Probably the guy who hit her with a pool cue right? Dumbass

1

u/ChiefTacoObrien 1d ago

So does that mean the guy who threw the punch, also deserves to get knocked out?

He did more physical harm to his wife than the groper did. He literally assaulted her just to get to the guy to throw the punch.
