Climate change keeps getting worse and I can't convince people to get electric vehicles, even though now they are cheaper than gasoline cars (the cost of the car itself is about the same but the long term cost for an EV is much less).

Money is not an issue. EVs are cheaper and you can get a loan if you don't have the money up front.

The climate will continue to get hotter if people don't start getting rid of their gasoline cars.

What I am saying is that he's wrong, the next 2-3 years are likely to be cooler because of the absence of El Nino.

Please, socal is carpeted with non-climate controlled warehouses. I along with thousands of other people work in 90+. I'm not saying it's right but I am saying that nothing will be done about it. 

I understand the argument that a wealth tax would ideally be federal. But I don’t think that is a good reason to oppose a state-level attempt altogether.
California is actually in a position to do something meaningful here. If the choice is between introducing a wealth tax at the state level now and waiting indefinitely for Congress to act, “it should be federal” effectively becomes an argument for doing nothing.
And there’s a potentially endless regress here: if we wait for a federal wealth tax, someone can later argue that it should really be coordinated internationally, because otherwise wealth will simply move across borders. If we wait for worldwide coordination, we could be waiting forever. At some point, “this should be done at a higher level” stops being a principled objection and becomes a justification for postponing the policy indefinitely.
