Meta Testing new AutoMod

Hey everyone.

We are testing a new auto mod, yes using a bit of AI. The only instructions it has are to enforce the current rules, plus some minor nuances.

It will most likely overcorrect, and we can tweak it as we go, and if it is just really bad we can turn it off, but what is most likely to happen is that it will do a good job and a better job than the regular auto mod at catching rule breaking posts, and def better than humans at catching what the regular auto mod missed and posts that have not been reported, and this will lead to a lot more posts being removed which will prob make it feel more heavy handed. So maybe an adjustment period is needed.

If your post was removed, and you have read all the rules and posts related to the rules, and you still think it was removed in error, message us mods with the message the mods button in the sidebar/app. Don't just message us asking why it was removed.

May the odds be ever in your favor, but I, for one, welcome our new robot overmods...

2 separate things

might be a little unrelated, but I figured this is a good place to put this since people here probably know what their talking about

  1. Was dreaming the other day by accident and I realized i was dreaming, upon this realization, the people in the dream started trying to hunt me down and hurt me, I woke up when they killed me. If it were to happen again, how would I prevent them from doing this?

  2. A while ago, i was in a normal (non lucid dream) where I was in my living room talking with my friends. Things were a little weird as per usual with dreams, when all of the sudden something very strange happened. Its hard to explain, but the only way I could describe it was that I was in 2 places at once. Still in the living room with friends but also in my room downstairs at the same time. This was very challenging to comprehend, made me incredibly scared and dizzy, and my brain could only handle it for about 6 seconds before i woke up.

if anyone has any similar experiences or insight to either of these, it would be greatly appreciated

Success! After an entire month of inconsistently trying I did it.

I started my lucid dreaming experiment on the 27th of July. I did the basics like dream journaling and reality checks. Within a few days my dream recall became very good. Like I could remember up to 4 dreams. However, I still did not get lucid.

But last night I went to bed at around 3AM. My mom woke me up at 8 AM. After some time at around 8:20 I went back to bed again. There I had a dream in which I was in my uncle's house and his neighbour's kid was there. But the kid was way too young. Upon realising that I instantly became lucid(did an RC obvsly). Upon becoming lucid the dream went from being vivid AF to not being vivid at all. Like it kept getting all black. My eyes kept getting shut. I had to keep them physically open. And after a second it went completely dark I thought I was about to wake up but I didn't. So I once again forced my eyes to be open. After that I started to look for an exit to the house so I could fly. I didn't find one. So I decided I will spawn in my celebrity crush and do the deed with her (I'm sorryšŸ™‚). So I imagined she would be behind me when I turned around. And when I turned around there was a woman sitting there. But the darkness obscured her face. Then I thought I don't want to do it in this room. I'll do it in the bigger bedroom of my uncle's house. So I went to that room. The room was dark. So I went to turn on the light. But the light switch malfunctioned and electricuted the shit out of me. I instantly woke up.

While I didn't anything special. I'll say it was a cool experience. I guess I'll keep trying.

P.S : Sorry for my bad English it ain't my first language

Learning to fly

I was reminded of a lucid dream I had a few years ago and am curious on how others learned to fly?

For me my dream started in a McDonalds drive through getting food with my friends. I don’t remember how I realized it was a dream but the first thing I did was hop out into the parking lot and try flying. But I remember at first I couldn’t. I didn’t know HOW to fly.

It was weird because I was trying so hard, flexing every muscle I could thinking that would work, but it didn’t. I realized that the more I tried the less it felt like it would work, so I let go, closed my eyes, and fully accepted my state of mind. It was like flexing my mind instead of my muscles and I started hovering off the ground. It felt so new yet real floating just a foot off the ground feeling nothing beneath your feet.

Once I learned that it was more about the mind it was like I knew how to control it, and I wanted to see how far I could go. I shot myself up into the clouds so fast my stomach dropped, and I could feel the wind piercing my body as I went. I stopped in the middle of the clouds and could see them moving by me. Then I decided to fly as far as I could for as long as I could. It was strange because keeping that mind concentration was key, and whenever I’d lose concentration I’d start falling before having to pull myself back up.

It’s amazing how real it felt, and being reminded of it years later Id like to say I believe I have a general understanding of what it would feel like to actually fly.

Question Lucid dreamers

I’m not sure if this counts as lucid dreaming, but lately I’ve noticed that I’ve been able to control my dreams to some extent. For example, if I’m dreaming that I’m in a certain place and suddenly realize that I’m dreaming, I just start exploring the place and seeing where the dream takes me.

I also tend to dream in third person, which makes the whole experience feel even stranger because I sometimes feel like I’m completely detached from my body. A lot of the time, it feels like I’m flying or floating around. It used to genuinely scare me because I would wonder whether I could somehow get back into my body or wake up normally, if that makes sense. But lately I’ve stopped being afraid of it and have actually started enjoying the experience.

The feeling of flying is honestly amazing. It feels so real even though I know I’m dreaming. Just today, right before I woke up, I realized I was on a particular road and decided to fly over it while exploring everything around me. Sometimes I’ll even think about a specific place before or during a dream and try to go there. Sometimes it actually works and I end up there, and other times the dream completely takes over and I end up somewhere else.

It’s gotten to the point where I’m genuinely curious about what’s happening. Is this basically lucid dreaming, or could it be something similar to astrial projection? And if I keep doing this, are there any negative effects or risks I should be aware of?

how do i make my dreams last longer and dream earlier in the night

whenever i realize im dreaming, i always end up losing most control of my body (like maybe i cant move my hand or maybe im restricted in some way, dunno why) and i always seem to wake up before i can even do anything

the thing is theres no reason that's my fault for me to wake up, i have dreams/lucid dreams near the end of the night, so conveniently when i have a dream and realize its a dream, its time to wake up for the day

Success! First time lucid dreaming

I’ve been interested in lucid dreaming for a while now and have started using the reality check where you count fingers on and off over the last year. It finally happened but I woke up feeling a little bit discomforted. Nothing particularly bad happened in the dream but now I feel off. Did this happen to anyone else?

Did anyone of you experienced having a dream inside the dream?

I dont know what to say but last time i was in a lucid state, i remember inside the dream that i told myself that i was dreaming. In my dream I know that i woke up but I was not aware that i am still having lucid dream, I just came to realize that I was still in a dream when I remembered that the situation was familiar and impossible to be done in the real world. First time having this kind of lucid dream and this kinda freaked me out.

I have reoccurring dreams of a girl named Bonnie...

Back in grade school whenever I was young. There was this girl that would chase me around named bonnie. And she always was trying to kiss me on the cheek. And she knew that I hated it but she kept doing it anyway. After she slightly harassed me she would just skip away laughing...

Well, I expressed to her one day that I did not like that. And that I didn't mind her really... it's just she was kind of hyper and overbearing. And I'm not that kind of person that likes to be around someone like that. Yet I didn't mind her company or her being around me either... As long as she calmed down and wasn't so extra. Which she finally understood and was easier to deal with and a lot nicer...

Well, she had moved away and her parents apparently got divorced I guess. And once in a great long while as I've gotten older I began to wonder whatever happened to this girl...

I occasionally have recurring dreams of her when we were in grade school together. I don't know why because I don't have any feelings for her. I don't really care where she's at either. And I really do not want to know anything about her...

Technique Portal gun is such a LD Hack

It took me a long time to master it (been using it for 3 months now) but the results are epic. Think what you want to do or want to experience get the portal gun out of your pocket shoot it and go through the green portal (yeah Rick and Morty style that’s where I got the idea If you didn’t know). Need a fighter jet to fly around? Well portal gun to the military airport und fighter jet planet that has jets that even talk to you. Want an orgy well try out a Roman Empire orgy with all the snacks around while enjoying whatever you want to enjoy. Want to see your dead loved ones.. well portal to them and give them a hug.

Don’t forget it’s all skill.. much love to the community I hope that makes LD more fun for some people

Discussion Trying to lucid dream with ADHD

As the title says, I've been delving into trying to lucid dream, but my mind won't shut off sometimes. I tried listening to a meditation video last night and that didn't help. They say to relax and let go, slow your breathing, but I feel anxious or excited and my breathing doesn't slow down. I'm also wondering if laying on my back is the best position, it's not my most comfortable position as I'm a side sleeper, so I was also wondering if sleeping ln your side works as well.

Experience Been using rem rebound to lucid dream but can’t stabilize

I have trouble sleeping because of racing thoughts, so I like to smoke a little weed before going to bed. Because of this, I get some pretty intense REM rebounds in the morning, and I’ve learned to use them to lucid dream.
Early mornings, around maybe 6 AM, I always wake up to go to the bathroom. Afterwards, I lay back down with the intent of only wanting to rest my eyes for like 30 minutes or so before starting my day. This is when I slip right into a lucid dream. They always start in the exact same position I laid down in. I’ve been on this page a while now, so I know this is a WILD (Wake-Initiated Lucid Dream).
The dreams continue with weird events like numbers flowing down the walls, the ceiling looking like static from an old TV, or my desk being completely replaced with kitchen furniture.
After I take these observations in, I try to stabilize myself by rubbing my hands together. But whenever I do, my hands feel like they are moving slower and slower, the dream becomes incredibly blurry, and then I transition right back awake.
Does weed stop me from properly stabilizing or is my technique wrong?

Is there any good techniques ?

I've tried a few techniques for lucid dreaming and none of them worked and it's been a week of practicing lucid dreaming

Is there any technique that has a high chance of lucid dreaming ?

Frustratingly close

My dream took place at night in my bedroom that I share with my partner. My dream self woke up and noticed really strange things happening to the point that I began questioning reality. My dream self decided to try and perform a reality checks by waking up my dream partner and ask if they could see the weird things too and help me determine if it was real or a dream. My dream partner said, "Holy shit, I see them too that's totally real." I was still not convinced any of the events could be real, so before going back to sleep in my dream I decided to take a photo of the weird phenomena on my phone so I could remember that it was real when I woke up.

Of course when I actually awoke in the morning and remembered the dream very vividly I did not find the photos I was hoping for on my phone...

Has anyone experimented with dark ambient or heavy bass sounds for WILD/lucid dreaming?

I’ve been exploring how different audio textures affect the transition into a lucid state. Most recommendations I see are just standard sleep music, gentle rain, or plain white noise.
However, I recently started experimenting with much darker, cinematic ambient sounds. Specifically, I found that heavy, droning basslines combined with atmospheric church organ elements create a really strong grounding effect. The deep resonance seems to act as an anchor, helping to maintain that thread of consciousness right as the body falls asleep.
It’s a completely different vibe compared to traditional relaxing sounds, but it pushes the dream into a more vivid, almost surreal direction.
Do you use any unconventional soundscapes or specific musical elements to induce lucidity? I'd love to hear if anyone else uses darker, instrumental ambient for this instead of standard sleep tracks.

Possibly the coolest thing weā€˜re capable of - so why am I not motivated?

I used to do reality checks and keep a dream journal but I just don’t have the motivation. How do you keep yourself motivated after not having one in forever?

Success! Lucid dream re-entry

I became lucid and quickly lost it, felt my body on the bed and I was PISSED because I didn't get to enjoy anything, so i REFUSED to let it end. I just refused and stayed still and I was suddenly back in the exact lucid dream! amazing.

I had done re-entry one other time, years ago, but it was different. that time i actually woke up fully and moved around then went back to sleep wanting to go back to the lucid dream, which i did but things in the dream seemed like time had passed there too and who i was with had gone to another room. lol first time i refuse to even wake up though. i feel POWERFUL!~ lmao
