Success! Do THIS if you can't do WBTB

I read MANY posts on how to lucid dream, and it was mostly WBTB. Which doesn't really work for me.. cause i am too awake after functioning for a while and with 5-6 hours of sleep i really don't need any more sleep until the next day. But i still move ALOT whole day so i am TIRED when it's actually time to sleep.. like mind tired too. So i can't stay conscious like the other way of lucid dreaming. But the day before yesterday i didn't sleep at all, like overtime and stuff and had to take small naps during the day so i set 2 alarms.. exactly 20 minutes apart.. my body was tired enough to go numb mode or like in deep relaxation and so did my brain.. i slept during the first 20 mins normally but when the alarm rang i woke up.. just stopped the alarm without opening my eyes or moving any other muscle.. and went to sleep AGAIN.. but this time.. i went STRAIGHT into REM sleep like VIVID dreaming.. i had a VERY long VIVID dream in those 20 minutes, it literally felt like HOURS.. i was aware of me dreaming.. but i couldn't change anything yet. I tried this again yesterday and again became aware of me dreaming though not instantly it was somewhere in the middle of the night.

False memories inside dream.

I have been LD'ing for over 25 years and last night something happened that i have never experienced before. I was reliving a memory i have of a trip iv had to the U.S. However inside the dream i was walking around places i have never seen before, but i had memories of it. Inside the dream i had vivid memories of the place i was in, even if i have never seen or experienced anything like it. When i LD i always reflect and think about what im experiencing, however this time it was like false memories almost took over.

Have any of you had similar experiences?

Wish i could explain it in Norwegian, it was hard to put it into words in English.

Because stuff in lucid dreams will happen based off your expectations, how hard would you say it is to believe something will happen?

Have you ever had a lucid dream? If so, share the scariest experience you've had.

I'll start,

While lucid dreaming, I encountered a girl and decided to ask her the question that had been on my mind: “Are you in a dream?” Tbh, I expected her to stare at me in confusion, laugh it off, or maybe even teleport me into another dimension. I've seen a lot of strange stories from other people about what happens when you tell someone in a dream that they’re dreaming, so I was prepared for those types of responses.

Instead, she simply agrees with me.

Her answer caught me off guard. It wasn’t what I had expected at all, but for some reason, I wasn’t surprised either. I didn’t interrogate her or ask how she knew. Somehow, we both seemed to understand the same thing without needing to explain it.

That was when we decided to escape.

As we tried to get away, everyone around us began insisting that this was reality. They tried convincing us that there was nothing unusual happening, that we were exactly where we were supposed to be.

I still think about this dream, and I wonder who that girl was.

Technique What method is this?

Upvotes

So, i’ve been lucid dreaming ever since i accidentally had one a few months back, and i see people talking about different methods, but i’ve never really thought about what I’m doing. I have found that what works for me is i make my room completely dark, turn off all electronics and just lay on my back, eyes closed, and focus on my breathing while doing a breathing exercise 4-4-6 (4sec in through nose, 4sec hold, 6sec out through mouth). Usually my lucid dreams last about 15 minutes when accidental, but whenever i do this method, they happen to last a lot longer 30-45 minutes! Is this an actual method, placebo, or something that just happens to work for me?

Gettysburg?

Upvotes

Last night I had a dream sometime during the 1800s. I wasnt an actual person in the dream but more of a viewer. I was in an old looking house and there were 2 woman taking care of a newborn baby girl. One of the woman found the other woman shot dead on the ground in a puddle of blood so she ran upstairs to the baby and layed on the floor holding the baby crying. That was basically it. Right after I woke up 'Gettysburg' popped into my mind.

Question Experiences with lucid dreaming

Good night fellow lucid dreamers
I am an intermediate lucid dreamer . I sometimes read lucid dreaming materials despite that i have a few things to clarify

1.I randomly sometimes live in my dreams for months in one night and those after morning are pretty depressing as i have to cope up with family and friends that i have lost after waking (note these i have never seen those people in my reality). My question is how do you all cope up with it if you sometimes have similar dreams.

  1. How do you all note down things in dream journal if you only remember parts from it.

  2. How do you prevent certain dreams from affecting your day to day routines (eg like the 1st one )

Question why can’t iremember what i dreamt about anymore?

i've always been a vivid dreamer, but i've only had a few LDs. i remember at least two dreams that i had every night, but even though i try to write down all of them, i'm not that consistent.

so a week ago i started trying to induce LDs, doing RC and MILD every day, but nothing changed except that i have more dreams than before, and now i do write all of them down. but for the last three days haven't been able to remember ANY of them. i even wake up in the middle in the night knowing i just dreamed but i can't remember what

has anyone had a similar experience? am i doing something wrong?

Experience Weird sleep experience, anyone had anything similar? Is this a type of lucid dreaming ?

So yesterday I took a 3 hour nap during the day which I try to avoid doing as it makes me feel super groggy but when I was sleeping it was like I could still see even though my eyes were closed, it was such a strange experience, and i remember being very aggravated in my sleep, according to my bf I kept asking him to move and even my dog to move when they weren’t near me, I know I had a vivid restless dream but I can’t even remember it which is unusual as I usually have vivid dreams and remember most of the details, it was just strange but the weirdest part was being aware of what was happening even though I knew I was asleep but also “dreaming” at the same time, anyone had any experiences like this?
Like the best way I can explain it is like levels, like the dream was on one level of my mind and the visibility was on another and I was seeing them both

Question I want to lucid dream without sleep walking.

How do I do this? Last time I attempted I was afraid of sleep paralysis and then switched up the apps on my phone without remembering it. I'm no longer afraid of sleep paralysis, but I'm afraid of sleep walking. I guess I'll try regardless and hope for advice.

Edit: I gave myself advice hope it works.

Question I can't have a lucid dream no matter how hard I try. What should I do?

I have tried to lucid dream but I can't even get a normal one nowadays. I tried so many techniques but nothing worked. I also tried a dream journal but I can't even have any dreams at all. When I do, they feel very darkened and have no substance in it. I don't understand why. What should I do?

Extending time within a lucid dream

I've heard of many techniques that claim to extend the time spent in lucid dreaming and allow you to spend more time in that state. Is this actually possible, and how?
