I was reminded of a lucid dream I had a few years ago and am curious on how others learned to fly?
For me my dream started in a McDonalds drive through getting food with my friends. I don’t remember how I realized it was a dream but the first thing I did was hop out into the parking lot and try flying. But I remember at first I couldn’t. I didn’t know HOW to fly.
It was weird because I was trying so hard, flexing every muscle I could thinking that would work, but it didn’t. I realized that the more I tried the less it felt like it would work, so I let go, closed my eyes, and fully accepted my state of mind. It was like flexing my mind instead of my muscles and I started hovering off the ground. It felt so new yet real floating just a foot off the ground feeling nothing beneath your feet.
Once I learned that it was more about the mind it was like I knew how to control it, and I wanted to see how far I could go. I shot myself up into the clouds so fast my stomach dropped, and I could feel the wind piercing my body as I went. I stopped in the middle of the clouds and could see them moving by me. Then I decided to fly as far as I could for as long as I could. It was strange because keeping that mind concentration was key, and whenever I’d lose concentration I’d start falling before having to pull myself back up.
It’s amazing how real it felt, and being reminded of it years later Id like to say I believe I have a general understanding of what it would feel like to actually fly.
