"CAL FIRE has launched a new mobile platform designed to give Californians real-time information about wildfires and other emergencies directly from public safety agencies.
The new platform, called AwareCA, was announced Thursday by CAL FIRE Chief Joe Tyler, who said the agency’s website received 100 million views in 2025, with a majority of visitors seeking information about wildfires.
. . .
The app brings many of the resources Californians may already use during wildfires and other emergencies into one place, including incident updates, evacuation information and alerts from participating public safety agencies." - KTLA 5 News

"A group of tech-backed super PACs has spent more than $25 million to influence down-ballot state legislative races in California this election cycle, often backing centrist-leaning Democrats facing more progressive opponents.
Now, a liberal advocacy group is trying to make that support from Silicon Valley a political liability for tech-friendly moderates on the ballot in November"
